An about-face of epic proportions. You’ll never guess who said this:
David Cameron has ordered ministers to ditch the ‘green crap’ blamed for driving up energy bills and making business uncompetitive, it is claimed. The Prime Minister, who once pledged to lead the ‘greenest government ever’, has publicly promised to ‘roll back’ green taxes, which add more than £110 a year to average fuel bills.
But a senior Tory source said Mr Cameron’s message in private is far blunter. The source said: ‘He’s telling everyone, “We’ve got to get rid of all this green crap.” He’s absolutely focused on it.’ Tory high command has also privately abandoned Mr Cameron’s pre-election mantra ‘vote blue, go green’. ‘It’s vote blue, get real, now – and woe betide anyone who doesn’t get the memo,’ the source said. Downing Street denied the claims and said: “We do not recognise this at all.”-–Daily Mail, 21 November 2013
No. 10 is tellingly refusing to deny the report in today’s Sun that David Cameron has ordered aides to “get rid of all the green crap”. A Downing Street spokesman merely stated that “we do not recognise this at all” (a classic non-denial denial). In reference to the environmental levies imposed on fuel bills, a Tory source earlier claimed of Cameron: “He’s telling everyone, ‘We’ve got to get rid of all this green crap.’ He’s absolutely focused on it.” The source added: “It’s vote blue, get real, now – and woe betide anyone who doesn’t get the memo.” –George Eaton, New Statesman, 21 November 2013

Canada, Australia, Japan……the UK? Who would have thought it possible?
The US EPA putting limits on the ethanol scam……could rational energy and enviro policies be far behind?
If Keystone gets green lighted, finally, and if windmill schemes in the US are held to account for the ravages they do to birds and bats and lanscape, we might see some real improvements.
Chris – I recommend that you read Climate Models Fail by Bob Tisdale. Almost the entire IPCC report is based on the failing climate models. As Tisdale points out in detail, ocean temperatures and their natural cycles are the dominant drivers of climate change…..not humanity. Since the climate models can not predict the changes in ocean temperatures, they fail at the rest of their task. Yet the IPCC continues to use their projections to justify their pronouncements.
If Cameron read Tisdale, the insistence on putting Britain into energy poverty would go away. Let’s hope he does.

some politicians maybe want to believe it is a hoax, but some already actually believe it is a con. Which actually was the word Cameron used too in the parliament and was called to order by Speaker.

“some politicians maybe want to believe it is a hoax, but some already actually believe it is a con. ”
They don’t believe it; they know it, as every bloc party in the EU has members at GLOBE international.
I cannot believe Cameron has come right in both senses of the word.
He is going to be in the dog box with:
1. His wife Samantha, who is a bolts-in-the-side-of-the-head-greenie,
2. His father in law, who makes $500,000/year in subsidies on his wind farm, and
3. Ed Davey, the UK’s environment minister, who apart from his many other shortcomings, is the definition of the word ‘ecoloon’.
Bottom line: I don’t believe this is real, but rather it is just another of Cameron’s empty promises, like having a vote on ratifying the Lisbon Treaty for the European Union.
Being “green” has ALWAYS been about the money – either eco taxes, “research” grants, or public funding of green tech boondoggles. This is why most greens are hypocrites.
The best way to deal with the “greens” of the world is to point out their selfishness and hypocrisy and make them as UNPOPULAR in the public eye as possible. This is already happening, I believe…
If only the story had Kate’s pair of legs shown on the left…
“every bloc party in the EU has members at GLOBE international.”
I did not know about this organization. They were created in 1989 or so and were trying to reduce CO2 before any evidence was available to confirm its postulated catastrophic heating ability. Now that there is no evidence whatsoever.. maybe a 0.5 C rise for a doubling.. what do they do for an encore?
In general, I agree with them on the merits of reducing energy consumption through conservation measures, specifially oil. We have basically hit the wall on oil production(73 mm bbls/day), despite the price rising from $25 to $100. Fracking might hold off the decline for a while, but only Iraq and maybe Iran can really increase outputs.
CO2 was a convenient bandwagon for all sorts of agendas.. some good, some bad.
Now what do we do with all of these worthless windmills?
Joining in late, so apologies if this has been mooted before. It’s been a very long day…….. not enough time to read all comments.
Interpretation 1: “Abandon green policies” IN YOUR DREAMS.
They are EU mandated, but the UK could temper the CO2 emissions targets and then totally bugger the Treasury’s projected tax take over the next 2 years.
Interpretation 2: “Drop all references to statutory price hikes, Keep Calm & Carry On” – HIGHLY PROBABLE.
Interpretation 3: “Warsaw’s a bust. Germany, Canada, Australia & Japan have back-tracked. GW is ‘static’. SO, all we can do is drop all references to green statutory price hikes for now and blame suppliers. After the 2015 election you lot then oppose everything the new minority Labour Gov proposes as I’ll be off! Good luck sucking up to UKIP”.

