No Significant Precipitation Trend Change in Germany Since Recordings Began In 1881

From the NoTricksZone

By P Gosselin

More drought and more extreme rainfall are occurring : that’s what Germans are often told by the climate hysterical media and activists. Yet, a look at precipitation data for Germany over the past 140 years shows no significant change at all.

Hat-tip: Tim Reality at Twitter

The above chart shows the mean amount of precipitation for Germany from 1881 – 2019. Source: Tim Reality here.

A look at extreme precipitation events as defined as 30 mm of precipitation or more also show no trend increase in extreme events:

Based on the weather data from 78 measurement stations of the German DWD national weather service. Chart: Spiegel

Finally we look at the number of days in a year that saw 10 mm or more rain, since 1950:

There’s been a slight but still statistically insignificant increase in very rainy days. Source: Tim Reality at Twitter.

A Google search on “The Flood of 1900” “The Flood of 1901” “The Flood of 1902” and so on finds a flood somewhere every year. Claiming that current floods are due to “Climate Change” ignores history.

History debunks human-caused climate change alarmism.

alarmism is about the future. history doesnt debunk what hasnt happened yet.

did you all fail logic.

The past establishes a baseline to project the trajectory of events. If the baseline is ignored every event can lead to alarmist panic of acceleration. It is not a flaw in logic to refute alarmism with past history.

If a climate alarmist, based on a weather service prediction, claims an “unprecedented” weather event will occur ‘tomorrow,’ and attributes it to “anthropogenic global warming,” but the large event ‘tomorrow’ turns out to have occurred at least once before according to historical records, doesn’t that count as debunking “human-caused climate change alarmism?”

I don’t think the Moosh actually failed these subjects.

He just never heard of them and so never even attempted them.

What he is obviously a failure at, is coherent English.

It’s been 70 years since CO2 began rising. Since the past shows that nothing unusual has happened in those 70 years, the claims that something awful is about to happen are discredited.
The past shows that alarmism has no basis in reality, no matter how much your paycheck requires you to believe otherwise.

PS: You need to take lessons on sophistry from Nick. This attempt was pathetic.

No, but I think you did. History tends to foretell the likelihood of future events, especially when there is no evidence to support alarmism.

Steven you are an idiot. It’s almost like you and the CAGW terrorists want these types of events to happen even if it causes widespread destruction and suffering just to prove a point right.

How long have models been predicting increased whatever by 20whenever. About 25 years?

When are they going to put in an appearance? There must be a definite date for something somewhere, especially as you keep telling us they will.

So alarmism is ALL JUST FAKERY.

It’s about things that haven’t happened, and there is just silly little computer games saying “might” happen.

That is a VERY STUPID cult religion.. even someone as scientifically and logically illiterate as you are, must realise that.

It is based on the teachings of Nostra-dumbass. !

Some climate change alarmism such as the many failed predictions (100 percent wrong, so far) are about the past, not the future.

“alarmism is about the future. history doesnt debunk what hasnt happened yet.”

Climate Alarmism is about claiming that various weather events are unprecedented and are therefore caused by human-derived CO2. Like the hyperbole about Hurricane Hilary.

But, history shows Hurricane Hillary is not an unprecedented event so history debunks these climate alarmist claims of unprecedented weather.

Is that logical enough for you?

I know this is like beating a dead horse, or at least a brain dead horse; but maybe you could go to the paleoclimatology reference page and explain a couple of graphs!
In particular, I would like to hear your explanation for the connection between CO2 concentrations and temperature fluctuations shown in Nasif Nahle’s 2009 graph going back 543,000,000 years; and the excellent graph from Scotese and Bremer going back 600,000,000 years!
Two questions in particular for you: what has caused the near constant decrease in CO2 concentrations for the last 150,000,000 years, and at what point in geological history have CO2 concentrations and temperatures been lower than the present?
I’ll wait!

And yet another attempt as sophistry fails.
The claims of the alarmists are that these events are unprecedented.
Showing that these events are not only not unprecedented, but are in fact common, is not a straw man argument.

Don’t confuse people with facts and data – it just feels worse today.

Psychologists have a term for this phenomenon: “recency bias”. Humans have a natural tendency to discount the effects of long ago and exaggerate the effects of current or recent events. For instance, the tendency of each generation of humans to discount what prior generations experienced and believe that only their generation can understand and appreciate what their generation is experiencing.

The warmunistas and their handmaidens in the mainstream media make a living from recency bias.

“No Significant” change = disaster.

Well, if you’re pushing a climate catastrophe you have to make it sound convincing.

August 19, 2023 7:11 am

Without exception, whenever a weather event occurs cue the instant screaming about “unprecedented”, never happened before.
Then I wait a few days and the usual suspects post data and facts that refute it all.

“The fire in Maui is unprecedented”!!

Actually, Hawaii is one of the most fire prone states in the USA, and they were warned many times over the years this exact thing would happen due to several non climate factors.

“Tropical storm in Nevada is unprecedented”!!
Actually has happened lots in the past but not since 1939. Could it be that is because it was warmer in the 1930s?

As always, I appreciate data

The funniest headline is when they claim “worst since…” and then say its due to climate change.

Its extraordinary how the general public and the reporters seem blind to the fact that the “worst since” story is a demonstration of a logical bust that actually refutes the climate change line.
