Daily Mail Ramp Up Climate Alarm With More Lies

From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-14337241/Climate-change-outbreaks-DIARRHOEA-scientists.html

I’m not even going to comment on this latest absurd report from The Mail. It shows just how far the MSM has descended into oublishing such puerile nonsense. It is little wonder that very few people now believe what the media tells them anymore.

But the very first paragraph is very revealing:

From the unprecedented heatwave in 2022 to the deadly Storm Eowyn just this month, climate change is already wreaking havoc on Britain’s weather.

The summer of 2022 was not even as hot as 1976, which rather destroys the narrative.

But where do they get the idea that Storm Eowyn was caused by climate change?

As a minute’s research would have told the pathetic journalist who wrote this drivel, Eowyn was a run of the mill storm, the sort which has happened many times in the past.

But it certainly proves the point of what I have been saying for years now – that the Met Office’s naming of storms and the use of recently introduced clifftop and hilltop sites to produce scary headlines has now created an atmosphere of hysteria, upon which the corrupt media feed.

Of course, I might be wrong.

But I have not seen anything from the Met Office so far that puts Eowyn into perspective, or acknowledges the fact that there is no trend towards more intense or frequent storms.

Indeed, they have just published a new post on their blog, “Is further stormy weather on the way?”, which would have offered the chance to put the record straight.

Could the UK actually get colder with global warming?
Beyond a “tipping point”, this loop could lead Amoc to runaway collapse.
“We really want to avoid a tipping point because then there’s nothing we can do about it,” warns David Thornalley, professor of ocean and climate science at University College London.

“But I have not seen anything from the Met Office so far that puts Eowyn into perspective.”

They/BBC have, main claim strongest storm for a decade.

Lots of minorish ( locality/short record period based) lowest low pressure/wind speed record claims. But nothing unprecedented overall.

There is no evidence CO2-driven climate change is real or that it affects anything.

The Mail often publishes silly sensational stories. But today it also has a largely factual one, about the ongoing war on cars and driving that the current UK Labour Government is conducting. Which was enthusiastically started by the previous Conservative Government and has the support of the Liberals, so this is not just Labour, its the entire UK political class.

The numbers are quite striking:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/cars/article-14346519/car-tax-hikes-increase-april-drivers.html?ico=mol_desktop_home

The UK Net Zero project is really starting to bite. Prediction: whatever they do, its not going to make people buy EVs in the numbers that the policy requires. And they seem unable to form consistent plans. So what they are doing will make cars unaffordable either to buy or to run, but they will not have built any public transport alternative to replace them. Nor will they have enough electricity capacity to charge the ones they do get sold, or the heat pumps they are trying so hard to get people to buy. They are trying to move power generation to wind and solar without providing for intermittency. And so on, its a mess, its like they have sat down over a glass of wine, written down some ideas, and then enacted them without more thought, including whether they are all consistent with each other.

And what is coming towards the UK political class, which they don’t seem to have noticed, is Reform. Trump, with British characteristics!

What must happen, as Trump has done, is that the vast self-serving bureaucracy which basically ignores all elected representatives must be decimated. Only then will facts and reason prevail over ideology.

I am not so sure.

I’ve seen a government shut down a whole ministry and start up a different one. We now have a secretary of state for energy security and net zero. . Just close it.

Same with all the diversity and wokery. Shut down the relevant political institutions and install something more fit for purpose.

It is actually easier than changing legislation.

Obviously the disastrous climate change act needs repealing and there will be shrieks of ‘sanctions’ from the EU. But so what?

UK documents on net zero run to 10,000 pages and they still keep on coming. So many glasses of wine have been consumed that no one can remember a thing about what they say except they think they had a good time.

When you welcome idiots and lunatics to get into your head it is almost impossible to get them out without help and our NHS is not healthy enough to cope. Britain’s idiots in chief at the moment – Starmer and Miliband are past recovery since they are not respected by the people who should have counted but didn’t – the vast majority of voters who didn’t vote for them.

Meanwhile the storms which have battered the British Isles throughout history continue to appear and our Woke just love another chance to virtue signal. One day a penny may drop and, hopefully for all our sakes, very soon.

The reason why they are likely trying to claim that the summer of 2022 was unprecedented was because of the mini heatwave during 18th-19th of July that year. Where the temp on the 19th was unprecedented here in the UK, as l have never experienced such heat in the UK before that event.
The summer of 2022 was certainly a good one but it certainly was not unprecedented. The summers of 1976 and 2018 are more likely contenders for that claim.

The claim that storm Eowyn had any link to CO2 climate warming is utter crap.
The cause of the powerful jet stream that powered up storm Eowyn was due to the outbreak of cold Arctic air down across North America and the Western North Atlantic. Which made for a large contrast in air temps over that region. There is zero evidence to link this weather pattern set up to any claimed CO2 climate warming.

Storm Eowyn was a powerful storm.
But in no way it was unprecedented, weather history plainly shows that.
I think its because a wind gust in Northern Ireland hit a record high of 114 mph is the reason their making such a big deal of it.

As someone recently commented to me, it wasn’t anything like as bad as the storm which hit Scotland in 1968.
20 people died from the storm, with 9 dead in Glasgow. 700 people were left homeless.
In Glasgow alone, over 300 houses were destroyed and 70,000 homes were damaged.
On Tiree, a wind speed of 118mph (190kmh) was recorded.

Search engine definition:

“Is World Weather Attribution legit?

WWA’s rapid attribution studies follow established methods, which have been peer-reviewed and assessed as scientifically reliable. All WWA studies that have undergone peer-review have remained largely unchanged.”

Weather Attribution is a bad joke. These fools see CO2 in every thunder storm. They are paid to do so.

An even bigger problem is the Media quote these fools as being experts, and their lies about CO2 causing extreme weather, as being legitimate. I saw a quote from these fools just yesterday in an article.

Weather Attribution is the equivalent of an astrologer telling you your future based on your birth date.

Weather Attribution is pure speculation, assumptions and unsubstantiated assertions. It’s the last desperate hope of Climate Alarmists who can’t make their case about CO2, so they just make it up using weather attribution.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Today we have stationed reporter Bob Jones at the corner of Fifth Street and Main to monitor rush hour traffic and report on automobile accidents and pedestrian deaths. In the last hour there have been none, but we have video of several near misses. We will share those videos right after this word from our sponsors.

We’re back. Traffic has been light so far this morning and we are sad to report that there have been no accidents or deaths. While waiting for some excitement we will review this year’s accident and deaths record to date and show video of a horrible five car pileup from three years ago.

Stay tuned.

As one who was in central Edinburgh during storm Eowyn, I can confirm that this was no ordinary storm. The suddenness and intensity of the gusts was like nothing else I’ve ever experienced before. My wife was literally blown off her feet just outside our hotel and suffered a fractured arm; I struggled to keep my feet and was only saved by some passing railings as I was blown by. And that was early on when the general wind speeds were still fairly low.

Having said which, I agree that a single weather event, even one like this, does not constitute a trend and drawing conclusions of the sort loved by the meejah is guesswork, not science.

It’s becoming more obvious that at least 3 British new outlets—the BBC, The Guardian, and the Daily Mail—are engaged in some sort of contest as to who can spread as much climate hysteria as possible. The suspicion is that the UK government and various environmental organizations are funding these outlets as long as they spread these distortions and outright. lies. So it’s wise to disregard most of their claims unless they can can be corroborated by more credible organizations.
