You will recall this story from 1st August, regarding the coldest weather in decades which has been affecting Brazil for much of July. Strangely the fraudsters at NOAA have decided that last month was warmer than average!

Map showing temperature percentiles for July 2021

Despite having no data for much of the country, and most of the data they do have shows it has been a cold month:

This artificial warming through data manipulation is nothing new nor is it unique to Brazil. You would think someone at NOAA would wake up and realize their process is horribly flawed.

The crazy thing about all this is people that should know better either do not or they support using flawed processes to further their agenda – pick one.

The truth about winter in the Southern Hemisphere can be seen in sea surface temperature anomalies.comment image

We have a very rapid decline in the temperature of the Peruvian Current, which is moving into the central equatorial Pacific. Temperatures will drop even further as ice begins to melt in the south in October.

Wow, it’s really obvious how lots of blue suddenly gets ‘averaged’ into red. Amazing math skills over at NOAA!

Arctic sea ice is still off on a very different trajectory for this time of year. …comment image

Biden tried to adjust the price of petroleum downward, and failed.

I have a question. Why aren’t they using a base period of 1991-2020 for their 30 year average?

Could it be that the temperature anomaly won’t look so good without 1981-1990?

The trend is the same no matter what base is used.

Here in New Zealand we had a pretty cold June (lots of firewood used) but afterwards NIWA decreed it was one of the warmest ever. As a (new?) tool they are distinguishing between ground temperatures and temperatures at Stevenson-screen heights (1.3 metres), saying the difference can be up to 4C on still mornings. But on frosty mornings my car’s windows freeze just the same. This winter we’ve had ~12 frosts so far so doesn’t seem warm to us.

Regarding “the coldest weather in decades which has been affecting Brazil for much of July”: The article linked by the link above this does not support a contention of such cold weather affecting Brazil for more than a few days of July. It says frosts happened on the 20th and concern of additional frosts after the initial one of the 20th, one of which actually happened on the following Friday (the 23rd).

Regarding the discrepancy between the two global maps: The percentiles map shows percentiles of all Julys from 1900 to 2021. The second shows temperature anomaly with respect to a 1981-2010 baseline. A July that is cooler than average of Julys from 1981 to 2010 can easily not be cooler than average of Julys from 1900 to 2021.

They’ll have to explain what happened to all the coffee beans.

Shall I
They were damaged by frost on 1 or 2 nights in July.
And NOT by a prolonged cold month.
2 frosts do not a cold month make, especially in a country as large as Brazil.

Won’t be long and all those “renewables” advocates will be begging us oil people to produce more oil and gas so they can stay warm and charge their EVs.
