Reaching 100,000 does not automatically guarantee a debate.
2nd hoop
If it’s considered to be against government policy, the (cross-party) petitions committee tend to refuse.
3rd hoop
Find an MP,
Even if it gets permission to be debated, it would be done as a private member’s bill.
4th hoop
If selected, the debate is usually held in Westminster Hall, often for up to three hours. An MP chairs or leads the debate, other MPs can speak, and a government minister responds.
The debate raises the issue and records MPs’ views, but it does not automatically change the law or force the Government to act.
The Committee may also choose other actions, such as writing to a minister, requesting evidence, or referring the issue to another committee.
The whole bureaucratic process is designed to appear to be democratic while putting more stumbling blocks in the way to prevent changes to the status quo.
BUT, we don’t want it suspended … we need it repealed !!

Another total waste of time petition. It’s guaranteed to end in bugger all changing, as do they all.
Once a petition has been published on the website, it will be open to signatures for six months. At 10,000 signatures, the government will formally respond. At 100,000 signatures, the request will be considered by the Petitions Committee for debate in Parliament.
You get all those signatures and harrumphs, and then they might decide to have a short debate on it and then…

I gave up signing these a long time ago. Only direct action works – as seen in Gosport.
I am too weedy (and employed) to engage in direct action. So I signed. And I voted before that.
But of course it will do no good. Which is why I am turning into an accelerationist.
Do net zero and do it now! See where it gets you.
(Obviously I don’t want the UK to do it now. I want the Germans to set the example.)
I wouldn’t dream of telling anyone what to do regarding petitions.
I have come to the conclusion that they are a cynical (temporary) public pressure relief valve. Some petitions get well over a million signatures and change the square root of bugger all – aside from shutting the public up on a given issue, having had a debate on it.
