WG1 co-chair Thomas Stocker abandons IPCC principles

Thomas Stocker, the co-chair of IPCC WG1, has been discussed previously on this blog.

On 26th November he gave a talk at Imperial College on the messages from the AR5 WG1 report. The headline of the write-up is

“Act now to limit climate change says climate expert at Grantham Annual Lecture”

and it ends with:

“Professor Stocker finished his talk with the message that the international community has to act now and that any further delay in reducing emissions could close the door on limiting global mean warming, and consequent impacts, permanently”

Perhaps he needs to be reminded of the principles of the IPCC:

“Because of its scientific and intergovernmental nature, the IPCC embodies a unique opportunity to provide rigorous and balanced scientific information to decision makers. By endorsing the IPCC reports, governments acknowledge the authority of their scientific content. The work of the organization is therefore policy-relevant and yet policy-neutral, never policy-prescriptive.”

So I presume he’s one of those guys who just started rowing across the Atlantic?
==================
It does seem strange that someone that is trying to cut emissions does so by increasing their own emissions. Sort of like Gore telling women to have less children while he has 4.
Why is it those that preach against sin are often the biggest sinners?

He is absolutely correct. Further delay will close the door permanently on panicked actions to “reduce global warming” for two reasons: 1) They won’t be able to fool the public much longer and 2) Existing actions have all-but-bankrupted the United States and Europe. There simply won’t be the funding for this stuff.

In a speech today, another IPCC official stressed the urgency of immediate action to prevent world climate catastrophe:

Why would that be a surprise? he already abandoned scientific principals.

What schools do they manage, and do they have any principles?

The real object or agenda is for UN(EP) to have global governance in their hands. Combined with Agenda 21 and the getting rid of capitalism market and classic liberalism freedom and choice. They think this will change the world to the better. For whom?

The “immediate action” is a climate treaty that will give UN(EP) global governance and with Agenda 21 we all have a feeling what this will lead to?
To prevent hypothetical anthropogenic climate change we all have to accept certain anthropogenic created Marxism? What are the alternatives? What are the costs? Where is the proof?

Hooray. If all the IPCC pseudo-scientists reject IPCC values, we will enjoy an honest scientific climate in with the scientific method will prevail.

The assets of private citizens outweigh the public debt in US and EU by a factor of 2; so by expropriating their citizens, the US and EU can still shove a lot of dough the way of Stocker. See “bail-in”.

Of course he does. Stocker is more of an activist than a scientist. Like most of the IPCC brethren.

WG1 co-chair Thomas Stocker abandons IPCC principles
It’s been a while since we heard from another IPCC Working Group Co-Chair:
“One must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore.”
~Ottmar Edenhofer

Is there a real scientist among them??

Of course the warmists are yelling “We must act now!”. In five years AGW will be a joke.
