The Josh-WUWT 2014 Climate Skeptics Calendar is now available

Here is your chance again to join “Josh of the Month Club”. Samples follow.

After the great response we had last year, Josh has sent his artwork across the pond to provide a special WUWT calendar for USA and Canadian readers again this year. It contains artwork more centric to issues here on this side of the pond, along with one cartoon never before published on WUWT.

These make great Christmas gifts for yourself, your friends, or some of those special people like Mike Mann that need some cheer and enlightenment. Recall that last year Dr. Mann turned our simple gift into another conspiracy theory rant. No hard feelings, I’m happy to send him a new calendar again this year.

Here is the cover art:

(note – low res, actual calendar print done with hi-res graphics):

Calendar_2014_cover_US_small

Here is what January 2014 looks like:

2014_calendar_jan

And, in addition to regular holidays, it has some special days marked on the calendar too.

Each calendar is $19.99 plus $5 shipping (plus $1.25 packaging and handling -total $6.25) plus tax for your state (sorry, can’t escape that one) and will be shipped direct to you. Josh and I split the profit.

  • Printed on durable, matte cardstock
  • Hanger hole punched at the top
  • Measures 8½” x 11″ closed, 17″ x 11″ open
  • Delivery by US Mail (delivered in about 5-10 business days, longer for Canada)

===========================================================

ORDERING: USA/Canadian readers can place calendar orders here.

NOTE: UK/European readers should order via Josh’s website here.

==============================================================

UPDATE: Simon Turnill of Australian Climate Madness writes that he has a few SkS gag gifts for Christmas. Most are virtual, but there’s a cup O’Lew you can buy.

Thanking you in advance,

P.S. I have been very good except to those guys on WUWT to whom you give coal every year.

brilliant as ever. so much CAGW comedy has been overlooked by a whole generation of comedians:
1 Dec: New Scientist: Michael Slezak: Extreme weather could become norm around Indian Ocean
Journal reference: Nature Geoscience, DOI: 10.1038/NGEO2009.
What do the torrential rains that swept across a swathe of East Africa in 1997 have in common with the record-breaking drought that Australia has just emerged from? Both can be blamed on El Nino’s Indian Ocean sibling.
A study looking at how climate change will affect this ocean oscillation pattern has predicted that if the world is allowed to warm uncontrollably, these kinds of extreme events will become the norm by 2050…
Now Wenju Cai from the Australian research agency CSIRO in Melbourne and colleagues have used the latest climate models – employed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change – to replicate those events…
But all 54 climate models the team examined predict that this wind will weaken as the world warms. This means that rather than oscillating between positive and negatives events, the dipole will get increasingly stuck in the positive direction, oscillating between less positive phases and more positive phases. This will bring rain of varying intensity to Africa that once would have fallen on Australia and Indonesia…
Nerilie Abram from the Australian National University in Canberra, who led the 2007 work that used fossilised corals, says the projections in the new study are important, underlining the importance of the IOD, a phenomenon only properly recognised in 1999…

Aw sugar, Mr. Watts, you just spoiled my new years day surprise. My new Josh calendar arrived a few days ago but in accordance with family tradition it won’t be opened until 1st. of January.
And now I’ve seen some of it already.
Humph.
It will be interesting to see if the Mann rises to the bait again, though.

Ordered one for me, and one for a friend. Not sure friend will get all the arcane references (e.g. to ‘Lew’, etc.), but he’ll enjoy most of Josh’s work. Thanks, Anthony, for the enormous value you provide to the world of science and to mankind in general, and for the hours of entertaining and enlightening reading you have provided for me. Merry Christmas!

Robertvd (December 1, 2013 at 4:57 am) The Cheesman reservoir built in 1905 just to the west of the measurement point is probably responsible for that cooling trend, mostly through evaporational cooling in a mostly arid climate.

A must buy. Keep it in its wrapper and sell it mint in 30 years as part of the ‘Climate Wars’ history. It will shed light on exactly who it was who was pulling the wool at this pivotal time.

Before you send it, can we suggest some ‘important dates’ ? , please, please ? pretty please ?
Mao Tse Tung: BIRTH DATE: December 26
Stalin: December 18
Then some other good birthdays so he can send presents/cards/etc.
ManBearPig: 01 Apr 2008
Cuccinelli: July 30
I’m sure there are many other dates, perhaps readers can include some.

December 1, 2013 5:20 pm

Agree w/Man Bearpig,
There are probably lots of good suggestions that readers can make for next year’s calendar.

Mann might be too busy keeping his head down to look at the calendar just yet, because of a review on amazon.com of The Hockey Stick Illusion.
H/T Mike Mangan and James Evans at http://www.bishop-hill.net/unthreaded/
“… on Nov 30th, “Climate Follower” writes a review of THSI. The review essentially says: “Don’t read this revolting book, instead read Michael Mann’s brilliant book which is the bestest book what was ever writed.”
A few hours later you write a comment that is highly critical of the review.
The next day Michael Mann mysteriously turns up and writes “you are a disgusting piece of filth, a poor excuse for a human being. You have been reported to Amazon, vermin.”
A few hours later he deletes the comment, but thankfully you had already copied it.
Have I got that right? If so, perhaps we can indeed make the following guesses:
“Climate Follower” is Michael Mann.
– He received an automatic email telling him that someone had responded to his review.
– He responds by spewing bile.
– He then realises he’s accidentally spewed the bile using his own name.
– He deletes.”

And now, the real thing…

Beethoven a man of great personal courage, was severely hearing-impaired by the time he wrote this great, bold, work giving voice to truth, love, and beauty. It is a heroic work both in its quality and in what it took to write it. It is a fitting song with which to honor our courageous Hero for Truth, An-thony Watts, also hearing-impaired, who boldly walks into the arena, writing the truth for the love of humanity. What a beautiful person.

“Breath of Heaven” — Amy Grant

It’s easy to forget. It is easy to forget that little family, Joseph with a wife pregnant with a child he knew was not his, Mary, about to have her first baby, far from home. Life got very complicated and frightening and rough for a long time. And, yet, all was well. God doesn’t promise us an easy road. He just promises to go with us, guiding, protecting, and comforting — every step of the way.

What is the expected shipping time?

Just ordered a couple of them and glad to see that they’re available as calendars. Might be better to use some of Josh’s cartoons as calendars as one of his T-shirt cartoons has people staring at my chest for quite long periods of times (great caroon, just too much happening to be on a T-shirt)
