Give this lady an Order of Australia medal

The death spiral of PM Julia Gillard and the Labor Party in Australia continues, and it has been pretty much a sealed fate thanks to one nameless woman in gift shop where Gillard got cornered, and this lady stood up to not only Gillard, but a member of Parliament. According to Andrew Bolt at the Herald Sun, this video has been been getting wide circulation on TV networks, or as he says “…every TV bulletin ran this”.

Watch this lady take down the whole Gillard carbon tax scheme in just a few minutes. I love the way she shuts down the assistant Graeme Perrett, Member of Parliament. Video follows:

And it gets worse. Bolt writes on his blog:

The public has spoken and it’s over

Julia Gillard kept her cool admirably at the people’s forum in Brisbane last night, yet the whole thing was a disaster for her. No Labor MP watching could conclude that the party has a hope under a woman so distrusted.

Gillard was a socialist when she started out and remained a member of the Socialist forum from ’98 – 2002. She only moved to Labor because, beside there being no difference between Labor and Socialists, the Socialist Party never wins any seats. She has no problem redistributing the Australian people’s money overseas because, as a politician, she’s assured her pocket will be filled with the taxpayers’ money first.
“The Socialist Forum was established in 1984, initially by disaffected members of the Communist Party of Australia (CPA). Its membership included Australian Labor Party (ALP) members and political activists . . . (Its) stated aim was to contribute to the development of democratic socialism in Australia . . .”
And one of its unstated aims was to help former communists join Labor.

It was all that guff she spouted (in the 2nd video) about ‘how she was brought up’ that got me. Its kinda hard to believe that anyone could ‘bring up’ a slimy lying little c0w like that.
Is that the state of the Aussie Labour Party – it certainly seems to be that of the UK Labour Party. The fact that Tony Blair, over the course of 10 years, tripled the size of the UK Statute Book speaks volumes. (and is voluminous, now) What I read of it that they regard the rest of the UK population as grasping lying little scumbags that cannot be trusted. It was/is nothing more than a reflection of themselves.
Ranting on, anecdotally it seems that the UK is setting the pace re: exporting pollution and making itself ‘green’ by, get a load of this, burning Chinese sourced wood pellets in a large UK power station. Gobsmacking is not the word
and I thought it was bad enough that UK’s largest supermarket (Tesco) is selling home BBQ charcoal, yet again, sourced from China. From “Certified Cottonwood trees” each 5Kg sackful declares.
They ain’t selling a lot of it of course. This year’s rampantly out of control Global Warming has put paid to any chance of anybody having a BBQ anywhere in the UK.

Regarding the videos, Gillard’s responses are typical politician baloney. Are you sure she is not from the US?
=================================
Clearly not. Otherwise it wouldn’t be called a carbon tax, it would be a kinetic revenue action.

I, unfortunately, have only known about a dozen Australians, during my long life. They have all seemed to be like Agnostic’s father, July 14, 2011 at 12:29 am. Very intelligent, grounded to earth, no BS, type people.
I am at a total loss, trying to reconcile, my image above, with the reality of the self inflicted injury, presently happening in Australia. It’s not enough to blame this mess on the politicians. It must be shared by those who put them in power. Those amazing people like Agnostic’s father, must take back the rule of their country. If you don’t… then Gillard is what you deserve.
Sorry, that’s, the long and short, of it. GK

Where does one stand legally for buying carbon credits from overseas? CO2 isn’t exactly a ‘local’ problem therefore carbon credits should be purchasable from any nation that issues them. A careful shopper could buy credits for ‘pennies’ in some markets……….

That’s funny. Your father Colin must be telepathically connected to one ‘John Holmes’ who left an almost identical post on the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills Blog in response to a request for feedback by Sir John Beddington th UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser.

G Karst, (14/07 – 11.45am) we are in this situation because, over time, our education has been taken over by socialists; we have a compulsory voting system where many people do not follow the issues but vote according to who promises the most largesse; our media is also tainted by socialist educators as most journalists now attend university where many of the educators push Marxist or Socialist ideology.
As an example – when the Labor gov’t decided to change our Health system by socialising it and met resistance from doctors, the Prime Minister of the day (Gough Whitlam) acted to change their minds by this process. He said ‘Stuff their mouths with money.’ and he did! We now have a very expensive and ever failing health system.
The same is now happening with this nonsensical ‘Carbon Tax” where the ‘people are being promised full compensation’ to ensure their agreement. Unfortunately, Gillard does not have to face an election to implement this policy because of her lie, and because the minority Labor party, with the support of the socialist Greens and the moronic Independents can get it through parliament.
Australia’s people are waking up but at the moment the situation is horrible.

What annoys me is that at least the Greens are open about their policies… the loony policies they announce is what they push for. Labor under Joooolya, on the other hand, is wafting in the wind and bending whichever way they can to maintain their precious minority Government. It was, is and will be a recipe for disaster because we all know the Greens are running the puppet show.

Any way to INCREASE CO2, I reckon rather than dodging the bullet, we just get busy making more of this nutritious trace gas. See its like a sticking plaster, we keep trying to ease it away, lets just get in there are rip the bugger off. On the count of three,…exhale deeply.
Poor old Julia, no matter how much she holds her breath, the carbon just keeps a comin’.

She lies and obfuscates as well as any politician. What she forgot to do was to pre-screen her audience and put friends in the group that she could call on so she would know what the questions would be ahead of time. Also, allowing follow-up questions and comments is not a good idea. One question, one evasive non-answer, no follow up.
She needs to take a lesson from Obama, who continues to lie, and no one is allowed to get a straight answer from him. In the US, people who tell the truth are shunned, reprimanded, and tossed aside. Truth is anathema to maintaining power in the US. The less we know, the less we need to think, the easier to rule us. We can’t even choose what kind of light bulbs to buy, testament to lack of respect we get from out gracious and all-knowing leaders.

