You know of the “Gore effect“, Wikiepedia describes it as “…an informal and satirical term which alleges a causal relationship between unseasonable cold weather phenomena and global warming activism”, so it was appropriate to apply to the situation where the Gore’s Climate Reality Project group tried a political ploys that looked stupid: “I’m Too Hot” trucks and offers of free ice cream to this week’s Environmental Protection Agency hearings on power-plant emissions…when it was 58 degrees and raining. Obviously, CNN’s Bill Weir doesn’t understand satire, much less how to be a professional journalist.
From Mediaite:
It’s safe to say CNN anchor Bill Weir is not a fan of climate change deniers.
On Thursday, the Twitter account for Fox Nation, a blog run by Fox News, tweeted a link to a post headlined, “Climate Doesn’t Cooperate With Al Gore’s Group’s Visit to Denver EPA Hearings.”
The story, aggregated from the Washington Times, relates to a Denver visit by former Vice President Al Gore‘s “Climate Reality Project” for EPA hearings on power plant emissions.
The group showed up to hand out ice cream even though it was 58 degrees.
Weir retweeted the link, with his own comment: “Weather is not climate, you willfully ignorant fucksticks.”

==============================================================
One wonders why he didn’t say same the same thing about Gore and his ice-cream trucks to treat the “I’m too hot” weather that never materialized. Oh, yeah, bias.
This is probably the best reason ever to tune out CNN, when they hire emotional children like this instead of journalistic professionals, it’s pretty much pointless to watch any longer.
After what I experienced recently, I’m beginning to think that most climate alarmists are nothing more than emotional children disguising themselves as professionals.
UPDATE: I posted this short message, twice. It was deleted both times, but the second time I saved a screen cap. Apparently Bill Weir has an ego that is easily bruised, or there’s somebody at CNN running interference.
You can look here as see that it is now missing.

Class act, guys. No bias there at CNN.

“You are confusing a medical definition with an aphorism:”
True, I think the current “aphorism” of “insanity” of doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results, sounds more like the definition for “The Scientific Method” which would explain why most scientists are insane.
This Weir character apparently a poor man’s Michael Moore (#14) is clamoring onto the Global Warming band wagon well past its prime so he’s a decade late and brain cell short.
He is getting absolutely PWNED in his twitter feed.
My fave so far is the one reminding him that he works for a network that blamed global warming for the near-pass of earth by a large asteroid.
Weather is not climate
=================
not according to CNN, which promotes “extreme” weather events as proof of climate change.
by that same logic, the absence of extreme weather must be proof that climate is not changing. No wonder Weir is upset. the weather won’t cooperate.
The tweets that Watts claims were deleted by Weir (something that isn’t actually possible) are still extant. Here are links to the tweets:

