Climate alarmists insist there’s a “scientific consensus” that says climate change is a crisis, and man causes it! Researcher Judith Curry tells me, “it’s a manufactured consensus.”
Curry was a department chair at Georgia Tech when she spread alarm about climate change. The media loved her then. She claimed there was an increase in hurricane intensity. But then some researchers pointed out gaps in her research: years with low levels of hurricanes. “Like a good scientist, I went in and investigated.” When she acknowledged a lack of evidence that hurricane intensity had increased, she was ruthlessly attacked by climate alarmists.
Her career suffered. Now Curry reveals nefarious ways “the science” about climate change has been corrupted.
Nothing we didn’t already know. And nothing that we will see on the nightly news either.
The (rhetorical) question in my mind is: “Today, in the age of smartphones and the ubiquitous internet, who is watching the ‘nightly nooze’ anymore?”

Excellent piece by John Stossel. He is one of the few people in journalism who seems to be trustworthy and has his head screwed on straight. Anyone who thinks that science is not corruptible by the money and political power of governments and the U.N. is naive and foolish.
It would appear that politicians are straddling the fence between climate alarmism and keeping the fossil fuels flowing to prevent economic collapse. If they were not doing that, we would be in a state of economic collapse by now. That does not mean however the the alarmists won’t stop trying.
A mass media that is ignorant and foolish enough to be compliant mouthpieces for this alarmism only makes matters worse. The political bent of the media (or at least the leftist outlets) and their Orwellian Big Brother nature make them perfect for the goals and agenda of climate alarmism. We humans can still succumb to the mass hysteria and group think created by the mass media just as much as we always could. Thinking for oneself is thought-crime.
Perhaps the massive cost of Net Zero will eventually take its toll on the alarmism over time, but it probably will not die out anytime soon.
The old communists morphed into the radical environmental movement following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Gorbachev went from communist dictator to environmental champion and steward. They seek to destroy capitalism through any means necessary and these useful idiots on the left stupidly play along. None of this nonsense has anything to do about the climate or the environment, but it is all meant to destroy capitalism, free market economies, and middle class autonomy.

Or, maybe, they are all on board with USSR-style communist ‘central planning’? I think the latter is actually the case.

Del Bigtree is another one of the few trustworthy individuals that used to be prominent and atleast somewhat tolerated by the MSM.
But that was then and this is now. The MSM is currently the most disgusting group of people and organizations in modern times. I expect many politicians to be corrupt but I thought eventually there would be enough individuals with a conscience and a brain that would start telling the truth in the MSM.

Judith Curry is the very rare honest climate scientist. I used to frequent Steve McKintyre’s Climate Audit site when he was debunking the garbage research presented by Michael Mann. At that time, Curry was still on the alarmist side. But Steve won her over with incontestable facts and she did an about face. But what has happened to her just goes to prove the old adage that no good deed goes unpunished!
Maybe it was Steve McIntyre who won her over. But listening to her here it seems there were many factors including fire from the left. I’d give her some credit for revising her theories. Regarding McIntyre, I appreciated – and miss – his in-depth perusal of the data. He posted his topics and wrote densely supported summaries and then gave careful consideration and replies to smart contributors. He corresponded with and sought data from the other side. Discussions on a topic could last for days, and as a pure outsider I found myself wanting to go back to see how an issue was developing. Despite his deep dives into mathematics and statistics his writing and graphics, and the commentators themselves, who helped flesh out the arguments, made it possible for a layman to grasp. Climate Audit was a force to be reckoned with.
Climate Audit brought out the best in a lot of people. Mosh used to make quite a few well reasoned arguments there.
