Trump Signs Executive Order: Fahrenheit Now “AmeriTemp”

Washington, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order today renaming the Fahrenheit temperature scale “AmeriTemp.” “I did it, folks, it’s official”, straight from the White House.

“Europe’s metric system, total disaster,” Trump said at the signing. “Their climate scientists can’t even pick a name for temperature. Centigrade? Celsius? Who knows? They’re confused, weak. I’m fixing that with AmeriTemp—best name, strong, all-American. Done.”

The order says every federal agency has to use “AmeriTemp” now. Documents, weather reports, everything. It’s still 32 for freezing, 212 for boiling—perfect numbers, tremendous numbers—but now it’s got a name that wins.

“And who’s this Kelvin guy?” Trump added. “Nobody knows him. Some scientist, probably a loser. We don’t need that. AmeriTemp’s for the people, my people, the best people.”

The White House says it’s about leadership. America’s number one, even in temperature. Critics are complaining, like always, but supporters love it. Agencies are moving fast to make it happen. That’s it, folks—AmeriTemp, here to stay.

They checked my temperature and it was 97.6 No problem. I love miles, gallons, inches, feet, acres, and especially the Ameritemp scale. Metric sucks as befits the French who fail at everything. Now they arrest their political leaders in France if they aren’t toeing the leftist line.

Let freedom ring.

Yeah, it sounds like France has turned into a dictatorship of the Far Left.

The Left doesn’t like being questioned or being out of power. They lash out violently to prevent such things.

And Leftist violence is not limited to France, of course.

Can we come up with something that would be measured in Trumps?

Let’s measure the counties in the United States that voted for Trump in “Trumps”.

Republicans won about 2,500 counties throughout the United States and the Democrats won about 500 counties.

So that will be designated as 2,500 Trumps, compared to 500 Democrat Losers.

How about credibility?

As in VP Vance now has a credibility rating of -17 Trumps based on his claims that no classified information was discussed in the high-level, real-time meeting to discuss the on-going military stike against Houthi rebels in Yemen, as accidentally disclosed to and revealed by The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg.

And yes, I recognize that this scale will not have positive values.

…, as accidentally disclosed to and revealed by The Atlantic editor-in-chief

If the text had been intercepted, but the circumstances and location were not to be found, and required the ‘cipher’ or key to provide the context to make it classified, then who was responsible for disclosing classified information? The text I have read was sufficiently cryptic that without the ‘help’ of The Atlantic, the lack of important detail left it below the level of needing classification.

Your “if” hypothesis does not apply, so it represent nothing more than a weak attempt at deflection.

The Signal chat text messages, in clear English, accidentally revealed to The Atlantic editor-in-chief (who had no DoD security clearance), have been judged by those not needing to cover their @sses to have been military information that should have been classified . . . indeed “highly classified”. See https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/03/26/politics/the-atlantic-publishes-signal-messages-yemen-strike

BTW, are you aware the The Atlantic has NOT published all the text messages received in that Signal chat, citing they independently judged some to be just “too sensitive” to make public?

Please provide the classified information Vance put out during the conversation.

I don’t believe you have any, you are just blowing smoke.

At one point during this conversation, some of the participants discussed going to a classified setting for some of the discussions. So the conversation they were having was not classified, otherwise, they would be using a different method of conversing.

Nobody listening to that conversation could use the information made available to thwart the American attack or to anticipate the American attack in any particular.

You could prove me wrong, but you can’t.

Ha-hah! I don’t have to “prove” you wrong . . . it’s already been done here: https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/03/26/politics/the-atlantic-publishes-signal-messages-yemen-strike
as well as at many other websites.

Among the various expert sources consulted in the referenced CNN article, when asked about the details revealed in the Signal chat, CNN military analyst retired Col. Cedric Leighton said the details have ‘all the elements of a war plan, and what that means is, all of these elements mean that this stuff is classified. Full stop. There is no question this is classified.

It appears you just bought this (mis)Administration’s party line unquestioningly and without seeking an independent check on the relevant facts. Sad, because it’s not like
a) you haven’t been advised:
“Test all things; hold fast what is good.” — Bible, NKJV, 1 Thessalonians 5:21
and
b) you haven’t been informed as to the consequence of not following the above advice:
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” — Bible, NKJV, Romans 1:22

Just to be perverse, and to be appropriately dressed down for April Fools Day, I’m tempted to suggest something that would give me an unbeatable record for the number of down-votes.

I appreciate many of the things that Trump has done and probably will do. However, I think that some of you have forgotten that he can’t walk on water.

On the night of April 1/2, thunderstorms will begin in Texas , which will develop as far as the Great Lakes. This weather will continue for several days as the front stops in the central US.

Yeah, the Dry Line of that weather front is getting near to my location in Oklahoma now.

Our risk is less than those further to the East, as the storm will ramp up as the day goes along and by that time most of it should have cleared my area. Once the dry line passes by, we can relax a little bit. No so for people to the East as they should be on the lookout for very severe weather coming their way.

Be careful out there.

So how now do we label temps?
K = Kelvin
C = Celsius or centigrade
F = Fahrenheit
A = AmeriTemp?

I do so hope this is an April Fools gag.

The centigrade designation was long ago officially replaced with Celsius by the international committee on standards.

Maybe this will inspire Canada to abandon the metric system and switch back to Fahrenheit or something in line with US. As I recall, the initial change was made when Trudeau Sr. was Prime Minister because he felt it would pave the way for more trade with Europe. Except he soon found that European tariffs were even higher than American ones; yet Canadians have been stuck with a peculiar hybrid system for measuring weights, distances, lengths, temperatures, etc. Ask any Canuck his height, weight, home area, tire size and inflation pressure, among other things and he’ll answer using the old system. Only grocery items are still sold in liters and grams/kilograms, and I can recall when the big changeover was made, prices remained the same for smaller amounts even when the metric versions took over as the producers claimed it cost them more for converting the packaging which the consumers naturally had to pay for.

April fools, but it would be a brilliant move. All the little princesses in Harvard would indignantly move to Celsius in a few months. Then again, the actual problems are caused by, um, cadres as usual. Increasingly unable to convert measures, among the other things.
