Hilarious! Gore-Olbermann email exchange "leaked"

From the Daily Caller: Keith Olbermann and Al Gore: the secret emails revealed

By Jamie Weinstein and Wil Rahn – The Daily Caller   10:59 PM 04/08/2012

On March 30th, Current TV terminated its relationship with outspoken liberal anchor Keith Olbermann. The Daily Caller has exclusively obtained many of the emails between Olbermann and network founder Al Gore in the months leading up to the split.

They are reprinted here for the first time, in their entirety, and without comment.

FROM: Keith Olbermann

TO: Al Gore

DATE: June 18, 2011

Dear Albert,

“In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.”

Those words come from Samuel Clemens, perhaps better known to you as literary colossus Mark Twain.

I need not tell you, Al, that I am that scarce man who refuses to remain silent when he sees injustice, that patriot who stands tall and strong and brave, even when hated and scorned. And I do see injustice – even here at Current TV.

I tried to remedy my current morass without coming to you, Al, but with no remedy forthcoming, I feel compelled to bring to your attention my roadblock, which you shall note is something far more severe than a mere speed bump.

In the new studio for my show, I find no golden scepter despite my explicit request to Joel Hyatt for one. This will be an indispensable part of my new show and I see no reason why I have to justify its expense.

Also, the Current proletariat seem to have no inhibitions about walking up to me and freely engaging me in conversation, as if I have time for their verbal meanderings. For all their faults, my employers at MSNBC made it explicitly clear that if someone wanted to communicate with me, they could do so — but only through letters written in calligraphy that were deposited in a receptacle outside my office between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.

Why has this same policy not yet been communicated at Current?

In a letter written in his jail cell in Birmingham, Alabama at a time of great tumult, Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote prophetically: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Will you fix my injustices, Al?

Yours Truly,

Keith Theodore Olbermann

Cornell University, Class of 1979

p.s. We also have to replace stinky my car driver — pronto!!!

Alas, my moon is eclipsed, the olives do not speak to me of mock turtle-doves. I have no sense of apricots, no purpose in hugging myself, who is unequal before the tides of Tahiti.

How profound. Well said.

Wow, how far have we come (or gone) in society when people cannot recognize satire without it being labeled as such in bright flashing letters. I needed to “red” no farther than “Golden Scepter” to see it was irony. Where has the critical thinking gone in this society?
By the way Anthony, you should fix that typo at the bottom. Great find. Almost laughed out loud at my desk.

I’m surprised that Hugh P. hasn’t [yet] weighed in with a simpering lecture on double standards and the true heroics of the big Mahalo hisse’f.

What an faux imperious bastard. Who does he think he is… King George III??? Actually, this is very funny. Both Olberman

Did anyone ‘click’ on the ‘red’ link at the bottom of the 2 emails to reveal the other correspondence? Maybe that’s what Anthony was referring to?

The absolute best satire is that which you can’t really tell if it’s real or not.
Yeah. It’s good. Very very good. 🙂

Cornell A&M is more like it. Dufus boy didn’t graduate from an Ivy league school. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it is very wrong to continue to lie about it after you have been caught. Think of the psychology of this man, an inferiority complex, envy, pride, etc.., without a shred of integrity. In fact, if you look up the seven deadly sins in the dictionary, there’s probably a picture of Olbermann front and center. A psychiatrists wet dream, a bigger douche has never been born.

Page 2 of the satirical (can it be anything but?) Dailycaller article contains;
“I’m not happy that you expect me to show up to work regularly and sober.” ROFL

Eh. Boring. How about a new topic?
I’m more interested in SFI (10.7 cm) 93 and SN 25, See solarham.com. Any ideas about why the Sun is so variable? Past peak SC24 (doubtful)? Hathaway prediction is 61/2013. See http://solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov/predict.shtml.

Predicting the behavior of a sunspot cycle is fairly reliable once the cycle is well underway (about 3 years after the minimum in sunspot number occurs [see Hathaway, Wilson, and Reichmann Solar Physics; 151, 177 (1994)]).

Neutron counts are almost back to what they were before the recent X flares. See http://cosmicrays.oulu.fi.

Jeez, I’m not sure you should really post stuff like this. . . . . .
It’s going to take several hours just to clean up my monitor from spewing all over it, and even then I’m not sure I’m going to be able to work for the rest of the day because of the side ache I’ve got from laughing!!
Pure comedy gold. . .

quote by Mike M: “We hate to keep reminding you Keith but you NEVER attended IV League Cornell University and you do NOT have a diploma from there either, you attended the NY land grant College of Agriculture at Cornell.”
Sorry Mike M, I’m not defending Olbermann, but you are 100% wrong. You’re just perpetrating a an old and tired snobbish myth generated by a number of the endowed section graduates and their cronies. All diplomas issued by the College of Agriculture at Cornell as well as all of the other Statutory Colleges at Cornell have printed at the TOP of each diploma “Cornell University” in large black Gothic script. You can confirm this yourself by googling “Cornell University diploma”, and searching for pictures. BTW, the entirety of Cornell University, both the endowed and statutory sections are New York State’s land grant university.
Olbermann likes to spin the truth on many occasions, but this is not one of them.

Well you’d have to be a moron not to work out this is a spoof by the second paragraph but where is this “please note the category this is posted under”.
I have seen this referred to on a number of posts at WUWT but, having scoured the page have never worked out what it refers to or where it is indicated.
REPLY: Then you need either of these two things or both
1. A bigger and/or sharper computer monitor
2. Better powers of observation

Good Grief, if anyone could not figure out those are not a satire after the first few words, I do not want to hear your opinion on climate. You may believe in flying hockey sticks.

Great fun, now all we need is Black taking the hacking of them seriously..
And by the way:
“I am standing in an almond now. It stands inside me.” The almond is:
“An ancient symbol, the mandorla is the most concise way to express Christ’s majesty, glory and divinity in holy icons. It is found surrounding Jesus Christ in icons of His Resurrection, Transfiguration, Ascension, the Dormition, and of Christ in Glory. As with much of the symbolism in Icons, it reveals a straight-forward truth, whilst at the same time containing layers of hidden meaning.
Mandorla is Italian for “almond”, and describes the most common shape of mandorlas, though circular or star-shaped mandorlas are also seen. Also known as a vesica piscis, the oval shape formed by the overlap of two circles as they approach each other.”

In the new studio for my show, I find no golden scepter …
scepter
to endow with the scepter, or emblem of authority; to invest with royal authority. to Britain’s queen the sceptered suppliant bends.
scepter
a staff to lean upon, a scepter; probably akin to e. shaft. see shaft, and cf. scape a stem, shaft.

Sounds to me like he finally got the Royal Shaft.

Good stuff!
Olbermann and Current TV/Al Gore are suing each other, which to me is almost as funny as the faux emails shown here. Normally I can’t stand lawyers but in this case, I hope that the two opposing law firms clean up, thus making the wallets of Olbermann and Gore considerably lighter.

You had me until the calligraphy slipped under the door between 2:30-3:30am. I completely bought the scepter – who wouldn’t have. But after bombing out on the Christian Science Monitor Science Test the other day, I’ve picked up my skeptical boots a little – apparently zygote is not a mythical farm animal.