Yes but the problem is..how many times have you ever seen a Green member asked a hardball question by MSM in Australia… I never have..I have watched abc “journalists” get into frothing frenzies about sceptics..but they never say peep to a Green..and I would also like to help the Greens raise funds for there web site. 🙂
The poor Greens dont have enough funds to restore their climate poll back online..,
Please help them LOL

What people need to recognise is that this is not about global warming (even these people can’t honestly believe that Australia’s contribution will make a difference), however it is about tax reform and social engineering. Julia and the Greens are implementing a tax fraud on a grand scale under the guise of a carbon tax. In reality much of what she is compensating with has already been reccomended to government because it ends up being cost neutral. The real point is that the compensation will not cover years 3 an 4 onwards, but then that’s after the next election.

Nothing particularly American about political waffle. I’ve lived in Australia, Britain, Sweden, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and the US. All their politicians are like that. As far as I can tell, the same is true of every other country as well.

Roha, your mental balance and blood pressure will benefit if you assume all politicians are criminal psychopaths. You will rarely be disappointed by anything they do and now and again, one may provide a pleasant surprise by proving that they are not a criminal psychopath, at least on that occasion.
After all what kind of mentality does it take to be willing to force people to your will by sending armed men to their dwelling?

In the U.S. we have people who vote according to placement on the ballot. I recall one old fellow who, in the year 2000 mess in Florida, was complaining that he always votes for the top name on each ballot race, a straight ticket, because the Democrats are always listed first, and in this election he was tricked because someone switched places on the ballot. He wanted his vote adjusted accordingly. As you can see in democracies there is a lot of thought that goes into the election.

“if you assume all politicians are criminal psychopaths.”
Actually, I assume they are all lying criminal psychopaths. I make the same assumptions about almost everyone in a position of power, but especially the Big Money boys who spruik “free markets/less government” when what they mean is “free hand for looting the country and destroying the lives of everyone else.”
That’s why I think we’re doomed.

I really love watching the third leg of the global government stool crash and burn. Australia is just a comic tragedy in the global carbon tax scam.
“Once seen as a potential bonanza by governments, investment bankers, and alternative energy proponents, carbon dioxide credits have become close to worthless in trading exchanges and are now being shunned by investors.”
“New Jersey Leads the Way
RGGI received more bad news recently when New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced his state would be leaving the group at the end of the year. New Jersey’s unemployment rate is currently 9.3 percent, and Christie is trying to create a more business-friendly climate in his state. RGGI does not fit into those plans.
“Americans for Prosperity has exposed the RGGI cap-and-trade scheme as nothing less than a devious and immoral scam that will make the mortgage-backed derivatives scheme look like child’s play,” said Steve Lonegan, New Jersey state director for Americans for Prosperity. “This is a regressive, stealth tax on electricity that destroys jobs, does nothing whatsoever to address so-called global climate change, and is being exploited by insiders and speculators who see the potential to make massive profits on the backs of ratepayers. Thankfully, we are beginning to see this scheme unravel.”
New Jersey’s withdrawal from RGGI and the failed auction in June are unmistakable signs RGGI’s days are numbered, Lonegan says.
“I believe this signals the beginning of the end of RGGI and the end of cap-and-trade here in the United States. It’s just a matter of time until the entire RGGI scheme collapses of its own weight,” Lonegan predicted.

Old Woman of the North:
You are so 100% right about education.
Here and in every western country, the Left have had their way with education—in Australia it’s been especially so since the early sixties—and they’ve been able to snow politicians and parents no matter which side of politics is in power, because the education bureaucrats and academics are almost all of the Left.
They crippled a generation or more of Western children with a merry-go round of ‘new schemes’ designed not to educate children, but to give the academics and bureaucrats some new Socialist-inspired plaything to take with them to international conferences at taxpayers’ expense .
At the conferences, they indulge in back-slapping reinforcement of their post-modern credentials, quoting Freire, Gramsci and all the usual suspects—-and plan their next assault on the western democracies via our children.
In fact, it seems their aim is not just to provide a sub-standard education, but primarily to deprive children of real literacy , in order to limit their ability to think beyond all the fashionable mantras and persuasions— to make them susceptible to slogans and inducements, and to limit their ability to think beyond the blinkered tunnel vision of the indoctrinated —to embed in them the ‘move on’ mentality that characterises socialist activism.
I think our children are being groomed rather than educated.
If Western educators were part of the Communist Chinese Asymmetric Warfare strategy, they could not do a more effective job of sabotaging the West.
John Howard tried as valiantly as any politician could, to rid us of their damaging subversive curriculum elements and methods, but was thwarted at every turn by the broad spectrum of the Left with the enthusiastic assistance as always , of the almost 100% Leftist mainstream media.
The media is the key—they’ll always move mountains for the Left—as they’re now trying to do with the CO2 tax issue.
In education, in the climate change issue, in Treasury, the health bureaucracy, banking, and on every level, we ‘re suffering the consequences of the well-planned and relentlessly- executed ‘long march of the Left through the institutions’.
Only after Labor brings Australia to the edge of the precipice, as they always have done, do the Australian people stir and decide enough’s enough, and go after them with the proverbial baseball bats.

Ooooh that’s bad. We had a guy like that around here for the last few years (“You’re quoting me out of context”). In a single year he doubled the debt, created a huge future debt in public-private partnerships and now we have the IMF here and we were sold for the next 30 years.
