My first 1/4 mil week

Despite my having to cut back on posting and moderation to nights and weekends in order to devote more time to my livelihood during these economic down times, WUWT continues to grow. Today I reached another new milestone, nearly 1/4 million page views (248,116) in a single week. This is counted up to 00 GMT which is 4PM PST. Below is my WordPress traffic graph from about 5:30PM PST today:

First I want to thank my moderation team for stepping in to manage the huge flood of comments we get, the regular contributors who offer interesting essays, and of course I thank you, my readers for your continued interest and visits. – Anthony

The reason you keep getting more hits from educated people is that the truth will always win especially in science! Have a merry xmas and happy new year

Alan S. Blue (21:19:02) :

Is this AMSR being “adjusted” to match NANSEN? Because the Arctic ice is just flatlining. I can get to the ‘most recent’ AMSR extent photos, but is there an easy way to do comparisons over time?

This should give you what you want. Daily Arctic Sea Ice Maps. http://igloo.atmos.uiuc.edu/cgi-bin/test/print.sh

Anthony, many of us here in the UK would join in congratulating you on your personal ‘hockey stick’. You are making a very important contribution to the debate on an issue of world importance. Please keep going at a time when the balance of that debate is so significantly shifting, not least thanks to your efforts (and those of Mother Nature). Yet again this week I paid semi-playful tribute to you in my column in the London Sunday Telegraph – http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/3883550/Facts-melted-by-global-warming.html#comments
and a very happy Christmas to you and yours.

There is an old church a few miles from my home that was the site of a skirmish in the American Revolution. Now, the most popular hymnal in the 18th century was edited by one Isaac Watts, and when the Patriots ran out of paper to tamp down their gunpowder, they made do by tearing pages out of the hymnals and using those. Their battle-cry was, ‘Give ’em Watts, boys! Give ’em Watts’
I propose that ‘Give ’em Watts!’ be made the official motto of climate sceptics.
Long may the banner of this excellent and informative blog wave!

Always fresh and interesting, with few of the ad hominem attacks that certain dogmatic factions appear to so quick to resort to. Well moderated and informative. Great blog Anthony. Possibly even iconic.

Anthony:
First, thank you and congrats. You deserve the success.
Second, I have an unrelated–and probably a dumb–question and couldn’t find any other way to contact you directly so I’m posting here. I’m having trouble understanding how your post where you cite four data sources (including GISS) showing significant cooling:
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2008/02/19/january-2008-4-sources-say-globally-cooler-in-the-past-12-months/
jibes with GISS’ claim that 2007 was the second warmest year on record:
http://www.columbia.edu/cu/news/08/01/giss.html
I know you’re busy, but can you answer or at least point me to where I can find the answer?
Thanks again for the help and for all of your hard work fighting the good fight.
Cheers!
