Last month I was surprised to find WUWT broke the 2 million hits barrier.
This month, it’s worse than we thought:

Just another effect of Climategate.
In other news, some other websites didn’t appear to benefit from the Climategate “bump”.
From Alexa.com
As always, I say I could not have done this alone. My sincere thanks to the many contributors, and moderators Charles, DB, and Evan. Of course, let’s not forget all the readers and commenters. Truly a global village we have here.

Anthony and moderators,
This site has been a God send in these times. I have used it to bring many friends up to speed on the current CC situation. I have also deposited 30$ in your account to help you out and I wish you all the very best of the Christmas season! Bon chance!
The most impresive thing is that ratings were soaring even before climategate hit.
Well done everyone!
I keep hearing, from the MSM / BBC etc., that “the science is settled. Global Warming is a fact, and is caused by anthropogenic CO2”. If the science is so settled, why is the funding for “research” increasing? Surely if all the answers have been confirmed, no more research and funding is necessary. Everyone can go back to their day jobs……
My heartfelt thanks to Anthony and all staff for the excellent work. Keeping up the pressure is the only way to bring climatic science back on track.
Just a quick question: How are these numbers counted? WUWT is usually my 3rd click of the day and I stay on all day. Do I could as one ‘click’ or does each visit to any of the threads count as a ‘click’?
I found WUWT in the spring of this year. I can’t remember exactly how it happened but I’m sure I ended up on surRealClimate of all places first and read through the – as someone once so vividly painted – ‘spittle flecked invective’ and ended up here. So… Thank you, surReal Climate!
Well done. Great site… if we all click the google links on your site the green lobby will be much poorer and you richer… click click click i have.
Let me be alone and criticize the graph. The graph shows a monthly set of points. The upward spike was actually around the 20th as i recall. So we have reason to believe the upward slope was consistent and fairly steep following october’s rise.
The increase all came in roughly the last 10 days of November after Anthony sent a message from the airport commenting on an alert from MKcIntyre.
Well gee Anthony you have to stop hiding the donate button. Just kidding I’ll get to it.
The higher the WUWT hit graph goes, the more of a “vested interest” you have in ClimateGate. Please learn from other’s mistakes, stay humble, and continue to search for Truth over self-validation. Thanks for the work you do.
Based on modeling using the Erlang C formula and using the inbound intents and outbound replies as a proxy for CPU temperature, we are able to state unequivocally with 95% confidence that WUWT server CPU core temperatures are increasing at an alarming rate. Anthropogenic Server Warming (ASW) is indeed man caused.
Soon the WUWT servers will reach the tipping point and go into thermal runaway, beyond which the albedo forcing of fans will have no effect. It is occurring at an unprecedented rate and is much worse that our models predicted.
The science is settled. There is no debate.
Kudos on a job so well done it can be claimed to have changed the world at least as much as man generated CO2.
Now whatever you do don’t throw away the original data.
BTW: Accuweather will be interviewing M. Mann this week. Their blog may be found here: http://global-warming.accuweather.com/
Unfortunately, Joe Bastardi will not be conducting the interview. Now that would have been a calendar marker. GK
By my calculations, the 30-year smoothed trend delivers only a mere 2331.6512328767123287671232876712 hits per day – give or take a few decimal points to take account of leap years. Obviously, no one reads WUWT.
You are all “muddled and confused”

Anthony…I happened upon your site last Spring while looking for discussion on solar cycle 24. I’ve been hooked ever since.
Your articles, contributors, moderators, and commentors (others I missed?) keep me riveted. WUWT is my source for objective information and well-supported analysis.
Huzzah!
Ron de Haan (07:06:08) :
Scientific American, not so “scientific”.
Also seems a bit un-American.
I may be posting so late that no one will see this, but…..
I had a chat with the editorial-page editor of our local paper to ask if I was wasting my time writing an op-ed from the sceptic’s POV, and was quite shocked when he instantly accepted and will give me 750 words. Further chat led to the information that his paper had received virtually nothing on Climategate from the wire services that they use. Is this a smoking gun?

16,500 people jetting off to Copenhagen [plus their MSM entourage] will generate a lot of beneficial CO2. These unselfish tax-paid providers of a necessary atmospheric plant food that is in short supply get my thanks, from the bottom of my heart: *click
I’ve always been a great believer in scientific methods and have – from personal experience – a high opinion of scientists’ integrity. This is why I thought that the so-called consensus that present climate-change is caused by human intervention was correct.
No more. I’ve since (among other things, of course) learned that major figures in climate circles no longer consider themselve scientists in the classic sense of the word. Instead, they are practicing what they themselves call “post-normal science”:
http://buythetruth.wordpress.com/2009/10/31/climate-change-and-the-death-of-science/
That has entirely eroded my trust in their work. This is of course a sad state of affairs, as far as science’s reputation is concerned, but then, no longer having to worry about imminent planetary heat death is a compensation…
I apologize for frowning upon the work of websites such as this one in the past; will not be fooled again, I hope.
Hank Hancock (08:40:15) :
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA – Thank you, that was a good chuckle. Personally I am a ASW skeptic since I believe he is being hosted by WordPress which should be using VIPs and a server farm instead of a single server. That said, I offer a revised theory of Anthony’s impact: Anthropological Data Center Warming (ADCW)
This could have already reached the tipping point where the Data Center is incapable of providing sufficient cooling and/or power – so while the science may not be settled, we must act now by shutting down the interwebs and other electronic communications and reverting to the clean, nonpolluting Pony Express for all communications!!!!!11!1
Anthony, I don’t really have time right now, but I will see if I can come up with some trick to fix that Mar 09 to Aug 09 decline. Later.

Penn State Will Investigate ‘Climategate’

Congrats, your blog is becoming more important than peer-reviewed “by my friends” crap.
I’ve said it before. You know you’ve got a quality blog when you’re not only spearheading an issue as great as Climategate but also fostering a comment section that contains some of the best humor and insight found on the internet.
Gosh. This is fun.
Congrats to Anthony and his great team.
In the marketplace of ideas, you are obviously providing that which the market demands. Great job!
You forgot to make climateprogress.org series upside down. I’m sure they won’t mind.
Leon Brozyna (02:08:47) :
In other news of the day, here at the eastern end of Lake Erie we’re forecast to get 3-6″ of global warming today (AKA snow).
I’ll tip my hat to the first television weatherperson who uses Leon’s phrase when describing snowfall.
It looks like WUWT’s internet popularity correlates well with the AGW-alarmist crowd’s temperature record. Since according to the AGW camp anything that correlates with temperature is a valid temperature proxy, we can’t lose. If hits on WUWT continue to increase, it will be sure sign the BS of AGW is dying. If hits on WUWT fall (heaven forbid), we will have proof that temperatures are falling.
AHAH!
The hacker was Anthony, and he did it to improve his ratings.
In other news, Mexico’s weather is a bit milder than expected.

And in Europe they are finally beginning to enjoy relief from the summer heat.
