Good News (If You Like Freezing)! Antarctica Sees More Snowfall, Record Low Temps!

From the NoTricksZone

The Germany-base European Institute For Climate And Energy (EIKE) has issued its latest video featuring Antarctica. Good news! The alleged catastrophic warming remains a myth there.

It’s as cold as it ever was.

Lots of other publications showing Antarctic cooling. See my side bar for all posts about Antarctica.

Antarctica experienced record low temperatures in late 2023, particularly during late winter (July-August). These extreme cold events were observed across a wide area, impacting both East and West Antarctica, including the Ross Ice Shelf and the Antarctic Peninsula, according to The Watchers here.

The irony just couldn’t be greater, as all we hear in the fake media are stories about big icebergs breaking off somewhere, and everyone being (mis)led to believe the South Pole is melting when clearly as a whole it is not.

The Watchers’ story cites a peer reviewed study “Extreme Antarctic Cold of Late Winter 2023” by Tomanek et al published in Springer Nature.

Natural chaotic climate and weather change

According to The Watchers: “These atmospheric patterns caused severe and persistent cold, influencing weather systems and temperature variations across the continent. The study also found that southerly flows from the continent and calm air conditions contributed to these cold spells.”

Supply of stations disrupted by cold

The study’s  abstract states that the cold temperatures were measured across a broad area and hindered aircraft operations into McMurdo Station and Phoenix Airfield. When temperatures fall below −50°C, flight operations become risky because  of hydraulic fluids and fuel can turn into gel onboard aircraft.

How cold was it? “Antarctica as a whole experienced dramatic drops in temperature,” reports The Watchers. “This extreme cold coincided with record-breaking high temperatures in South America, particularly in Chile where temperatures reached -40 ℃.”

I know!! It is that hidden base of Gray Space Aliens sucking up all the heat!!!/s

This is great news – the Emperor Penguins will thrive. It must be so as I just read that warming and ice loss in Antartica was severely reducing the Emperor Penguin habitat. Or is this one of those climate change things where both warming and cooling result in ecological disaster?

What do you prefer? To have the food shop nearby or walk hours and hours ? Remember the kid is hungry.

Ironically, despite the record Winter cold in some parts of the Antarctic, 2023 had the lowest Winter sea ice extent. See the red dotted line in the graph – source NSIDC.

Antarctic sea ice presence is the same as Antarctic land snow & ice levels?

Who knew?

I see a published paper in your future.

(Or not)

Still don’t know why I should care.

Yeah, underwater volcanic activity can do that.

So the ocean even losing more heat without its ice protection.

Watch, some activist will blame it on the periodic tilt of the earth. Which is weird …. how do you have tilt when there’s no direction? sarc

Oh. My. God. It’s almost like it is winter or something!

Did Chile really have a record high of -40C? Seems pretty cold to me.

Definitely a bit Chile…

This extreme cold coincided with record-breaking high temperatures in South America, particularly in Chile where temperatures reached -40 ℃.

Something about that statement makes little sense

Or am I missing something???

I understand the need and habit of “cooling the past” in order to exaggerate a warming trend, but this is giving the game away a bit too much…

Assuming it’s a typo and should be +40C then it should be no surprise. Chile extends from 17° South to 56° South that’s several hundred miles north of the Tropic of Capricorn to Cape Horn. A record high for the country while snow is falling seems quite plausible

In much of Spain we have higher temperatures (extreme heat) than we ‘should’ have for this time of year. They forget to tell you that the air is coming straight from the Sahara, driven by a cold low off the coast of Portugal, making Portugal and part of Northern Spain colder than ‘normal’ for this time of year. But of course all those weathermen forget to tell you that.

Last year in Calgary, Alberta, we had record heat blamed on local climate change. Except the hot air came from California where it came from the Pacific where it came from less clouds.

Just like more crime is our fault when the criminals are from illegal immigrants who are from cartels.

The inability of the mass population to think critically or skeptically boggles my brain.

So just when you need that CO2 to radiate all that heat back to Earth it doesn’t work ?

From the Watcher’s article

temperatures as low as -66.4 °C (152 °F).

with a minimum temperature of -66.4 °C (152 °F), the region’s second-coldest on record.

recorded its lowest temperature, -79.4 °C (175 °F)

particularly in Chile where temperatures reached -40 ℃ (-104 °F).

I’m not sure how reliable the Watcher is as a source.

I’m pretty sure the record -40°C in Chile should be +40°C. Wikipedia says of the 2023 heatwave

Between July and November 2023, a heat wave hit South America, leading to temperatures in many areas above 95 °F (35 °C) in midwinter, often 40–45 °F (22–25 °C) degrees above typical. The heat wave was especially severe in northern Argentina and Chile, along neighboring areas in and around the Andes Mountains. Some locations set all-time heat records.[1] Several states also had the hottest September temperatures in history, often reaching more than 40°C.[2]

“This extreme cold coincided with record-breaking high temperatures in South America, particularly in Chile where temperatures reached -40 ℃.”

-40C (aka -40F) was a record-breaking HIGH temperature?

June 15, 2025 12:14 pm

Well, more snow is clearly the result of climate change. So is less.
See how this works?

June 15, 2025 3:34 pm

Temperatures going down (,1980 to 1999), temperatures going up (1999 to present), the rise equals the drop.

No pattern. No trend. Looks like to me last half of drop cycle and first half of rise cycle. 60 year cycle?

There is no conclusion here about trends. Except that the warning trends postulated by alarmists are visible or visible-yet.

Like so many alarmist claims, the data doesn’t support it …. Unless you cherry pick an area and time. Which alarmists say is reasonable because today is special and history is just misinformation.

It’s impossible to discuss climate change with a believer.
