The Tuesday Titter – Mannte's Inferno

Heh, I saw this last night, and I made a screencap early on but decided not to comment about it. But since Tom Nelson has put it out there, I thought maybe I should bring attention to it now.

Dr. Michael Mann sure has interesting and entertaining Facebook friends, at least the ones that are allowed to comment.

Heh, Kelly Anspaugh, (PhD in Twentieth Century Literature and Literary Theory) climate expert, please tell us how you really feel.

Tom Nelson reminds us of this other gem from Dr. Mann’s Facebook page:

One person’s maggot is another’s friend I suppose.

Wouldn’t things be so much better, if only they all could get what Anspaugh deserved?

M Mann’s friend appears to believe any junk flying around. On his Facebook page he has shared this- http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/video/2012/dec/19/golden-eagle-montreal-toddler-video
which has been de-bunked as a hoax already.

D. Patterson,
Erik Loomis has suddenly disabled his Twitter account after a visit from the police. His vile comments can be read here.

tadchem: Small wonder that nobody takes my opinions seriously on the energy flow of the environment.
I am on the lookout for my next read. What is the best most recent book on that topic? I have recently read Marcel Leroux: Dynamic Analysis of Weather and Climate, and I have read much of Raymond T Pierrehumbert: Principles of Planetary Climate.
thank you.

I am actually very impressed that a modern literature wonk has even heard of Dante.
These days, The Divine Comedy is a rather closely guarded secret, spoken of in reverent, hushed tones by the staff of ID software. A well placed source once told me that John Carmack has a hologram of Dante on his Desk Top. Anyone who has ever played Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake etc, will immediately recognize the various levels of hell, except of course, Doom has
bonus levels, and cheat keys and the BFG2000.
Why anyone would need to add a new level is beyond me, Dante had everything covered, and Pr Kelly should find that level 8, the Malebolge, is eminently suitable for the IPCC crowd.
Level 8, habedashery and ladies whatsits welcomes: magicians, diviners, fortune tellers, and panderers, there is already ample supple of excrement and boiling pitch.
The 9th level, (traitors) is a frigid pit of frozen ice, furthest from source of light and heat.
Satan fans the wastes with his wings, has three faces, the mouths gush foam and CO2, thus keeping the temperature warmer than it would have been otherwise. a sort of dark satanic, green windmill effect.

Loomis and his supporters reserve to themselves an exclusive right to utilize alleged metaphorical appeals to the violent and murderous suppression of dissent. It was Henry II who supposedly engaged in just such a metaphorical appeal to be rid of the troublesome Archbishop of Centerbury, Thomas Becket, which led to Becket’s murder at the hands of the King’s supporters. Loomis being an associate professor of history you would think should be aware of this historical precedent of metaphorical incitement to political murder. Yet, Loomis and his followers have no compunction against using such language to suppreess dissent against Climate Change alarmism or any other of their favored political causes.
