UPDATE: Anyone who can get the screencap showing the counter at 100,000,000 on the right sidebar will get a free 100 million coffee cup with a special cartoon from Josh – Anthony

Not sure where else to post this so that you will see it, but as I write, your blogstats are sitting at 99,965,942 views … so your blog is rapidly approaching a very significant milestone – which I anticipate will probably be reached within the next day or so (if not sooner!)
May I suggest that you start a Countup thread, so that lurkers and fans may express their thoughts as this milestone approaches … This will build excitement and traffic – and confound the “powers that wannabe”, I’m sure 😉
On one hand it thought to myself “it’s just a number, no big deal” on the other hand I thought “this only comes once, and a number of people have emailed me about it, so there must be some excitement going on”.
So, who am I to argue with the lady? Sound off below.
Anthony,
If you could add shopping, banking, stock market and birding functions you’d have all my traffic. lol
Congratulations, and thank you for your dedication to finding the truth about climate.

Well earned Anthony Watts!
This blog shows that science can survive the vicious attacks of the non-scientists posturing as “Post-Modern, Post-Normal,” post-understanding “climate scientists.”
As my professors at the ETH said on more than one occasion, if they have to put science in the name, it isn’t science. Science is HOW sapient species learn about the universe, NOT what they claim to do.
Well, it seems my comment got lost somehow, so I’m rewriting it. If it gets duplicated, sorry about that.

