The death spiral of PM Julia Gillard and the Labor Party in Australia continues, and it has been pretty much a sealed fate thanks to one nameless woman in gift shop where Gillard got cornered, and this lady stood up to not only Gillard, but a member of Parliament. According to Andrew Bolt at the Herald Sun, this video has been been getting wide circulation on TV networks, or as he says “…every TV bulletin ran this”.
Watch this lady take down the whole Gillard carbon tax scheme in just a few minutes. I love the way she shuts down the assistant Graeme Perrett, Member of Parliament. Video follows:
And it gets worse. Bolt writes on his blog:
The public has spoken and it’s over
Julia Gillard kept her cool admirably at the people’s forum in Brisbane last night, yet the whole thing was a disaster for her. No Labor MP watching could conclude that the party has a hope under a woman so distrusted.

Maybe they should have that on T-shirts. Even better still “When you start telling the truth I’ll vote for you!”
Given the voting record of the public at large, odds are good anyone wearing that statement would be wearing a lie.
This will never end as long as people keep ignoring or excusing the lies. I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
My heart and sympathies go out to you. Every country on Earth is struggling with this terrible yoke. Look what is happening in Egypt, Libya, Syria etc. The government is NOT the “LAST WORD”, obviously. Thankfully, more enlightened democracies, have other means, of accommodating public demands – such as impeachment, general strikes, peaceful demonstration, letters to editors, etc. etc.
The World aches for some country to stand up to this nonsense, unequivocally reject it, and show us a better way, of open truth.
That and a buck will get you a cup of coffee!
Those amazing people like Agnostic’s father, must take back the rule of their country. If you don’t… then Gillard is what you deserve.
Sorry, that’s STILL, the long and short, of it. GK
Ms. Gillard’s bafflegab meets the Axe of Truth in the hands of a couple of very plucky average Australians… Just love it.
I think she is about to have a “Read My Lips – No New Taxes” ax moment… Ought to have looked at what happened the other time a politician made a bald faced lie about not increasing taxes… Straight to the dumper…
gilliard is 100% reliable and trustworthy – she will do what gilliards do. count on it.
it does not take more than a simple mind to grasp this.
here is where the lesson is to be found: if that lady is something you call “plucky”, you are soooo doomed.
‘how can i trust you?’ heh- you can totally trust her. she can totally trust you to do what you reliably do – beg, whine and bend over for the next ‘chance’
so if there is any problem with negotiating a buggering, it’s not gilliard’s problem.
it will be your problem next time, too. you just never learn.
Ah, the sound of clashing realities …
Music for the 21st century? (Just as the Ideological March was the most prominent tune in the 20th.)
the Carbon Tax … the Carbon Tax …
I’m trying to recall where in Gulliver’s Travels that idea appears. I’m sure it was in the section on the Lilliputians but I don’t remember exactly where.
What would I give for an open mic. on Juliar, after that little encounter.
It was the undoing of Gordon Brown.
That Dear old Lady. Now she is what Australia can still be proud of. That calm, deliberate, determination, that will not be silenced. ( as opposed to the bare faced, duplicitous, patronising behaviour from the one entrusted to Lead the Nation).
I have had the great pleasure of working in Australia and with Australians. The one thing that is common to all Aussies, regardless of political preference, is they do not suffer fools or insincerity very well.
Gillard is well beyond the fool state. She is plumbing new depths of insincerity.
I’d say she’s done like dinner . . . .

In all this I have not yet heard the Abbott stating that he will perform the simple expedient of repealing the carbon tax when he gets in.
.
If I recall correctly, Abbott has said on numerous occasions “We will oppose it in Opposition and repeal it in Government.”
