Compelling video: Angry voters confront Congressman who voted for cap and trade

From Tom Nelson

At the 4:12 mark, a speaker says that he hopes Castle loses his Congressional seat over his support of cap and trade, and the crowd cheers. Castle smiles briefly, then his face grows grim.

Around the 7:12 mark, Castle is booed after he says he believes in AGW.

Rich Miller, 76, of Zanesville, said he, too, is concerned about not just health care, but how the entire system is running.

“I’m sick to death of the whole deal,” Miller said. “The government is taking everything they can out of the people’s hands.”

Miller said he wants to see values in the country returned to the way they were more than a year ago.

“It scares me to death what the people in Washington are doing to us,” Miller said. “I voted for Space but when he voted for the Cap and Trade, that was it.”

Mark Hicks drove from Athens to tell Space that he’s never seen a more irresponsible government.

Not to put too much of a partisan spin on things (Republicans, at least the last batch that had the reigns, didn’t do much better), but I’m working up a bumper sticker that reads:
Irresponsible Leadership
for an
Unsustainable Future
Vote Democrat!
That’s the least offensive version of what I have in mind.

I think you all overestimate the intelligence of the average voter (P.T. Barnum in reverse). This has been sold as “painless, just 44 cents per day” and “saving the planet”. Who could oppose that? Only a few malcontents.
Nothing will happen until the real price/tax increases hit, then the pols will blame it all on greedy businessmen, with appropriate Congressional hearings.
Congress never does anything wrong. Unless a Republican president ‘lies’ to them. If Bush hadn’t bailed out of Kyoto, none of this would have been needed and we would all be fat and happy.

Mark Kirk and Mike Castle aren’t running for reelection. They are running for the Senate, for the seats that belonged to Obama and Biden.

Crosspatch,
Castle shouldn’t be such a chicken; there are 21% other, who probably are not buying the AGWers’ BS so go for it. Problem is, as a professional politician, he will be conformist.

free wind: Re: Van Jones. Interesting. I wonder if Obama knows he will be judged by the company he keeps? As this kind of revelation enters public awareness, there will be a national outrage gaining momentum. It could easily turn violent, resulting in any number of unwelcome scenarios as the current administration clings to power in the face of growing unrest.

All,
I think at the end of the day is that politicians need to realize this: Their duty is to do their duty according to the constitution and nothing more. Their job is not to control the people. The free market does a pretty good job of that. Worry only about the powers granted to them by the constitution and nothing more (and yes, we need to severely limit the “provide for the general welfare” part).
Everyone just wants to be left alone and not work for the bureaucrats 5 months out of the year.
Just leave us alone and stop trying to control our lives and everything else on the planet for your own monetary gain. I believe this is all people really want.

Bruce Cobb (14:11:33) : “All the Cap n’ Tradesters, Democratic and Republican alike are traitors. They sold out our country in favor of a fraudulent idea based on lies which will be extremely costly to us. I don’t think the Dems know what’s coming toward them next election. People are angry.”
Some of them know. That’s why the Demagogic Party has to prevent the next election from ever happening. Can you say, “martial law?” I knew you could.

Two very nice sites to help you get involved in the fight to stop the insanity that is happening in our gov. Sometimes writing doesnt do it. But groups that show up and challenge their reps leave a lasting impression. Its time for us to stand up and be heard. Its one of those what can you do for your country moments.

I’m from Illinois and I can tell you Mark Kirk is having a LOT of trouble raising money. He is having second thoughts about running for Obama’s Senate Seat.

After a ‘flurry” of sunspots, solar flux (10.7 cm radio waves) is down to 66.
No, it stands at 69.2 [this noon]. The 66 is because we are about the farthest from the Sun we can get [each year around 4th July]. So what looks like a slide from the values of six months ago is just because we have moved away from the Sun since then.
BTW have NASA revised their SC24 predictions again yet??
No, it still stands at 80. Mine stands at ~72. It will not be revised any further, as the polar fields [just before minimum] on which it is based have already started a [slow and barely significant] decline due ot new SC24 that is beginning to eat away at the polar fields.

