Some news about what went down today.
About noon PST, wordpress.com started having trouble globally, and I could not access the administration system. I was completely locked out as were thousands of other wordpress.com users. I also don’t know if comments during this outage were saved or not. If you made comments today and they are gone, this is likely the reason. I also lost a post in editing.
WordPress had up a short blurb earlier about the outage, but has been taken down shortly after service was restored around 7PM this evening. I expect they’ll have an official announcement soon.
It may be related to what happened last week, and this is round two.