‘This, remember, is still an administration committed to wasting billions on the Navitus Bay and Atlantic Array offshore wind farms; to wiping out mid-Wales and Shropshire with pylons; to lay waste to our countryside with more wind turbines; …”
“Strike prices” for on- and offshore worthless wind turbines are double and triple current rates.

I think that this is a significant comment. We need someone high up to say what the rest of us have been thinking and saying for a long time. I think that this is a vote winner, please let it be so.
No politician can or will ever roll back Green taxes. AFAIK there has never been any occasion where a tax, once introduced, has ever been ‘recalled’ – best case would be a shifting of Green taxes into the General taxation stream so the funds are guaranteed to the Government AND they can be further increased but with less exposure to public criticism.
An investigative report on the IPCC has been published by Canadian investigative journalist Donna Laframboise. The book is called “The Delinquent Teenager Who was Mistaken for a Climate Scientist”; she has also written a follow-up book called “Into the Dustbin”, primarily focusing on the Chair of the IPCC, Rajendra Pachauri, whom she easily proves is a long-time activist. Both books are eye-opening, and transparent.
I have been arguing against Nick Butler on his blog several times. (motvikten)
I have been arguing aginst the climate change hype longer than most people. (since 1998)
I pionted to Nick Butler wishing that some of you might join me and comment on his blog. I don’t think that people interested in energy conversion and environment reading NB follow this blog.
The Financial Times is as bad as The Guardian when it comes to “green power”
Yes, that is, the so called British Government is crap. It is ruled by the EUSSR. Get rid of this government and the crap EUSSR. By any means available, even war. For our freedom we must fight.
Where did my post go?
[Reply: It was in the spam bin. Rescued & posted now. Next time, please give us more than 3 minutes. — mod.]
First the Assies then the Japs and now the Brits! It is starting to look like the dam has broken.
To get rid of the green crap, Cameron must first get rid of the yellow crap. [For our transatlantic cousins, they’re the Lib-Dem ‘partners’ in the coalition government; the tail that wags the environmental dog.]
At first glance it looks plausible doesnt it? And then you realise that Cameron is not exactly known for his scepticism, on the other hand his green credentials are impeccable. An unknown source supposedly overhears a conversation with a 3rd party? This looks like a simple spin trick designed to give the illusion that Dave is having 2nd thoughts about the man made global arming fraud, but the facts dont support that do they? He is utterly determined to support the building of thousands more useless windmills, he supports the insane climate change act and its equally insanely expensive and damaging successor making its way through whats laughably called a parliament. Dave is a s green as ever, what he is is desperate after looking at his poll ratings.
this should be judged by the beginning of the disappearance of the GC. What is the appropriate time for the judgement?
“Cameron’s principles swivel on a sixpence” says WUWT commenter Stephanie Clague (: Tim Aker adds:
The revelation that David Cameron is now rallying against the “green crap” that he made a hallmark of his Tory leadership a few years ago is a sign that Cameron will “swivel his principles on a sixpence” for electoral gain, according to UKIP Spokesman Tim Aker.
“Despite the rhetoric, he is all in favour of EU renewable policies and carbon emission targets. He supports a £18bn per year Climate Change Act that does great harm to British business and drives up energy bills for working people.
“His government has done nothing to stop the EU’s forced closure of our coal fired power stations in 2015. He has seen the energy crisis coming and no amount of hot air is going to hide the fact the Coalition is as complicit in energy policy failures as the previous Labour government. As is normal with David Cameron, it’s always all talk and no action.”

The quote may or may not prove to be true, but I think this story has ‘legs’…..
The UK would certainly benefit from a Green Enema – to get rid of the crap. But Cameron is not the man to do it. Neither has he the authority – even as, surprisingly, the PM – to do so. His Quisling fellow-travellers in the coalition will make sure of that. They are the chosen ones; the ones who don’t need to count the cost: we are the ones who shall pay.
However, given a choice, my location for the delivery of a Green Enema would be right up Clegg’s – ah, so whole-some, this blog…..
