Gore concedes on climate this year
By Steve Milloy GreenHellBlog, August 10, 2010
Speaking about the likelihood of climate bill being passed by Congress in 2010, Al Gore told a conference call of supporters tonight that, “this battle has not been successful and is pretty much over for this year.” Gore bitterly denounced the Senate and federal government stating several times, “The U.S. Senate has failed us” and “The federal government has failed us.” Gore even seemed to blame President Obama by emphasizing that “the government as a whole has failed us… although the House did its job. [emphasis added]”
Gore urged his listeners to take the “realistic view that they had failed badly.” Gore said that “Comprehensive legislation is not likely to be debated” and that a “lame duck debate” is a “very slim possibility indeed.” (N.B. We thought, because Gore told us, that “the debate” was over.)
…
Gore blamed the skeptics for “attacking science and scientists.” “They [the skeptics] did damage and cast doubt,” Gore said.
…
In a warm-up discussion before Gore addressed the call, National Wildlife Federation chief Larry Schweiger referred to the skeptics as “enemies” and that he hoped the alarmists would “outlive the bastards.”

Oh, and those NWF folks surely could find a way to squeeze in the word “donate” a couple more times on their web page:
Follow the money.

I’d rather be an intelligent bastard with integrity, Than a blankety-blank money-grubbing alarmist…
Gore = alarmist = act like God!
If the battle to have this bill passed was lost due to skeptics, then all I can say is Hooray for us!
I guess all the work put in by people like Anthony is working.
Health care was dead too.
Watch the flank.
Gore concedes … again. This seems a role to which he is well suited with a proven track record on offering concessions.
Let us hope he keeps his record intact and keeps on conceding through all the upcoming years.
I’m surprised Schweiger didn’t call skeptic poo-heads, too. He’s a bit testy because he can hear the rusty squeak of his donations faucet being slowly shut off.
such heartwarming news,
the thought of Al being depressed and losing:-)
I bet hes More upset at losing the money!
as for the NWF chap. well theres an old Aussie bush curse..(probably came back from the wars in egypt?)
may the fleas of a thousand camels…..infest…..
I’m sure you can all guess the rest 🙂
Manbearpig has been stopped…for now!
He needs to relax. Maybe get a good rubdown?
Look at the piles of money being expended by the alarmist contingent, while skeptics operate on a shoestring, if even that.
Gore blamed the skeptics for “attacking science and scientists.”
This from a man who said the core of the earth is at several million degrees. He doesn’t know what science is—that is beyond debate.
Asked why the alarmists were ineffective in addressing Climategate, Gore bitterly blamed a “biased right-wing media…
How about blaming the team Al baby.
Gore said that “reality is [the alarmists] ally”
This from a man who said he used to be President.
Pass the popcorn….

I agree – keep an eye on the EPA for an attempt to set up some sort of “carbon” control system – or even a cap and trade system without Congress.
If such a thing happens – you can be sure that Congress as an effective institution within the Executive-Legislative-Judiciary group will have been successfully marginalised by the Executive branch.
Hopefully it wont come to pass.
“Gored urged his listeners …”
Ad hominem – let’s not sink to their level.
REPLY: typo. fixed. thanks. Anthony
Apart from the money, I think another factor is that Progressives just can’t believe that their policies can be fairly questioned. What they want to do is so obviously correct, appropriate and generally good for all of us, that they can’t fathom that maybe a credible argument even exists. Sounds like religion to me…not that there is anything wrong with it.
He concluded by observing that “it is darkest before dawn”…
Not at his mansion that uses more electricity in one month than the average house does in twenty.
He concluded by observing that…. “we have not yet begun to fight.”
Then he picked up his $150,000.00 speaking engagement check, got into an awaiting limo which took him to his Gulf Stream Jet which flew him to another awaiting limo. Boy, that’s a real fight. Maybe he’d like us all to ride a bike to work to offset his carbon footprint.

—————Reply:
I’d rather take the opposite view, i.e., that Gore acts just the opposite of God. Satan is the controlling one; the one who doesn’t want honest, open discussion. Satan is the one who piles woe and misery on the human race, whereas God tries His best to bless mankind. Gore’s actions would be completely opposite if he were God-like. Completely opposite.
Is alGore a quitter? He can go out and ramp up some more fear and try again. We get his sea level rise we plant cypress trees in Russia.
I guess the National Wildlife Federation never considered that so-called “skeptics” might be animal lovers, and might be otherwise inclined to fund efforts to help the animal kingdom…..
Mr. Schweiger, don’t bother asking me anymore to join your group or make donations. My money’s going to the National Skeptic Federation for wild nightlife preserves.
Climate change science is about engineering a change in the perceived climate by way of delusion.
Idiots!
No wonder good ole’ Gordo is angry. Take a look how his carbon market is doing: $0.10/ton.

These guys (alarmists) keep digging themselves deeper and deeper, when the truth is finally accepted they will become the laughing stock of the world. They need to be given a way out so we can all go back to solving real world problems.
