Live at 1pm Eastern, 10 am Pacific, COP 29: Inside the Disaster in Baku – The Climate Realism Show #136

The Heartland Institute

The latest annual United Nations climate conference, COP29, is about to wrap up in Baku, Azerbaijan – the second year in a row it has been held in a “petro state.” Add in the election of Donald Trump just before they convened, and it was a pretty grim affair if you are a global climate alarmist. But for some people it was a blast, including Craig Rucker and Marc Morano of CFACT, who attended as they usually do. They will provide us a report from the ground on what even supporters of the global climate command-and-control agenda are admitting was a disaster.

On Episode #136 The Heartland Institute’s H. Sterling Burnett, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely will also cover some of the Crazy Climate News of the week. Join us LIVE at 1 p.m. ET so you can leave your questions and comments for the show in the chat.

This show will be archived in WUWT Climate TV, a collection of over six hundred videos, featuring new interviews and analysis, and covering dozens of media sources discussing, debating and analyzing the latest in climate science, climate politics, and energy policy, including topics concerning temperature, sea level, polar bears, ocean acidification, extreme weather, censorship, wild fires, and more.

Speaking of realism, check out Robert Bryce’s article on international agreements and emissions at Substack.

He says:

The lack of substantive action at Baku provides yet more proof of Roger Pielke’s Iron Law of Climate, which says when forced to choose between economic growth and action on climate change, policymakers will always choose economic growth.

I’m afraid that its not true. Or not always true. The UK is as we speak in the throes of wrecking its economy and social welfare in the name of climate. Without its actions even being able to have any effect at all on climate!

The problem which Pielke didn’t take account of in formulating that law was the waves of collective insanity to which our species is prone. China seems to be immune to this one. But its not been immune to far more damaging collective madnesses than the climate one. Consider the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. Russia is immune to climate. But consider the great purges. Germany, of course….

It seems that these waves of collective irrationality strike every so often, and its almost as if countries have a need to get behind one, any one, so they just pick whatever is going around or make one up for themselves. The UK is in the middle of a couple at the moment, gender and climate. At least so far they are not murdering each other.

Though they are on the brink of freezing each other to death.

We can only hope that Mark and Craig are approaching the time when they no longer feel attending the COP gabfests is newsworthy because the whole climate scam is condemned to history.

Will the scam outlive Al Gore?
