There has never been a clearer choice in a major country’s election when it comes to climate change policy than the choice facing US voters this Tuesday.

Do we dare to hope that the years of insane Green New Scam/Inflation Creation Act will soon draw to a close?

So, Kemi Badenoch is the new Tory leader.

She described Net Zero as Unilateral Economic Disarmament. An apt description.

It’s a first – a black African immigrant woman leading a Westminster party. And Labour…

Keir Starmer has been urged to kick out a Labour MP who shared a social media post accusing Kemi Badenoch of representing ‘white supremacy in blackface’.

There is no good reason to be concerned about emissions of CO2, CH4, or N2O or any other similar IR-active substance, in respect to warming or any other climate-related trend.

These molecules do not add any energy of their own to the atmosphere. The “climate” movement has been based on the misconception that investigation into climate system responses to incremental CO2 can begin with the “forcing” + “feedback” framing and end up with a valid result. No. That is the circular reasoning at the root of the debate.

Sure, if nothing else changes, adding CO2 would slightly impede cooling from the surface to space.

But adding CO2 would also promote the general circulation by improving the radiative coupling to the surface, so that the atmosphere becomes a bit more responsive to daytime surface heating. It is important to understand the concept of energy conversion.

So no one “knows” that “warming” should be the expected result down here, i.e. the accumulation of absorbed energy in the land + ocean + atmosphere system as sensible heat.

Please consider these very short time-lapse videos to get the picture. Each video has a text description which is important to read. Three videos use the NOAA images from GOES East from the “CO2 Longwave IR” band 16. The fourth video uses the “Vertical Integral of Energy Conversion” parameter from the ERA5 reanalysis.

The oil and gas lobby is spending big to help Trump’s campaign

Gas prices are falling as the world transitions to renewable energy and fossil fuel companies are betting on Trump to pump the brakes

As I said, the demand destruction sends them panicking

And here are a few of the things that scare them:

RFK is making a campaign pledge, on behalf of the Trump election effort, to reduce regulations on small farmers in the US. This may be an opportunity to remove all the mandates (chokeholds) on these small operators to control their CO2 emissions. Lets allow the little guys to run their reliable diesel harvesters and all the tried and true equipment. For the big corporate DEI farms, keep the mandates on them to go electric and abide by all the CO2 mandates currently in place.

UK combined wind/solar production as I write (1:45 pm), 2.67 GW, 7.9% of demand.

Last Thursday was Halloween. Where I live, just north of Chicago, it was a cool and windy day. I remember one Halloween back in the late 1950’s when I was about seven or eight years old a friend and I went out trick or treating after school and went door to door until it was too dark to continue, and we had to come home. I remember that it was warm outside, and I didn’t need a jacket.

My point is that there has been no change in the weather between that Halloween oh so many years ago and this current Halloween. If anything, this year’s Halloween was colder. Yet they claim the oceans are boiling, the planet has a fever, the polar bears are going extinct, the glaciers are disappearing in Tibet and in Glacial National Park, and people are getting athletes foot in record numbers. Scratch that last one.

The US seems to have a choice between an authoritarian and a Machiavellian. Tough choice, no wonder it’s split about 50/50.

I pick my surgeons and politicians based on their performance not personality. Arrogance is a required character trait for success in some occupations: surgeon, politician, airline pilot, etc. Performance, performance, performance!

WUWT readers might remember my July 2024 guest post about the group named “Public Citizen” who came up with a proposal on how Arizona prosecutors might be able to file charges of 2nd degree homicide against fossil fuel execs. These nuts are at it again, regarding a new proposal variant given to New York prosecutors. Please see my post at my GelbspanFiles blog:

In the coming days, the center of the polar vortex will be over northern Russia, which means a sharp frost in Russia in November.

I would like to think, due to recent energy supply developments,
that the Net Zero doctoring, is now in its final death throes.
If all goes as it should then the idiocy, will be at an end in less than 2 years.

There’s been the usual “climate change doom” hype surrounding the closure of the Alpe du Grand Serre ski resort in France. It’s located at a low elevation in southeastern France, in what is naturally either a maritime or Mediterranean climate. This should come as no surprise.

I live in Colorado. I moved here in the 1990s. People would tell me that it snowed a lot more in the 80s than in the 1990s. That’s probably related to the shift toward more La Niña events at the end of the 1980s. There’s a lot of hype about how snowfall in the western US has dropped by over 20% since 1980. Well no surprise, Sherlock. I can say that since moving here in the 90s, it seems like Colorado is getting more snow these days. This week is going to be a good one for the high elevation resorts, as well as the Front Range and Eastern Plains.

Are there any peer reviewed papers that that I show my climate panicked friends that CO² doesn’t cause significant warming

Does anyone have a reference to a published scientific paper that shows a correlation coefficient number for the relationship betweem CO2 in the air and one of the global surface temperature compilations, especially one for land only? I seek this for an article in prep for WUWT but my searches are shooting blanks. Geoff S
