The 'Gore effect' turns ugly – CNN climate bias revealed

You know of the “Gore effect“, Wikiepedia describes it as  “…an informal and satirical term which alleges a causal relationship between unseasonable cold weather phenomena and global warming activism”, so it was appropriate to apply to the situation where the Gore’s Climate Reality Project group tried a political ploys that looked stupid: “I’m Too Hot” trucks and offers of free ice cream to this week’s Environmental Protection Agency hearings on power-plant emissions…when it was 58 degrees and raining. Obviously, CNN’s Bill Weir doesn’t understand satire, much less how to be a professional journalist.

From Mediaite:

It’s safe to say CNN anchor Bill Weir is not a fan of climate change deniers.

On Thursday, the Twitter account for Fox Nation, a blog run by Fox News, tweeted a link to a post headlined, “Climate Doesn’t Cooperate With Al Gore’s Group’s Visit to Denver EPA Hearings.”

The story, aggregated from the Washington Times, relates to a Denver visit by former Vice President Al Gore‘s “Climate Reality Project” for EPA hearings on power plant emissions.

The group showed up to hand out ice cream even though it was 58 degrees.

Weir retweeted the link, with his own comment: “Weather is not climate, you willfully ignorant fucksticks.”

==============================================================

One wonders why he didn’t say same the same thing about Gore and his ice-cream trucks to treat the “I’m too hot” weather that never materialized. Oh, yeah, bias.

This is probably the best reason ever to tune out CNN, when they hire emotional children like this instead of journalistic professionals, it’s pretty much pointless to watch any longer.

After what I experienced recently, I’m beginning to think that most climate alarmists are nothing more than emotional children disguising themselves as professionals.

UPDATE: I posted this short message, twice. It was deleted both times, but the second time I saved a screen cap. Apparently Bill Weir has an ego that is easily bruised, or there’s somebody at CNN running interference.

Class act, guys. No bias there at CNN.

The thing is though. Anthony could open another blog devoted just to people who cussed him on the internet.

I don’t consider Fox news to be an unbiased news outlet. Who can forget this little gem of factual news.

Apparently 58% of conservatives answered no.”
Well if they answered anything but no the way this question is worded they would be wrong. Evolution based on random mutations is not a “fact” it is a theory. One that is strongly supported by the factual evidence but it will never be a fact unless someone happens to invent a time machine.

Natural selection it is called and it has to do with variation within the species. Thus species evolve into new species, and you do not need to invoke mutation to account for evolution.

Yes, weather is not climate, but Gore’s group were handing out ice creams with the tacit implication that the weather IS representative of climate. Thus Weir’s outrageous outburst would have been more correctly directed at Gore’s group.

As point of order on this science blog.
Evolution theory as Darwin described, and universally accepted, is not based on “random mutations.” Charles Darwin in the mid-19th Century had no concept of DNA mutations, random or otherwise. He saw traits, behaviors, and physical characteristics that aided or hindered a species reproductive success in a given environment, and that when the environment changed, so did the traits or characteristics in subsequent generations or closely related species in slightly different environments. Successive generations were then naturally selected for or against those traits (phenotypes) (natural selection drives Evolution of new species to fit ecological niches and environmental adaptations). Indeed, there is now evidence that while genetic mutations are what drive most phenotypic differences (the invocation of random genetic mutations only came after the nature of genetic material was understood in the second half of the 1950’s), epigenetic modifications can also be passed down to successive generations (via heritable non-genetic mutations in the germ line) where differing methylation patterns on nucleotide bases that affect gene expression are propagated.

I would agree with Mr Weir that Algore’s team, arriving with trucks with “I’m too hot”, demonstrates that the Weather AND Climate Warming Alarmists are willfully ignorant fleshsticks.

Ah now I know. When the MSM announced that June was the hottest June ever (after NCDC or so announced it), that was weather, as it lasted less than 30 years. Funny that all the news then went off on a climate change tangent.

David TRolleris says: “I’m Too Hot”
You and Weir show your true (ugly) colors. If you’re concerned by people conflating “weather” and “climate” the subjects of your ire should be the group that is handing out ice cream and claiming that “I’m Too Hot.” Obviously they couldn’t be too hot, and even if they were “too” hot it wouldn’t be indicative of a problem with the “climate.” This group is foisting a lie on the public in the hopes of affecting onerous changes in laws and regulations for the nation.
Who do you and Weir go after? The people that mocked them when their “I’m Too Hot” stunt backfired. Your buddies were pretty stupid not to check the weather forecast, but of course this stunt was planned months ago and the climate has little to actually do with it. The “climate” is just the latest vehicle for their socialist goals.

“The difference is that the conservative whacko religious nut fringe are also generally productive law abiding citizens that aren’t dependent on the welfare state.”
I’m sure coke and heroin addicts say the same thing about each other!
Anyway, I’ll bring up the late (and often wise) Michael Crichton as well:
“According to recent polls, large segments of the American population think the media is attentive to trivia, and indifferent to what really matters. They also believe that the media does not report the country’s problems, but instead is a part of them. Increasingly, people perceive no difference between the narcissistic self-serving reporters asking questions, and the narcissistic self-serving politicians who evade them.”
From ‘Mediasaurus’. If you haven’t read this speech, I recommend it highly:

It good to see folks here heeding my continued call to shut off the stupid MSM, which includes CNN, MSNBC, ABCCBSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, Time Magazine, and CAGW weather sites like “Weather Underground”. Don’t watch their shows, don’t buy their newspapers/magazines, and don’t access their websites. And tell your friends and family to do the same.
I’m fairly close to cancelling cable – I just don’t watch TV anymore, except for some occasional sports and perhaps a show or two on the History Channel. Advertisers and sponsors and noting the flight from TV and are hammering poorly run cable stations like CNN. Now if we can only get them out of our airports…
