You know of the “Gore effect“, Wikiepedia describes it as “…an informal and satirical term which alleges a causal relationship between unseasonable cold weather phenomena and global warming activism”, so it was appropriate to apply to the situation where the Gore’s Climate Reality Project group tried a political ploys that looked stupid: “I’m Too Hot” trucks and offers of free ice cream to this week’s Environmental Protection Agency hearings on power-plant emissions…when it was 58 degrees and raining. Obviously, CNN’s Bill Weir doesn’t understand satire, much less how to be a professional journalist.
From Mediaite:
It’s safe to say CNN anchor Bill Weir is not a fan of climate change deniers.
On Thursday, the Twitter account for Fox Nation, a blog run by Fox News, tweeted a link to a post headlined, “Climate Doesn’t Cooperate With Al Gore’s Group’s Visit to Denver EPA Hearings.”
The story, aggregated from the Washington Times, relates to a Denver visit by former Vice President Al Gore‘s “Climate Reality Project” for EPA hearings on power plant emissions.
The group showed up to hand out ice cream even though it was 58 degrees.
Weir retweeted the link, with his own comment: “Weather is not climate, you willfully ignorant fucksticks.”

==============================================================
One wonders why he didn’t say same the same thing about Gore and his ice-cream trucks to treat the “I’m too hot” weather that never materialized. Oh, yeah, bias.
This is probably the best reason ever to tune out CNN, when they hire emotional children like this instead of journalistic professionals, it’s pretty much pointless to watch any longer.
After what I experienced recently, I’m beginning to think that most climate alarmists are nothing more than emotional children disguising themselves as professionals.
UPDATE: I posted this short message, twice. It was deleted both times, but the second time I saved a screen cap. Apparently Bill Weir has an ego that is easily bruised, or there’s somebody at CNN running interference.
You can look here as see that it is now missing.

Class act, guys. No bias there at CNN.

I don’t quite understand the update part of this post. how is a message you post on your WUWT account deleted by someone at CNN? Once you post a message only you can delete it unless it has been retweeted, in which case it’s there for as long as the servers archive it.
Not making a statement about the body of the post either way. I think my views on the half-wits at CNN are well known already but I’m pretty au fait with twitter and I just can’t wrap my head around how someone else can remove your message from a conversation without having access to your account.

He has to be a kid. Only a kid would be so ignorant as to think the filth words reflect on anyone but himself.
That comment was then echoed by many others. But I took a class from Grog Mooers about “Heart Virtue,” the virtue that is closest to one’s heart. One of the ways that you can tell what your heart virtue is–is by what makes you mad.
My heart virtue is the nurturance of intelligence, and increasing the numbers, joy, and vitality of all life, especially people and my own family. I am also heavily into science and truth. The alarmists cut very bluntly and directly across those things, calling up down, black white and good “evil.” They have killed myriads of people minimum. They scream with horror at a COLD 57F planet ever warming up, they call pH 8.1 “acid” and they call the very basis of terrestrial life (CO2) a pollutant.
I get a great deal madder than any alarmist. In my own mind, I use language much more ferocious than what is reported here. So I understand their anger. I do not fault them for that, but for their lack of respect for truth and for life.
Mr. Weir and a CNN cameraman came to the International Conference on Climate Change at Las Vegas in early July. He chose to interview only two people (as best I know), Lord Monckton and me. Surrounded by top notch Ph.D. scientists who came with great papers debunking global warming, he chose to ignore them and talk to two old men with lesser degrees. From his very first question he was hostile and disrespectful. I begged him to interview the scientist and get the real story that debunks the global warming hype that comes out of Washington. He laughed at me and said that if a reporter could destroy the global warming science, which is supported by 97 percent of scientist, that reporter would be as famous as Woodward and Bernstien, but that was impossible because the science is settled and ….. I suggested he talk to Patrick Moore and Fred Singer. He said something about the payroll of the Kock (?) brothers. He said he was going to travel around the world and gather he evidence of global warming.
Wier is producing one of those new prime time hour long documentaries for CNN. I am bracing myself for his attack. I am sure he will dismiss me as a flat earther nut job. I am bracing myself. He has a substantial background. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Weir

Now everyone knows you’ve got a ‘dickie do’ problem.
Clearly Mr. Weir has been afflicted with decorum disruption. He would know that had he not deleted his original post which included my original comment. Don’t you just love objective journalists?
Dave T. – 97% of climate scientists believe climate change started in 1975. 97% of WUWT readers believe climate change has been going on for billions of years.