@Joshualdo
LOL And of course you have assumed a linear relationship when in fact a most important and often overlooked factor to consider is natural variability 😉 (in this case the natural daily cycle)
/long sarc on, just in case ah ah
What, natural variability? What, diurnal cycle? What, people waking up in America? How can you come up with that? That’s typical de***r stuff, cycles. If that were real, there would be a correction factor for that.
How can you say that a computer mathematical model, based on a extremely robust zero intercept least-squares fit with a R-squared of 0.963 (done with that Excel hi-tech thing) doesn’t incontrovertibly predict the future? There’s a 97% consensus on that.
The problem with de***rs is that scientists do robust, beer-reviewed science typing away on their keyboards, then all de***rs have to do is say things from the top of their heads and decent scientists have to listen to them and, God forbid, provide the data and methods too? How can one do science if one keeps being pestered with requests for how one did it?
Nah! Me wants me grants and me PlayStations and me minions! Arrh arrh arrh!
Prepare for 17:00 GMT!!!! And don’t forget that accumulated pageviews at WUWT correlate perfectly with Mauna Loa CO2! Ah, and methane, let’s not forget that!
/long sarc off
One More Try.. Problems with adding comments, again, sorry if this is redundant..
Congratulations on your achievement. This is a reflection of your due diligence and is no small feat. A lot of time and hard work on you and your teams’ behalf. It seems appropriate that your new year starts off with a 1 followed by 9 zeros. Too bad there is not a $ in front of that.. Maybe Exxon-Mobile can help you out there? 🙂
I was kind of curious. I wanted to see how the stats were counted. So at approx. 08:50 EST your front page blog was at:
Blog Stats
99,989,204 views
I then clicked on the 100m story and the counter increased to:
Blog Stats
99,990,521 views
I then went back to the front page and the number reverted to 99,989,204.
I then closed that tab, cleared the cache, and re-opened WUWT, same 99,989,204, the number from earlier.
Only when I manually cleared out the contents after http://wattsupwiththat.com from the address bar then my front page updated with the correct stats. So I don’t think anyone can scam the system by just refreshing the pages. Your stats are true numbers, unlike the results from certain AGW institutions…
Currently at 09:06 EST you are at:
Blog Stats
99,991,728 views
Again, Congratulations..
Congratulations Mr, Watts!
I suspect there’s going to be a spike in page views today. Duh.
Previous Saturday counts from my tracking at http://home.comcast.net/~ewerme/wuwt/index.html (The counts there are for the end of the day. I think.):
Allelujah! Got through 🙂
@Joshualdo
While I realise you are following an accepted methodology, your computer model in this case underestimates the rate of accumulation. It seems I may have overestimated by using a value of daylight forcing that was at the top end of the acceptable range (a ‘climategate value’).
Actually, I’m not going to post a revised estimate as I do have an unfair advantage and I reckon I won’t be too far off.
Congratulations and keep going. One million comments next!
Things are strange in this posting. My 2 comments appeared, finally, awaiting moderation..
I then exited the browser and then reopened WUWT and my comments are gone.. And it looks like others may be having issues too..
Anyway, one more shot…
at 09:30 EST you are at 99,992,199 views
In my previous, unsuccessful post, i stated:
It seems appropriate that your new year starts off with a 1 followed by 9 zeros. Too bad there is not a $ in front of that.. Maybe Exxon-Mobile can help you out there?
Well, I can’t count, 100m is 8 zeros. But I do wish you all of the best and a prosperous new year.
Congratulations…
Sorry for the triple post!! There was no sign, for the first three attempts, that the text had reached the system.
And where I say, “Got though!” in the previous post, I mean “Got through!”, of course!
Sorry again for the triple post. The usual system feedback didn’t occur.
99,993,518 views – close – but will it kill polar bears if I lit a cigar?
ANTHONY/MODS…. if you can narrow it down to a single person do they get a new coffee cup? Mine has gotten quite stained while glued to this AGW saga over the years and I just might stay and go for it, that split-second 100,000,000th press of the so often hit… [ Post Comment ]. ☺
Anthony, moderators, guest posters, commentators, lurkers (and, ok, warmists and trolls) and their supportive families, you have done it. This is by all means the most amazing science story of our times. An open and mostly serious avenue to exchange ideas and knowledge about the science of our physical world and atmosphere that has taken climate science one giant leap right out of the late nineteenth century mentality so embedded within the climate computer models today. Anthony, you have lead this to history, no doubt about it!
The consensus in in! I’m a DENIER because I love my quantum mechanics (damned quantum jumping…)! This blog is fantastic because the consensus-ites are taken to task and simply asked to ‘show their work’.so that it might be held to scrutiny. Sadly, for some, that’s asking too much. Oh, well!
Anthony, guest writers, moderators;
It was about a year ago that I first started following your site to gain a better understanding of the technical, social, political and economic points of view around climate, weather and energy. I look forward to my email inbox for the latest updates. As the 1912 edition of The Old Farmer’s Almanac says- “Human progress in large measure consists in acquisition of mastery”
Your site has helped me gain some understanding in the complexities- thanks for all you and the team do.
“Weather forecasting in 1792 was what you might call an imperfect science. Today, it still is.” Farmers Almanac
Wouldn’t it be appropriate if Anthony & Co. got another WebLog award on the same year his web site breached 100,000,000 hits?

This blog is one that helps me provide suitable ammunition to counter the familiar `we’re doomed’ arguments or argue with those who want to cover our small island in wind turbines.
Congratulations to all who help with it.
Congratulations and thanks Anthony, moderators, and contributors (Steve McIntyre, Willis, and well… just too many to name) for bringing truth to the dialog, and for (probably) stopping a global Enron. Your contributions may have saved the world from Big Gov’t.

Getting closer to the magic number…
Congratulations to all contributors
100 million! It’s worse than THEY thought. Congratulations on reaching this milestone and thnk you for providing interesting content.
Rarely comment, read everyday. 99,994,961 views as I write. Onward through the fog.
Congratulations, Anthony. This site is the best on the web.
Congratulations Anthony! This is your baby and it is spectacular.
I switched……from Drudge to WUWT as my home page a year ago and never looked back.

Hit Rate is now 4000 per hour.
About 3,500 to go.
100 Millionth should occur around 11:00am EST.
That is 8:00am West Coast blogtime.
Somebody call Anthony to make sure he’s up!
Are we there yet!
