The presenter was part of a group personally “trained” by Al Gore when he was in Minneapolis in August 2019. I view the proposed presentation (given by Al Gore here) https://www.climaterealityproject.org/truth) as politics masquerading as science. I personally don’t think this presentation or “climate activism” belongs in MVHS chemistry classes, but if that happens, I’d like to ask for “equal time” in those chemistry classes to correct some of that misinformation.
I have a great interest in the scientific debate around climate change; I’ve been sanity-checking these issues almost daily in great detail for about 12 years. I do have about 35 slides (graphs etc) that I’ve pulled together in the last few days, with more planned.
I agree with [another parent] who wrote about the Nov 20 presentations:

I just wondered how many of the 16 $-pieces could stay around that Art-Deco cashier machine “The cost of carbon … and much more, much more,” when a natural global cooling would replace that CAGW.
I came just with two: Melting Glaciers and Sea Level Rise — no biggie: Growing Glaciers and Sea Level Drop; really, the rest could stay as is. Very clever indeed; almost as much as the ‘Global Warming’ being replaced by the ‘Climate Change’ strategic move.

The author is Brooks DeCillia, a Political researcher who spent 20 years reporting and producing news at CBC. He splits his time now between researching public opinion about energy and the environment at the University of Calgary and teaching journalism at Mount Royal University.
and he quotes Holman a professor in the very same university… How convenient.
Next, CBC will tell us that conflict of interest will be an asset as long as it is for saving the planet… and make trillions of dollars in carbon exchange schemes…
This “initiative” has even reached New Zealand, although it does not appear to be in schools (Yet!)
I have emailed two out of the three, and the third one seems to have an issue with the email address.

I looked up information about the “Climate Reality Leaders” in two particular countries with only a few presentations. While they attended Gore’s short course, I am not convinced that they appreciate the need for astute observation, careful reasoning and meticulous discernment when grappling with the complexity of our climate and its effects.
They are disingenuous calling their project “The CLIMATE REALITY Project” and describing presentations as “Truth in Action.” Speaking of a “climate scientist” as being an expert on climate is misleading. The reality is – to begin to get a proper understanding of climate – we need various sciences like physics and chemistry, geography and oceanography, climatology and meteorology, mathematics and statistics, and of course computer science.
Al Gore and his acolytes have great confidence in their understanding of climate and how it will impact our world into the next century – if we do not make the changes he demands. This overweening confidence is not shared by many humble scientists as they grapple with countless uncertainties. Many from various scientific disciplines are attempting to reconstruct a million piece climate jigsaw puzzle. However, they only have a couple thousand pieces. At best they can only make educated guesses about what should be in the numerous blank spaces. As new pieces are found and filled in over the next century or two the picture is likely to begin to look very different. That is the historical nature of all scientific endeavor.

In Sweden they do not need Al’s horror show, as the children here a all will indoctrinated over the last 10+ years and when Saint Greta has finished paddling back to Stockholm, she will help further the doomsday Climate Education.
The nearest venue to me is Suffolk (where no-one from Norfolk goes willingly) but it’s a community group rather than a school so probably not much harm done.
Al Gore is a very good speaker but he is a politician and not a scientist. Most of what he has been telling us is just not true. For example in his first movie he presents a chart showing CO2 and temperature over the past 650,000 years. Al claims that the data shows that CO2 operates as a temperature thermostat and that more CO2 in the atmosphere causes warming. But when you look at the data more closely, one finds that CO2 follows temperature. It is well known that warmer water cannot hold as much CO2 as cooler water so that warmer temperatures cause more CO2 to enter the atmosphere. Al Gore also places today’s CO2 level on his chart. I do not believe that anyone is debating the fact that mankind’s use of fossil fuels has caused an increase in CO2 in the atmosphere. If CO2 were really the temperature thermostat than it should be much warmer than it actually is but it is not. If anything, Al Gore’s chart shows that adding CO2 to the atmosphere does not cause warming but of course Al will not tell people about problems associated with the data he is presenting.
Al Gore shows a picture of the atmosphere and the Earth showing a shell of greenhouse gas. That chart is science fiction and has nothing to do with reality. The Earth’s atmosphere is not structured like that.
If the science were really settled, then the IPCC would have established a single value for the climate sensitivity of CO2 and a single climate model that did not include any fudge factors but such is not the case.
The climate change we are experiencing today is happening so slowly that it takes networks of sophisticated sensors, decades to even detect it. One must not mix up weather cycles with which are part of the current climate with true climate change. Based on the paleoclimate record and the work done with models, one can conclude that the the climate change we are experiencing is caused by the sun and the oceans over which mankind has no control. Despite the hype, there is no real evidence that CO2 has any effect on climate and there is plenty of scientific rationale to support the idea that the climate sensitivity of CO2 is zero. This is all a matter of science.
The AGW conjecture sounds credible at first but upon closer inspection one finds that it is based on only partial science and is full of holes. For example, the AGW conjecture depends upon the existence of a radiant greenhouse effect caused by trace gases in the Earth’s atmosphere with LWIR absorption bands. Such a radiant greenhouse effect has not been observed in a real greenhouse, in the Earth’s atmosphere, or on any planet in the solar system with a thick atmosphere. The radiant greenhouse is nothing but science fiction so hence the AGW conjecture is nothing but science fiction as well. So what Al Gore is pusing is science fiction but he is not telling people that.
