Fenbeagle pens a masterpiece in the theme of The Empire Strikes Back. I loved this one:
After watching Mann’s TEDx presentation, I think the above is the scene right before he augers in to the surface of the Death Star.
Fenbeagle has lots more. The one for Tallbloke is quite good.
I give the effort two thumbs up. View it all here.

“Abuse the Forcing”
Mann is really a pirate, not some space ace–he takes people’s money for his “efforts” but hides his “jewels” where only he can find them. At the same time, he boasts he’s a know-it-all “climate scientist”. Time for the his “paste” to be exposed for what it really is.

I think, though, it needs to be made clear to all, the DOJ is not the villain in this piece – they are responding to a request from the UK to secure evidence held by an American entity, not the other way around.

E-mails showed the Department of Energy colluded with Phil Jones in the desire to hide from FOI Acts. That the DOJ is practicing a CYA for the US government is not an outside possibility esp in light of “Fast and Furious” where several people in the US government should be on trial and headed for jail.
At this point I consider the US government criminal unless proven other wise.
Read: Shielding the Giants and THIS before you defend the US government bureaucracy again.
😆
Absolutely brilliant. The only thing missing is a reference to Penn State and its investigation into Dr. Mann’s behavior. If there was some way to work that into a cartoon, I’d like to see it.

Uhhhh…. there were two presidents named Vaclav. The one who just died believed in Global Warming and was a Green supporter. The one you are thining of is the current president, Vaclav Klaus, and he is still very much with us.

Excuse Ms Combs, but please refrain from schooling me on whom I should defend or not. Since things like preservation orders are my stock-in-trade, find somebody else to lecture. I play in that legal sandbox for a living. That certain members of the DOE have culpability seems clear. There’s no CYA on the part of DOJ here; quite the opposite in fact – there efforts may well expose matters to light, not hide them. They are exercising an international agreement between the US and the UK for mutual co-opertion in law enforcement matters. We have the same agreements in place between Canada and the US and the UK. The DOJ’s response is procedural and was in the form of a request. The word is important. When and if the evidence is needed, the wording will be considerably different. Since the preservation order came through the DOJ, the UK request may very likely have come through or under the auspices of the respective state departments
Please people don’t confuse Vaclav Havel with Vaclav Klaus, author of Blue Planet in Green Shackles.
Ye gods! HIS BOOK IS NOT LISTED FOR AMAZON UK. It’s there in German, French, Polish… but no mention of an English imprint… although it’s there at Amazon.com (US). Plus there are only three reviews even there… sounds strangely thin on the ground.
WUWT??

Speaking of FOIA standards there is this report at The Register. Nota bene the seond last paragraph:

Can someone stuff that under Phil Jones’ nose, please?
That plausible. However, it was a blunder to tell WP to not notify any of its customers without the force of law behind it. Jeff found out, and the rest is history. As you suggesting that this was smart law to “request” at the risk of spilling the beans, rather than go straight for the court order? Didn’t seem to turn out that way, did it?

You need to go to the Tallbloke tort post and read my response to your comment on the same point there… She knows exactly what she is doing…
Then what’s the next shoe?
One forcing to rule them all.
It’s getting very expensive to capture R2CO2
Paul Coppin:
So far, I haven’t seen any documentation that specifically locks down
where, when, or who orginated the request for any
sequestration and preservation of data.
The American side may have intiated the request to the U.S. keepers of the
data keys (wordpress, etc.) because of possible Federal investigation into
charges for Climategators’ grant fraud and tax exvasion, and asked the
Brits to assist in nailing down elements of a conspiracy.
Tallbloke’s raid could have been fallout from action on this side of the Atlantic.
The British “plods” would be under no obligation to say their raid was done to
accommodate any DoJ requests.
Never assume facts that are not in evidence.
