India Monsoon Drying Up, Says BBC

From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

.

The good news about the Indian monsoon seems to have disappeared into a black hole as far as the BBC is concerned. Searches on Google fail to bring up any BBC reports on the first page at least. And there is nothing at all on the BBC News website, when India is searched:

.

There is however one report which does appear, from two years ago:

https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20220517-the-uncertain-fate-of-asias-monsoons

As is often the case with the BBC’s coverage of climate, the opposite is true. Far from drying up, India’s monsoons have been getting wetter since the 1960s:

…and another one bites the dust…

To >> Chris Bowen – How’s that Renewable / Green Energy Superpower Australia going?

Energy giant Origin retreats from flagship green hydrogen project as hopes for fuel fade

One of Australia’s biggest energy companies has pulled out of plans to build the country’s biggest green hydrogen plant, saying the fuel is too expensive to produce. — Wow who knew!!!

In a blow to the federal government’s ambitions of developing a green hydrogen industry in Australia, Origin Energy today said it was walking away from a planned project near Newcastle in New South Wales.

Hydrogen was a non-starter the last time the media decided it was time to hype that technology as the wave of the future. While it was possible to create a reliable platform using the Ballard fuel cell, the excessive costs related to the provision of the fuel killed the project back in the 90s. Add to that the declining price of fossil fuels (thanks to improved extraction technologies like fracking), and the only way anyone gets into hydrogen fuel is when the government funds it all.

I always thought that a solid oxide fuel cell would be perfect for a hybrid. SOFCs take time to warm up but are very efficient once running. You could use battery to get started then let the SOFC take over to recharge the battery. In operation the drive train would be all electric with the battery providing power and the SOFC providing providing float to keep the battery charged. Could use any range of liquid fuels from LPG to fuel oil.

The long held policy at BBC news is, never let the facts get in way of a good story….

Why does the BBC do this all the time? What is the motivation? It can’t be the destruction of capitalism. Is it because good news is no news and they have to sell their space ? Or is it the guilt fixation of an infestation of lefty middle class female journos? So worrying

Did I not read somewhere (and I could easily be wrong) that the BBC decided nearly 20 years ago that “the science is settled” (sic) and that they only reported weather stories under the banner of “climate change”

It almosts depends upon which day of the week it is with these claims.

“”A new study projects that summers across the continent will become drier for most of Europe through the century. Furthermore, human induced climate change is expected to increase the frequency of extremely dry conditions across all of Europe.””
https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/about-us/news-and-media/media-centre/weather-and-climate-news/2021/drier-european-summers-projected-under-human-induced-climate-change

“”Britain’s notoriously wet and cold climate is changing – you won’t like what replaces it
The UK had the driest start to a year since the 1970s in 2022″”
https://theconversation.com/britains-notoriously-wet-and-cold-climate-is-changing-you-wont-like-what-replaces-it-188022

Now of course it’s going to be “wetter” – Griff claimed 6% wetter! All change:

“”UK getting more hot and more wet days – Met Office – BBCUK getting more hot and more wet days””
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c147v82gxp2o

“”How the UK is going to get even wetter – due to climate change””
https://inews.co.uk/news/science/uk-even-wetter-climate-change-3301830

The BBC is a complete waste of time:

And why should we believe projections for the rest of the century from an organisation that struggles to predict the weather accurately 48 hours ahead?

They are heading for utter irrelevancy.

So many people are either dispensing with the news, politics and opinion altogether, or are getting it online, from places like this.

The more even BBC entertainment and drama pushes the hard left woke line, the more people are simply switching off.

There were a couple stories the last couple days about “activists” destroying stuff (soup on Van Gogh, defacing Stonehenge, etc.) and Mann’s brand of activist scientism. I’m not British or European and don’t exactly know how the BBC license fees and stuff work, but it seems to me that nothing will change with the BBC until there is true, popular activism and masses of people stop paying their BBC license fees in protest. Look at the ILA dockworkers strike here in the US. Corrupt as hell, but organized and effective.

Lammy: Lebanese Should Go Home to Southern Israel
https://order-order.com/2024/10/02/lammy-lebanese-should-go-home-to-southern-israel/

Business and Energy Minister Sarah Jones was asked on Times Radio if there was a suitable reason for someone like Jonathan Reynolds to accept tickets to Glastonbury, seeing as if a corporate donated them for business it would seem like corruption and if they were donated for entertainment it would look like a freebie…

“”Well, I think that is the question that the prime minister is asking through the new set of principles… I think the question is now being asked. And that is the question that the prime minister is asking, as well as other people, for what purpose are we going to these events? Let’s look at these issues.””

October 3, 2024 3:48 am

I don’t like the look of that trend line which is extended over the full range of the data.

I hope it’s not the basis for saying “India’s monsoons have been getting wetter since the 1960s”. In fact the graph shows nothing much either way, though if you screw your eyes up just right to look at it you could say the wetter excursions have diminished since the 1960s.

I am as keen as anyone to hold the Beeb’s feet to the fire, but I’d like to be confident the counter-claim is robust.

Trip on psychedelics, save the planet: the offbeat solution to the climate crisis

Proponents say using hallucinogens can spark ‘consciousness shifts’ to inspire climate-friendly behaviors

Thousands gathered for New York City’s annual Climate Week last week to promote climate solutions, from the phaseout of fossil-fuel subsidies to nuclear energy to corporate-led schemes like carbon credits. Others touted a more offbeat potential salve to the crisis: psychedelics.

What would we expect from the BBC, and we should soon expect The Guardian to come up with a backup story. Except if the monsoon is drying up, why is cereal grains production throughout South Asia reaching new heights? And why, according to the FAO, has overall global agricultural output actually tripled during the past half century? And isn’t better nutrition largely responsible for a steady increase in population worldwide? We have to expect the leftists mainstream media to dish out misinformation and distortions like the above because much of their funding comes from anti-capitalist sources which pressures them to spew out a steady flow of such drivel.
