Friday Funny – Congressional Frosh

Elmer Beauregard of Minnesotans for Global Warming writes in with today’s funny: M4GW’s Newest Song – I’m a Denier

He writes:

It’s a parody of “I’m a Believer” written by Neil Diamond and performed by the Monkees. This version was written by Elmer Beauregard and Brian D. Smith and performed by Elmer and the M4GW players.

This song is in honor of all the new Republican Freshman entering Congress and the Senate most of whom are Deniers and proud of it.

I think this is song may be our “Tour de Farce”

Well at least he didn’t choose Manfred Mann’s “Blinded by the light”. Watch below.

I guess Mann is getting ready for the final collapse of AGW and the end of the money train it has brought him.
He is good with the hockey sticks. That takes skillz.

Good work lads! You provide hope that in some future moment we here in Minnesota will be remembered for something other than inflicting Al Franken and Jesse Ventura on the world.

Oh-oh, MM is not gonna like that likeness of him. Glass of water for MM.
I agree, I think it’s the best yet. We get videos like these, and they get red buttons blowing people who don’t agree to smithereens. Our side is way cooler. And right, to boot!

Bloody good laugh, thanks M4GW. In one brilliant effort you have removed the stigma of the D word and poked fun at it. Marvelous!

Waaay kool. Made my day!

So can Michael Mann sue them for using a stage double of Michael Mann that looks more like Michael Man than the actual photograph of Michael Mann used in Hide the Decline?

I love M4GW and this new music video is excellent as usual.

“This is even funnier than “Hide the Decline” which was purged from YouTube because Mann got his knickers all in a twist.”
I don’t think the purge was ever 100% effective. MG4W removed the instance they themselves put on youtube and took down the instance on their own website but there was nothing they could do (or wanted to do) to stop anyone else.
Here is an original copy with 105,000 plays that’s been up 10 months now:

“It appears nearly everyone has come away with the same impression…who knew Michael Mann could play drums?
This is even funnier than “Hide the Decline” which was purged from YouTube because Mann got his knickers all in a twist.”
Hide the decline can still be viewed. Just google it and it pops up. I agree, it is quite good as well.

M4GW could certainly teach the 10:10 zealots a thing or two about how to make your points in a genuinely funny way.

At 0:19, when the guy standing there with the hockey stick’s face becomes recognizable; I about fell out of my chair!!! It took me a few seconds to realize that’s not M(he who must not be named)M.
The whole thing is great; from the very ironic glacial terrain to the Benny Hill ending and everything in between.
Congrats M4GW, well done.
Too funny, happy Friday!

Good thing Mikey can’t sue because the drummer happened to look a bit like him (much better looking than MM, IMO).
Love it Elmer! Congrats again!
Thanks for posting, Anthony. I haven’t been on You Tube for a while so I would have missed it.

The irony of using auto-tune at the end… if the data don’t fit, you must admit.

I vote grammy and oscar…

Wonderful. You know, Michael Mann always acts like such a jerk and yet here he is showing what a good sport he is. Well done, Michael.
Now do it for real and not rely on a doppelganger.

Brilliant. Great lyrics and well performed.
Once we start laughing at ‘them’ the battle is more than half one.
Laughing at old Adolf and his team cheered everyone up during WW2.
Dr. Watkins, you’re absolutely right. I offer a WWII example, sung to the tune of Colonel Bogey (tune whistled decades later in the film, “Bridge on the River Kwai”:
Hitler has only got one ball;
Goering has two, but they are small;
Himmler has something similar,
But Dr. Goebbels has no balls
At all.
It still cheers me up.

Hey, isn’t Minnesota known for their love of hockey? I hear Mr. Mann is pretty good with a hockey shtick. Maybe a good match…

Thank you M4GW.
If Michael Mann is willing to sue to prohibit the use of his image in M4GW productions the drummer presents a lot of opportunity for using a double instead of Michael Mann images? A real-life double provides even more flexibility than images.

It looks like Manfred Mann beats Michael Mann. 🙂