“I don’t understand why cap-and-trade is needed. All the government has to do is allocate substantial funding (or just print more money) for alternative energy sources and when we come up with one (or more) in x years, then we start the switch. And this is assuming that the AGW science is right.
I read somewhere that one iteration of this cap-and-trade bill has us sending billions of dollars to companies in foreign countries to not chop down trees…”
Here are some quotes that will fill you in on the “Grand Scheme”
It seems Obama helped set up the Chicago Climate exchange ““the world’s first and North America’s only legally binding greenhouse gas emission registry reduction system for emission sources and offset projects in North America and Brazil.” Al Gore and Maurice Strong are heavily involved. Strong is now in Beijing running from Canada and US Authorities because of the “Oil-for-Food” fraud. http://warofillusions.wordpress.com/2009/03/30/obama-maurice-strong-al-gore-key-players-cashing-in-on-chicago-climate-exchange/
And who does Maurice Strong work for in Beijing? CH2M Hill.
“…CH2M Hill, 1946 in Corvallis, Oregon, is “an employee-owned, multinational firm providing engineering, construction, operations and related services to public and private clients in numerous industries on six continents. CH2M HILL offers integrated services that help … clients take any infrastructure project from concept to reality. Every element of [the] firm is structured to leverage [its] collective knowledge, allow [it] to satisfy each client’s unique needs and deliver results that ensure success.” CH2M Hill has “nearly 200 offices on 6 continents.”[1] “The name CH2M HILL is derived from the names of the founders of the company. In 1946, Fred Merryfield (an Oregon State College civil engineering professor) and Holly Cornell, James Howland, and T. Burke Hayes (former students of Merryfield) formed CH2M using their initials to form the company name.” In 1971, the company “merged with Clair A. Hill & Associates to become CH2M HILL.”[2] CH2M HILL Companies and Subsidiaries…” http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Talk/talk.religion.bahai/2008-11/msg00491.html
Strong is also an advisor to the Chinese top brass, So he is all ready to take the CO2 emissions money and invest it in China.
“….It is instructive to read Strong’s 1972 Stockholm speech and compare it with the issues of Earth Summit 1992. Strong warned urgently about global warming, the devastation of forests, the loss of biodiversity, polluted oceans, the population time bomb. Then as now, he invited to the conference the brand-new environmental NGOs [non-governmental organizations]: he gave them money to come; they were invited to raise hell at home. After Stockholm, environment issues became part of the administrative framework in Canada, the U.S., Britain, and Europe…..”
http://www.mail-archive.com/ctrl@listserv.aol.com/msg106963.html
What does Strong think of the USA?
“….Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class – involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, air-conditioning, and suburban housing – are not sustainable…..” – Maurice Strong, Rio Earth Summit
(notice it is the MIDDLE CLASS that is target not the likes of Al Gore and the ultra rich.
So what is Strong’s solution?
“Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?” Maurice Strong
http://www.meta-religion.com/Secret_societies/Groups/DAVOS/davos.htm
Obama is rushing to carry out Strong”s wishes. The dominos leading to the collapse of the USA are being put in place.
Massive US debt and hyper inflation of US currency (our money supply doubled within three months)
Increasing Unemployment (real estimates are over 20%)
Take over of the farmland and food supply http://yupfarming.blogspot.com
Gun registration and the Patriots Act
Ordinary citizens placed on the terrorist watch list for voting third party
The World Trade Organization (1995) and “free trade agreements” caused a mass exodus of manufacturing. We had LESS manufacturing jobs in 1996 than in 1970 and that was before the “free trade agreements” kicked in to accelerate the exodus. With Cap and trade limits on energy and the phobia against nuclear, a recover such as happened after 1933 is unlikely especially since our education system ranks at the bottom of the heap with only two third world countries do worse then the USA.
America thinks they are great and invincible and unless they wake up and LOOK at what is happening this country will find itself like Iceland, sold out to the World Bank by its leaders. And yes I am diligently trying to wake people up.

page 973 : “adversely affected worker” (example–someone who has lost their job because Cap N Trade squeezed their place of employment go out of business, or their place of employment left America for a better place, etc., etc.) — shall receive 70 percent of their prior weekly wage, “payable for a period not longer than 156 weeks (3 years).”
pages 986-987 : the unemployed worker can submit up to $1,500 in job search reimbursements, and get another $1,500 to cover his moving expenses.
pages 1014-1016 : “Monthly Energy Refund,” for those with a gross income that “does not exceed 150 percent of the poverty line…a direct deposit,” of an undisclosed amount of money, deposited directly “into the eligible household’s designated bank account…” (i.e. welfare by another name, and you don’t have to stand in line for it)
pages 1083-1087 : new office will be created at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to “ensure a continuous level of high-quality data collected through a national observation and monitoring infrastructure…”
page 1102 : “Summer Institutes Program and the Regional Climate Center…The purpose of the program is to provide training and professional enrichment by providing opportunities for interaction between participants and climate scientists in a research and operational setting to-enable middle school and high school teachers to integrate weather and climate sciences into their curricula:”

Power generation in the US has declined 5% from April 2008 to 2009.

Destroying the economy leads to lower emissions, sure enough.
