Guest essay by Eric Worrall
President Obama, who has done more than any other President to sell American children into foreign debt slavery, has appealed to the American People not to tear up his climate “legacy”.
Remarks of President Barack Obama as Delivered
Weekly Address
The White House
August 13, 2016
Hi, everybody. One of the most urgent challenges of our time is climate change. We know that 2015 surpassed 2014 as the warmest year on record – and 2016 is on pace to be even hotter.
When I took office, I said this was something we couldn’t kick down the road any longer – that our children’s future depended on our action. So we got to work, and over the past seven-and-a-half years, we’ve made ambitious investments in clean energy, and ambitious reductions in our carbon emissions. We’ve multiplied wind power threefold. We’ve multiplied solar power more than thirtyfold. In parts of America, these clean power sources are finally cheaper than dirtier, conventional power. And carbon pollution from our energy sector is at its lowest level in 25 years, even as we’re continuing to grow our economy.
We’ve invested in energy efficiency, and we’re slashing carbon emissions from appliances, homes, and businesses – saving families money on their energy bills. We’re reforming how we manage federal coal resources, which supply roughly 40% of America’s coal. We’ve set the first-ever national standards limiting the amount of carbon pollution power plants can release into the sky.
We also set standards to increase the distance our cars and light trucks can go on a gallon of gas every year through 2025. And they’re working. At a time when we’ve seen auto sales surge, manufacturers are innovating and bringing new technology to market faster than expected. Over 100 cars, SUVs, and pick-up trucks on the market today already meet our vehicles standards ahead of schedule. And we’ve seen a boom in the plug-in electric vehicle market – with more models, lower battery costs, and more than 16,000 charging stations.
But we’re not done yet. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll release a second round of fuel efficiency standards for heavy-duty vehicles. We’ll take steps to meet the goal we set with Canada and Mexico to achieve 50 percent clean power across North America by 2025. And we’ll continue to protect our lands and waters so that our kids and grandkids can enjoy our most beautiful spaces for generations.
There’s still much more to do. But there’s no doubt that America has become a global leader in the fight against climate change. Last year, that leadership helped us bring nearly 200 nations together in Paris around the most ambitious agreement in history to save the one planet we’ve got. That’s not something to tear up – it’s something to build upon. And if we keep pushing, and leading the world in the right direction, there’s no doubt that, together, we can leave a better, cleaner, safer future for our children.
Thanks, everybody. Have a great weekend.
The Paris Climate agreement is not worth the paper it is written on. It has no legal force. In the words of an unnamed representative of the State Department (from the State Department website).
In terms of congressional approval, this agreement does not require submission to the Senate because of the way it is structured. The targets are not binding; the elements that are binding are consistent with already approved previous agreements. So it would not be – I mean, I don’t want to speak in a definitive way, but it’s certainly not – I would just say that it’s not required. What actions are taken or not taken is a separate question, but it’s not required.

In my opinion, the best which America could hope for from the next President, is for the next President to ditch pointless climate virtue signalling, and for the next President to put a stop to the ongoing sale of the future prosperity of American children to foreign loan sharks.

Interesting. The Trump apologists can spot the media spin against Trump, but not the counter-spin both pro-Trump and against Hillary. Before counseling those of us actually looking for the truth here, instead of suggesting removing the speck from our eye, perhaps you need to remove the log from your own.
Bruce, full disclosure. I’m not even American or in America, but I have a very clear view of the rest of the world, whereas I can see by ‘tells’ that you do not, and where it has been going posthaste. The rest of the world is virtually lost in neo marksbrotherism (maybe Britain escaped) while the US of A has been a spoiler of grand plans of elites. Its successes economically, commercially, technologically (US owns 34 of the real Nobel Prizes) are products of a free society. This makes the US a bad advertisement for the totalitarians and so it has been a target of EU, UN and other central command economies for decades.
It’s only recently that this new-order has managed to gain a foothold from within. Harvard (which is close to government ears) early on, and eventually placements of lefty ideologues throughout the educational system, K-grad school, scientific institutions, research departments, etc. have been simply bought. I judge you, Bruce, to be a relatively young man and, if so, I am confident you will think differently when you get older (if the shackles on your mind aren’t too fast). Many argue that they don’t want Hillary but would rather put up with her for four years. I would turn this thing around and say, similarly, you can kick Trump out in four years and at least you will have a SCOTUS that upholds your precious Constitution, which it turns out is weaker than I thought. The framers obviously didn’t anticipate marksbrothers and their skill in using democracy to overturn itself.
Here is a small introduction to what is going on: a 50 yr old must reading by the Czech Jan Kozak (Not a shot was fired) on how to use “parliament” to overturn democracy. He used it and it worked. He twisted citizens to vote for it!

