LIVE at 1PM EDT: NEVERMIND: Bill Gates Recants Climate Doomerism — The Climate Realism Show #180

After years of funding and fueling climate panic, Bill Gates has done an about-face. In a new 17-page memo released ahead of COP-30 in Brazil, Gates admits that rising temperatures will “not lead to humanity’s demise” and urges the climate community to drop its “doomsday outlook.” This marks a stunning shift for one of the world’s most prominent climate influencers and could signal a long-overdue return to honest, fact-based climate discussion.

In Episode #180 of The Climate Realism Show, guest Dr. Matthew Weilicki and hosts Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely break down what Gates’ reversal means for climate policy, science, and the green tech industry.

They also cover the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including a new study showing wind turbines are even worse for birds than previously believed, claims that climate change is to blame for higher Halloween candy prices, and why attributing the intensity of Hurricane Melissa to global warming is misguided. I’ve been posting for a couple years about my amazement that a family with a clinically depressed child suffering from the doomsday climate alarmist propaganda farce hasn’t sued some well-financed organization for fraud. Bill probably got to thinking about the same thing. He also knows he isn’t going to be producing nuclear powered electricity in Wyoming in 2030 and that phasing in SMR, the only realistic low carbon substitute for fossil fuels, is going to take “numerous” decades not years.

Assume age 20 in 1974 (younger cohort for “aware during TMI”)
Current age of assumed cohort: 71
Life expectancy of currently living cohort members: 83.7
“Actuarially, you may expect to live another 12.7 years until age 83.7”
Today + 12.7 years = 2038
Expected resumption of nuclear power industry in USA: 2038

I’m sorry but I’m not seeing any dramatic walk-back from Bill Gates. The first thing he says is this:

Climate change is serious, but we’ve made great progress. We need to keep backing the breakthroughs that will help the world reach zero emissions.

Sorry, but NO, “climate change” is NOT “serious,” especially the way he means it (i.e. caused by humans, which is all assertion and no evidence).

And “we” haven’t made ANY “progress,” if by “progress” he means (and he does) “reduction in human CO2 emissions.” He might as well be trying to buck up morale on a baseball team which is having its last at-bat with the bottom of its batting order coming up facing the best closer in the game while trailing 20-0.

Both the increase in atmospheric CO2 AND the warming of the climate SINCE THE LITTLE ICE AGE have been 100% BENEFICIAL. AND there is NO EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE that the former is “the cause of” the latter. That is nothing but an assumption based on a purely hypothetical effect. He’s still braying about a non-existent “problem.” WARMER IS BETTER. WHAT “PROBLEM” IS HE BLATHERING ABOUT?!

Then he proceeds to double down on the non-existent “NEED” to pursue idiotic non-solutions to the imaginary “problem.” And “breakthroughs?!” LMAO. WHAT “breakthroughs?!”

He’s still pimping ‘net zero’ idiocy and hasn’t walked anything back as far as I’m concerned.

I meant for the Climate Realism show, which I’m not seeing. I was able to google it though.

Maybe some high pay consultants got to him and told him that projects for blocking out the sun would be somewhat risky.

Funny how the loss of tax credits matched the timing for enlightenment.

He had to backtrack. He wants power for his AI crap centers.
Rewasteables can’t do it. He needs the reliable power sources he had condemned in the past.

IMHO, Gates went whole climate alarmist to promote his no (beyond) meat foods.
That enterprise failed. So now he has changed. The question is, what new enterprise will the be behind the push?

He has been buying a lot of farmland. Maybe he sees a market for real food.

Bill Gates is the former Prince Andrew of billionaire’s. I don’t believe in anything he has ever been involved in, or, with from chumming with Epstein to pushing fake vaccines and spotty science.

It’s not «we were never at war with Oceania» yet, but if Foundation-level members of the oligarchy openly endorse stepping down of this Great Cause as the new Consensus To Be, the turn is underway and goes on well enough. So, a done deed.
As to all the damages, power grabs and cartel takeovers, well… the policy will be, of course, «now let bygones be begones, it’s time to forget about this silly mistake and move onto the next Narrative, not dwell on the past». Just like it was with the whole C—VID mess.
Are you ready to rejoice?
