Heh, gaze upon the face that launched a thousand quips.

I figured though, that I owed Dellers a linky for the big LOL I got this morning as I read that CTM gets press in the UK Telegraph for his recent WUWT article.
The figures refer to the number of “views” for Gore’s special “24 Hours Of ManBearPig” which this column helped celebrate the other day. Gore claims that as many as 8.6 million flocked to his thrilling festival of climate fear; but a nasty cruel man called Charles the Moderator at Watts Up With That? has “done the math” and reckons the figure is probably more like 17,000. And that, he believes, is a generous estimate.

This is another Delingpole Telegraph article, a piece of British humour poking fun at the alarmist community.
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100105854/times-atlas-to-print-new-world-map-without-tuvalu-maldives-manhattan-etc/
Bwahahahahaah!
I’m wiping tears of hilarity from my eyes and enjoying it immensely. Thanks for the chuckle!
You get a gold star for the day, CTM!
Hey, does that photo angle mess with the facial recognition software?
Delingpole writes:
“What we need now is maps that change the world, transforming into something which it isn’t actually yet but might be one day if we don’t act NOW!”
Beautiful translation from Marx’s time, place, economic, and political conditions to our own.
Al must have got his viewer numbers from a IPCC model.
Ok, Charles the Moderator has never deleted a post of mine or snipped a part of it or even warned me about one — BUT he wanted to do so!
British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that the Times Atlas will omit Maldives, Tuvalu – an island nation located midway between Hawaii and Australia – and major parts of Bangladesh in order to convey the “emotional truth” about “man-made climate change”.
The European Union maps also frequently miss out on showing Anglesey, The Isle of Wight and Isle of Man in European maps. Does that mean they don’t believe we exist? Just because we are friends with Father Christmas and his Elves who love our little islands the mapmakers have taken the humph. Can we have lots of the same loot given to tropical islands?
I love Delingpole, and I love all here. How wonderful to have the weapon of humor, the sharpest and most effective knife in the Alinsky-box…to use on the Alinskyites!
Keep up the good work, and God Bless James D.

Mrs.Merkle It’s just comedy. You wait till he climbs on a pile of recalled Times Atlas of the Worlds to stick another CO2 icon on top of a hockey-stick graph and falls into the jaws of a polar bear.

breaking news……..
Times Atlas to omit Maldives in upcoming edition: report
MALE, September 21 (HNS) – The Times Comprehensive Atlas of the World will completely omit Maldives in its upcoming 14th edition, media reports say.

ROFLMAO does not do justice to the way I was after reading James Delingpole, then seeing the piece http://www.haveeru.com.mv/english/details/38339. Even the dog was worried about me!
Seems that the Haveeru Daily in the Maldives is not samiliar with the concept of satire.

“If CTM had really done his homework, he would have found that most of the 17,000 were skeptics doing due diligence.”
==================================================
And the rest of the 17,000 were believers doing penance.
Your 15 minutes of fame has arrived Charles!
Thanks for ‘doing what you do so well’!!

Funny.
I wonder how many warmists will fail to see the humor and jump to the defense of the 'decision.'
A Fu Man Chu might better get across your devious, cruel, evil, SCEPTICAL style!!
Even if the numbers presented by Al Gore was accurate, and I don’t think they are, how does one count “a viewer”? I clicked on the page, but after 10 seconds of this hogwash, left. Yes, I could be counted as “a viewer”, but I didn’t stay to watch. Would Nelson give a rating based on a 10 second view OR would they want the person to stay for a longer time? We could debate the time, but I think a real viewer stays for a lot longer than 10 seconds. I wonder how may “viewers” were very short term surfers? I also wonder how many viewers came there from WUWT?

Can anyone tell me why according to WSJ and other sources. Mr Mann received economic stimulus funds?

Hey Kim,
You can find most of that information at the nsf.gov website:
http://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward.do?AwardNumber=0902133
Down at the bottom:
“This award is funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Public Law 111-5).”
Funny.
I wonder how many warmists will fail to see the humor and jump to the defense of the ‘decision.’
Both of them !!!!
Thank goodness Anthony deleted CTM’s post spilling the truth behind the Tooth Fairy before Delingpole saw it. Can you imagine his reaction to THAT?!?

I’m afraid to say I was riveted to the London section of the Goreathon. There was a gorgeous feamae presenter doing the honours. I think she had some gurests on who were talking about the weather or something
tonyb.
But we can trust these guys not to exaggerate the temperature of the earth, right?
Suggestion for Anthony: There should be a regular weekly roundup of the Top Ten external threads like this one (Delingpole’s). Or there should be a running list of the most recent Ten Threads in the sidebar.
REPLY: Sure, I’ll just squeeze that into my already underbooked schedule – Anthony
Do you guys have stats on how many of those 17,000 (and/or 8 bajillion) were forwarded from WUWT? I know that the couple that I pinged were just because I wanted to see the insanity you guys were talking about. I might have lasted a total of 15 seconds between the two visists, or so… adjusting for ENSO variability, solar irradiance, and general laziness. 😉
PB-in-AL
Here’s what I have from our wordpress stats system
outbound clicks to climaterealityproject.org
9/15/2011 1555
9/14/2011 240
So if CTM’s estimate holds true, WUWT contributed 10%, and that’s not counting all the other skeptical blogs that had links to it. Climatedepot.com also had a big traffic day due to the APS resignation story and they had the link to CRP front and center.
I’ll bet skeptics made up a significant portion of the viewers.
I understand the average view time for the GoreFest was just 3 minutes–that’s long enough to get interested, bored, then disgusted with the whole “fest”. (And admittedly it’s 3 minutes more than I spent.)
CTM,
The WUWT moderators are all destined for fame . . . . are you prepared . . . do you all have an agent?
You all are . . . . moderators extraordinaire.
Love,
John