“…because people classed as “egalitarian communitarians” (roughly speaking, left-wingers) are always highly concerned about climate change, and become slightly more so as they acquire more science and numeracy. Unfortunately, however, “hierarchical individualists” (basically, right-wingers) are quite concerned about climate change when they’re ignorant: but if they have any scientific, mathematic or technical education this causes them to become strongly sceptical.”

…But if one were to take a look at some other Blogs such as lets say JOHN COLEMANS or REAL SCIENCE… You see numerous references being made to the fact that… Because we had a colder than normal winter…or a in active hurricane season… or a cool weak in the middle of July… that all AGW theory is total bullshit.

Oh no no no !
You misunderstand.
CAGW was what was preached and CAGW was BS from the start.
It always was and the big boys always knew it.

They still can’t get by the null hypothesis thingy.
Because climate changes, all the time…including today.

You will not find me using weather events to debunk global warming. I use the lack of any verification of the computer models predicted temperature increases or the lack of the predicted mid level equatorial warm spot as failure to of the data to validate the theory of carbon dioxide as a super greenhouse gas that produces extraordinary warming through a radiative forcing interaction with water vapor. I never point to weather events to debunk the warming alarmists. But when they use weather events to hype global warming, I do point out that such events have been occurring throughout the history of observation and there is a lack of any causation between the increase in CO2 in the atmosphere and the events they are using to hype their alarmism.
Here’s a video that might help. Bill Weir’s Trip of a lifetime – where he recounts jetting needlessly around the world.
Another video carries a certain bit of irony, as Weir expresses a personal renunciation of childish twitter outbursts now that he has become a big time reporter.
Personally I think it is a positive sign that such behaviour and bad language is becoming the norm with the alarmist brigade. Once one has to resort to this barrel scraping level, one knows the argument is lost. Its just a matter of time before they emerge from the denial phase.

So would an example of an educated f*ckstick be one that knows to wear a raincoat when conditions are wet?
Ah, now I know why the polar bear made of ice by activists outside the IPCC conference i Copenhagen 2009 refused to melt; it was hit by the Gore effect!
May one call it “Ursus Gorus”? After all, Gore has been associated with bears before, as ManBearPig.
The Warmists are getting so angry these days…I love that squealing noise they make…it is not the sound of the confident or victorious!
All I can picture is the local ‘news,’ and Al Gore, every time the temperature sets a heat record, by even half a degree, spewing ‘Global Warming/Climate Change/DOOOOOM!’ …And yet, every time there is a COLD temperature record, the same people snarling ‘temperature isn’t climate.’
Welcome to the world of ‘being labeled a conservative’ by the lefty news. Hate-filled profane outbursts show that you are ‘hip’ and ‘cool’ and get you noticed in the jungle of Bill Maher/John Stewart inspired hip hate sites …..
Seems like you were censored not for what you said, but for who you are. The same thing happened to me at the Conversation, a publicly funded academic website when I linked to Bob Tilsdale’s article here. My comment was wiped, plus all the comments replying to me, though other comments making similar points remained up. It’s pretty serious when quoting a certain person, or a person of a certain type, gets you banned from an academic website.

=============
Woodward and Bernstien are famous for reporting what no one else could show. Weir is trying to become famous for reporting what – that 97% of scientists are correct?
It 97% of all scientists believe something and they are right, that isn’t news. It is simply what you would expect. If 97% of scientists believe something and they are wrong – then you have a news story.
So, in reporting that grass is green, Weir shows that he is no Woodward and Bernstien. Instead he is like a cheerleader — hurrah for our team.