So let me get this right, Weir is working on a project that documents weather and blaming it on global warming, and on the flip side throwing a tantrum when Fox News jokes about how chilly it is outside in July. Pretty safe to assume that falsehoods will be presented in Weir’s piece, such as more tornadoes, etc. I doubt we see data to back up his weather is worse claims throughout his propaganda piece.
Here is a article on Breitbart about Weir from May. It’s about his dismal ratings and CNN’s. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2014/05/13/cnn-bill-weir-hits-15-year-low
It’s standard policy for the EPA to have hearings regarding such things as cole-fired power plant emissions in a part of the country that is not coal-fired power plant intensive. They get as far as they can from the people most involved in what the EPA is seeking to damage. Nice people, the Extremely Political Asses.
“He is getting absolutely PWNED in his twitter feed.”
I don’t see anything newer than 30 Jul. All being deleted or I have to be a twitter member to see anything newer?
It is a Cult. At this point the cultists are beginning to realize all is not well. It is not anger we see, it is fear. They are emotionally invested in their cult to the point that any doubt that creeps in is totally devastating to their id. They are beginning to realize that without the fulfillment of their cult beliefs they are of no value to the world or even themselves. Think about it, everything that you are is valueless, ridiculed. Everything that you believed was incorrect, a lie told to you to extract money, honor, from you and everyone around you, a con. You go from “hero” to “dupe” to “accomplice”. If you have no morals or ethics that is not a problem, but if you are genuinely a good concerned person looking for a replacement for conventional religion this is a very large problem. And I hope they choke on it.
I always find it a little bit amusing when climate alarmists like Weir get so emotional and start engaging in name-calling whenever the subject of CAGW skeptics or the contrary evidence comes up. Their emotional and spiritual devotion to the Holy Faith (CAGW) takes precedence over all else, and their emotions and behavior demonstrate that we are indeed dealing with people who are treating CAGW like the religion that it has become.
With little or no scientific background, people like Weir have no understanding of how science and scientific discourse is supposed to work and how it differs from the way that he and alarmist “scientists” like Mann tend to behave in the face of a controversial issue like CAGW. Weir and his ilk just cannot understand that science is a matter of facts (from observation) , logic and reasoning (IMHO) wherein one does not make unprovable excuses to casually dismiss evidence that contradicts the theory at issue.
“Journalists” like Weir are getting increasingly lazy these days wherein they no longer feel the need to conduct investigative journalism wherein they dig deep into the issue to ensure all the facts have been brought to light. Only the “facts” that jive with their personal beliefs matter.
It is sad and frustrating to see the way journalism these days has deteriorated since the days when I was a kid in the 1960’s watching Walter Cronkite on TV. I can only wonder if those days will ever be back someday….
There are 2 kinds of people, those who are skeptical of all the global warming hype and those who use the word f*cksticks.
Thanks to Anthony I now know what that means, I guess it kinda makes sense if you think about it.
In Bill Weir, I see only a drowning man panicking, lashing out as the inevitable approaches.
With low ratings, he is becoming a nobody. The narcissists worst nightmare.
“I can only wonder if those days will ever be back someday….”
No, I doubt that will happen in the corporate mainstream news media which is nearly all trivial, superficial or one-sided garbage. It’s all about viewership and market share, so they cater to the lowest common denominator of viewer. Yellow journalism everywhere.
The future of news reporting and analysis is on-line. That’s how I realized, having educated myself on-line prior to Iraq War II about the Iraqi WMD BS, the history of the totally artificial construct called “Iraq,” and the most likely underlying motives for the US and UK to invade while the US mainstream media beat the drums for war and anyone who told the other side of the story was fired, as Phil Donahue was fired by MSNBC, that we’d very likely end up with exactly what is going on in Iraq today.
Just as an aside – In the last few months I’ve noticed that public areas with televisions tuned to news outlets (i.e. airport terminals, doctor’s offices, etc.) are now featuring Fox News rather than CNN. I wonder why that is….

I am sorry to have to break this to you, but CNN is not a news network, it is a state run propaganda channel.
___________________________________
Yes, but which state??
If you look at their adverts, sponsorship and news specials, it is clear that CNN is actually the propaganda network of the Middle East states. And if you look at their coverage of the recent Gaza – Israel dispute, it is also apparent that they are the PNN, the Palestinian News Network.
Honestly, they are probably worse than the Biased Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), and i formerly thought that that was impossible.

Elmer in your case maybe “Fuddstick” is appropriate.

“I still find it funny when Environment Canada put out a warning earlier this year warning Canadians that we were going to experience some pleasant weather. And it was pleasant. Is pleasant weather a result of global warming / climate change ?”
From what I’ve seen the preeminent mode of GW or CC is a rise in daily minimum temps in Northern Temperate Latitudes, mostly in the cold weather months. You can see how this presents a substantial challenge to those who are dedicated to flogging CO2 demonizing Climate Alarmism. It is a pretty hard sell to convince folks from Minnesota, like me, and Canadians that we need to fork over big cash and submit ourselves to the whims of self righteous econazi bureaucrats to avoid the possibility of not having to run our furnaces quite so hard in some future winters.
If he wasn’t so blissfully ignorant himself, you might feel sorry for him. He is unfortunate enough to believe in the B.S. spoon fed to him by those less honest. His obvious lack of intelligence makes him vulnerable to be taken in by the scam. Poor upbringing probably.

Natural selection it is called and it has to do with variation within the species. Thus species evolve into new species, and you do not need to invoke mutation to account for evolution.
So, mpainter, you must therefore believe that dog breeders could produce a breed of dog that has wings merely by crossbreeding the right varieties of dog. They merely have to keep at it long enough.
If, however, the DNA coding for wings is not to be found within the genetics of any dog, no amount of crossbreeding would result in a dog with wings. It is this realization that caused geneticists to invoke mutation to account for evolution, instead of simple variation within the species.
However, since DNA mutation has only been found to disable functions or structures, and never to produce new ones, the only way to invoke evolution at all is to conflate it with variation within the species.

This is what I love so much about climate catastrophists like Bill, they’re so good at using foul language and insulting anyone who dares to question their faith, making most of us “deniers” appear angelic.
