Climate activist Greta Thunberg proclaimed “Successor of Christ” by Church of Sweden

From the Climate Activisim crosses the religious threshold and YGBFKM department comes this inanity.

Greta Thunberg activist is proclaimed “Successor of Christ” by Church of Sweden

Sep 27, 2019

For [her] defense of the environment, the Swedish church has claimed that activist Greta Thunberg is the “successor of Jesus Christ” at this time.

“Ad! Jesus of Nazareth has now named one of his successors, Greta Thunberg, ” wrote the Limhamns Kyrka church on Twitter.

Dang, they proved me wrong again. Yes, they broke their own incredible record for stupidity.

How will they top that?

“Pepe Escobar
That pretty much sums it all up. The Icy Stare Muse of the Khmer Verts – yes, the green equivalent of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge – could not be a more pristinely manufactured consent product. Oh well, fully supported by Swedish Big Industry and the inevitable Soros scam. To hell with scientists interpreting serious data. The day when the Icy Stare demonizer of the Global South denounces the Pentagon as the world’s top polluter she might – just might – sound credible. Don’t count on the ones who write her script to make it happen.”
Right on!

The one and Christ said in Matthew 24: 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. (Mat 24:23-26 KJV)

So, if you’re a Christian and your church tells you there’s another “christ”, time to find another church.

This prophecy, Matthew 24: 23-27.

At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time. So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

The church of Sweden is so apostate that they effectively said Jesus was a liar when he said “no one comes to the Father but by me” by saying that Muslims (who deny Jesus said that) would go to heaven without Jesus.

Richard Patton,

Jesus was talking about Himself when He said, “no one comes to the Father but by me”. The decision is His, not yours and not that of any church.

So, if Jesus decides to take to the Father a Muslim, a Jew, a Hindu or any other person then that is His decision which you have no ability – and no right – to alter (Thanks be to God).

Hermit.Oldguy,

What you say is true. And any statement can be misrepresented.

However, the statement under discussion is clear in its context and meaning. Please don’t take my word for this but check it for yourself, instead.

I’d been wondering about how she is going to get home. I’d assumed she would walk via Canada, Alaska, short swim across to Siberia and then she’s on the home straight through Russia. At least she’d learn that the world is not about to burn up.

Doesn’t this fit in with another religious statement from the cult ie: that the system will keep looping and looping and getting hotter and hotter? In other words join the cult or you’ll burn in hell, always sounded to me like a cheap Christian tent revivalist.

Writing that reminded me of Burt Lancaster in Elmer Gantry lol crikey haven’t seen that since I was about 12 and tv’s in the UK were all monochrome. Good film if my young critical faculties were correct. 🙂

He’s an expert in climate denialism? Well that fully destroys the value of an expert doesn’t it. How did clueless turn into expert?

1 Corinthians 2: 13-14.

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

Not knowingly. All the apostles knew what they were dying for, and went willingly. They had nothing to gain by dying the ways they did. Even Jesus’ brother James, did not believe until after Jesus’ death and resurrection, and was put to death for his beliefs.

In most cases, all the Apostles had to do was drop a pinch of incense into a flame on the altar of Caesar. They died terrible deaths rather than do so. This was not the action of a hoaxer.

Will the last Christian in Sweden please bring the crucifix on your way out. In the USA our political situation has the Weimar pallor . Whatever post Depression consensus may have existed is now dissipated. We can not reconcile with absurdist irrationality as an acceptable way forward. Unless the fever breaks I believe it will get worse rather than better. Previously optimistic win or lose that seems an increasingly difficult attitude to maintain. Guess we’ll have to work harder.

Fanaticism is one of the ugliest things that humans can become involved in. It is destructive, deadly and will lay waste to everything it touches. It starts with cults like this one that is forming. This is not religion. It is fanaticism that will grow and grow until or unless someone puts a stop to it.