I would also note that his scheme is for sale on Amazon for a couple of bucks and that it has had remarkably huge sales! When you read it, you will see that Obama has studied it carefully.

How do you believe Trump will get those conservative judges past a Democrat filibuster?
What’s going to happen is he will nominate stealth candidates that, like Kennedy, talk conservative but vote liberal.
“Its successes economically, commercially, technologically (US owns 34 of the real Nobel Prizes) are products of a free society.”
Exactly. It’s not that the U.S. is naturally better than anyone else. How could it be since the citizens of the U.S. come from every nation, ethnic group and race on the planet, so the U.S. *is* everybody else. And all contribute.
What makes the U.S. special is the U.S. is the freest nation on Earth. When people are allowed to pursue their dreams without interference from government, great things can happen. Anyone can do it, they just have to have the freedom to act without fear.
The formula is as simple as that.
“How do you believe Trump will get those conservative judges past a Democrat filibuster?”
I have another question: How would Hillary get Leftwing judges past a Republican filibuster?
Well Bruce Cobb, that comment convinced me that you be person above who questioned your conservative bona fide was exactly right.
Trump as a private citizen running for office for the first time. He doesn’t need an apologist, like Hillary does, to try to whitewash past wrongdoings.
It’s not being an apologist to take a clear eyed look at the cold hard facts.
All you have to be is not a dupe.
Sorry about the mangled comment no more text to speech.
Bruce Cobb
A valid caution. Please identify ANYTHING that the national/international “press corpse” is spinning “against” Hillary; They are hiding her, her self-interests, her crimes, her manipulations, her past crimes, and her incompetence. They are hiding her past cover-ups, her past hatred and extremism and personal attacks on the women her husband raped, her past errors, and her past positions – Such as her vote to fund and build a border fence, to destroy stable dictatorships across the middle east that were holding back religious extremists. (Dictatorships yes. But they opposed Muslim religious extremists and so they were destroyed deliberately by her policies and decisions.)
By the way, over a period of 4 years, she received and sent 33,000 pages of emails that were “private” and “not government business” (such as yoga, her daughters’ wedding, and to her husband. Over those same 4 years as the senior foreign policy advisor and control for Oboma, while wars were being fought across the world and as we were invading and fighting in 4 countries, she sent NO classified emails at all out of the remaining 33,000 emails her lawyers released.
So – half of the time she was working on personal issues while Secretary of State, and the other half of the time, she was doing NOTHING IMPORTANT or consequential as Secretary of State!
One thing never pointed out by even Fox, and I don’t understand this oversight, is that since the private non-government server & non-secure Blackberry were the only systems she used; and she claimed that there were no classified on them; them how in the H did she do state department business without ever sending/receiving classified email?? Obviously she couldn’t have OR she was so senile/stupid that she conducted all state department business completely in the open…
Because she is a f*ucking liar!!!!!
I have wondered the same thing BFL.
RACook,
Wow, that was breathtaking!
I wish I knew how to do that.
Excellent!
Only if you shoot a 68. Otherwise the agreement gets it!
I think Obama has demonstrated that the United States, and it’s citizens, is pretty much last on his priority list.
One would certainly have to conclude that…..Focusing on basically everything else besides growth and opportunity resulted in the following. The same could be said for a lot of other countries right now as they push off the problem to central banks with negative interest rates. It is an abdication of responsibility.
WSJ today…Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data
Black borrowers accounted for a smaller share of mortgage originations in 2014, at 5%, than in 2004 when they were 7%. By contrast, white borrowers accounted for 69% of mortgages in 2014 versus 58% 10 years before then.
Only 3% of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac eligible mortgages went to black borrowers in 2014, down from 6% in 2004, according to the report.
The World begs President Obama to stop being a sabre-rattling maniac, trying to stoke WW III with Russia through bankrupting the US taxpayer to swell the profits of the Military Industrial Complex.
No-one is expecting him to listen to the World, so why should the world listen to Obama on this one??
