Quote of the week #31: Bubba disses the Goreacle

qotw_cropped

I never thought I’d find myself agreeing with and laughing along with form President Bill Clinton. But when his former boss disses the Goreacle, perhaps it is time to rethink some views.

From the Wall Street Journal, this gem of a sound bite:

Former President Bill Clinton made a return to Washington’s public life, speaking to the annual Gridiron Dinner as a stand-in for President Barack Obama […]

Elsewhere in his remarks, he noted he was speaking on the night before the start of spring, “otherwise known to Al Gore as proof of global warming.”

I thought that Bill Clinton was magnificent as US President and a complete failure as a husband.

And he put in an appeal for continued help to Haiti, where he and former President George W. Bush became reconstruction ambassadors at the request of President Obama after the recent earthquake there. He urged the journalists: “Keep it in the public eye for the next two or three years,” while international aid helps Haiti rebuild. “Hold us accountable.”
HOLY SAMOLEY. Bill Clinton actually asking to be held accountable for something.

I’d laugh, except that the Arkansan otherwise renown as Monica Lewinsky’s part-time gigolo was out the other day trying to sell some Congresspeople on the idea that Cap and Trade really wasn’t enough – we need more

Thank mauibrad…
“predictions of climate change and its impacts at more localized scales and over shorter time periods than have previously been possible”!
This is bound to get completely ridiculous. Weather can be climate, if you want it to be.

Gore, who has put aside campaigning to crusade and educate Americans on the effects of global warming, is the star of “An Inconvenient Truth,” a documentary that chronicles his factual — sometimes funny, yet disturbing — slideshow lectures about climate change.

Everything is proof of global warming to believers, even the coldest weather for 130 years is proof of glob… oh, excuse me it’s “climate change” now isn’t it?
The British government seems like it is backing away from their “evil carbon dioxide” message in favour of a new “evil air pollution” tactic.
The entire British media is now carrying alarming stories about how hundreds of people are dying every week because of polluting gasses and particulates. Curiously, carbon dioxide has been left off the list of “killer” polluting gasses, and the new message is that “climate change policies keep you healthier”.
British observers may find government ministers advocating life-extending policies a bit strange, because for the last three months there has been extensive coverage in all the media about how worried the government are about finding enough money to look after all the people reaching extended old age. Apparently, we’ve never lived this long before, and, as a nation, we’ve never been healthier.

Interest in Global Warming dropping like a stone
Well guys, it looks like you’ve done it!
I just did a search for “global warming” on google, and so few people in the Main Stream Media** were covering it that it was bottom of the page of 100 “more important” pages.
Global warming is now the swine-flu of science. No one will admit they were wrong to over hype the threat, but similarly no one in the Main Stream Media is calling for mass vaccination against this planetary fever.
Which puts those calling for action on global warming in the same category as those calling for action to prevent asteroids hitting the earth, preparing for alien landings or putting their heads into cryogenic freezes.
**The only “mainstream” media is the guardian: which probably tells you more about whether the guardian is still worth being described as mainstream than anything else.

Some people have got such short memories.
It was only last year that Billory Clinton, on a trip to India to drum up support for cap and trade pre Copenhagen, was apologizing for the US contribution to global warming.
Does anybody remember that, no?
The Clintons are up to their necks in cap and trade and AGW fraud.
What Billy boy seems to be doing here is feeling around for the ladder on which he hopes to guide the Democrats assent from this fraud. Looks more like an attempt at a total climb down disguised as a joke.
Well I’m not laughing. And as for the ladder that these crooks are trying to climb down on………
The “greenhouse effect” hypothesis of CO2 is based on the claim that Oxygen and Nitrogen do not absorb infrared radiation.
Only “greenhouse gases” absorb infrared according to this hypothesis.
It has been necessary to falsely claim that Oxygen and Nitrogen are transparent to infrared radiation in-order to demonise CO2 and other gases and blame them for causing atmospheric warming.
All gases absorb and re-emit infrared radiation. The fallacy of CO2 “greenhouse effect” is the keystone of AGW fraud.
Air is :
20% Oxygen
79% Nitrogen
0.0385% CO2
Inconvenient truth:
Air, pure oxygen and pure nitrogen all absorb more infrared radiation than pure CO2.
For proof, see here: “AGW Debunked for £3.50”
and for verification see here:
“A close up of an infrared absorption band for NITROGEN”,
“Infrared absorption bands for OXYGEN”,
“Specific Heat Capacity of Gases”
These people cannot pretend to be ignorant of these facts. They cannot say we didn’t know. They have gone out of their way to hide the truth in order to enslave the world with their cap and trade scam, knowing full well that it is based on fallacies. Bill Clinton has been in on the scam for just as long as Al Gore. He is as guilty of AGW fraud as the rest of them.

Yep. It was Bill Clinton who signed the Kyoto Protocol. Thankfully, the Senate refused to ratify that insane attempt to have us commit economic suicide.
Clinton is never really for or against anything other than the betterment of Bill Clinton. Still, anytime he decides to take a shot at Gore it works for me.

Saw a cartoon today in some print journal so I can’t link to it but it went like this . . .
Al on stage with his powerpoint thingy . .
Some guy asks ” what if we made the world nice when we didn’t need to?”.
That’s the new thrust . . never mind the science and taxes and wind farms , lets use AGW to just make the world nicer.
They really miss the point don’t they?

Any dumb a** can create ‘peace’ and ‘prosperity’ by letting everyone take advantage of you, and borrowing/printing more and more Monopoly money – but there comes a time when some poor sod is going to have to pay it all back and finally say ‘no’ to the more aggressive ‘friends’ and ‘allies’.
The Chinese have enough I.O.U.s from the USA to buy the whole damn nation – and watch out, ‘cos they may just do that. This was not peace and prosperity, it was storing up problems for the next generation.
(And that comment was not supposed to be party party political, as both sides were as bad as each other at fiscal irresponsibility.)

But this just brings to attention these people’s attitude. They manipulate the system, play with people’s lives, then crack jokes when the scam is revealed. Then all of us serfs applaud them and laud them, give the standing ovations, fawn and swoon at their royal majesty. It makes me sick.
The kings and queens of antiquity didn’t go anywhere. They just changed their titles. They still live in their castles surrounded by guards, they still tax the serfs and get fat off of others’ misery and sorrow. And they still starts wars all around the globe to fill their coffers. And we still grumble in the shadows, yet applaud whenever they’re near.

Oximoron: “Climate Change”
At least with “Anthroprogenic Global Warming” we knew what Fat Albert was trying to say.
What is “Climate Change”? I thought one of the fundamental components of “Climate” was “Change”.
Who’s fault is “Climate Change”?
Fat Albert, Mann, Jones, etc., etc., seem to be saying it’s “our” fault. But… I thought the Earth had “climate change” before amobia’s started puttering around.
We’re all crazy! That’s the only explaination. We’re all on one long LSD Trip and Fat Albert is the Leader of the Band, The Bus Driver, the Conductor, Die Furehur.

Kate 02.04.23. woke me up ! This morning I watched a little of BBC Breakfast as usual and heard this peculiar individual with designer stubble over his head as well as his chin telling me that atmospheric pollution was hastening the death of 50,000 of my countrymen each year. I allowed this to flow past me as I do with all pronouncements from men with designer stubble but then I read Kate’s entry.
What is coming next? How about ” too much exercise causes you to breathe deeply thereby causing you to take in CO2 which causes you to put on weight”
If any research group gets a grant to study this I shall expect to get a cut.
