“….. there’s this legislator in congress (a Rino, of course) who might be
appointed as head of an energy committee ~ His name is Fred Upton …..”

The current Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee is Joe Barton (R-TX 6th) and the logical choice for the Chair, both by custom and credentials. Who is pushing Upton?

“Can we get a link about the depressed attendance?”
I don’t know about the overall attendance, but this link (post by James Painter Friday 26 Nov 2010 – currently second post on the site)
http://ecioxford.blogspot.com/ mentions journalists down by half compared to Copenhagen and heads of state down from 120 to about 20.
Do you get the impression that James seems to rather like the warm weather in Cancun? It’s pretty cold in Oxford just now…

This is the best part from the article you just linked:
One of communist China’s big qualms last year was the lack of a global population-control regime as part of the package to combat alleged warming. That government enforces a strict one-child policy, even forcing women to have abortions if they already have one child. According to the regime, this helps limits CO2 (carbon dioxide, also known as plant food) emissions.

I’m thinking the attendance is low thus far because everyone is still walking, hiking, cycling, and paddling their way as we speak.
That takes a lot longer than flying you know.

(SarcOn) I’ll bet the Mexicans give themselves a CO2 Credit for every person they send across the Rio Grande too. Yep!!! The ONLY WAY to cut CO2 is to limit population. Developed Nations need to cut their populations by at least 101% Annualy. I have a funny feeling behind my left ear that there’s going to be a Big Carbon Unit Reduction Effort soon. I think the North Koreans will probably start it and China will try to finish it within 10 Months. In the West the survivors will call it WWIII, in the East it will be called something like “The Great War of Global Liberation” or something like that. People never change! (SarcOff)
