Pamela,
Be nice to the squirrels. They have no idea your stuff doesn’t belong to them!
Locking it up just creates a new challenge for them.
As a kid, there was one living under my back porch.
After a few visits, I had it sitting in my lap picking peanuts out of my hand.
……just don’t run out of peanuts. 🙂

pack of sssquirrels = released into the area wolves
Here in my county in Kansas we have an experiment in deer population controls by the use of cougars or pumas, released into the wild. The creek that runs through my property is one of the trails they follow to the river forested areas, and the upland CRP grass land the deer are currently eating to explode their prey population.
Very little is said locally about the big cats, who are being satellite tracked live via county game warden laptop application. But fresh tracks show up most days on my property, have spotted up to three pumas at a time hunting raccoons on my property.

I strongly suspect that your tongue is firmly lodged within your cheek, but I feel compelled to explain for those whose nations don’t still celebrate the end of World War I. For those of us in nations that do, it is customary to spend a minute of silence at 11 AM on 11/11 reflecting upon the sacrifices of those who didn’t come back and the cost of freedom.
A perfect time for enviro-wackos to be making noise, n’est pas?
