Earlier this week I submitted a comment to EPA’s supplemental NPRM posted on 9-17-2026, which is titled “Rescission of the Greenhouse Gas Findings for Fossil Fuel-Fired Power Plants and Repeal of Regulations for Power Plant Greenhouse Gas Emissions Under Clean Air Act Section 111”

Here is the first part.
“This comment is in strong support of the following statement from section V “Rescission of the 2015 Findings”:
“Global climate change concerns involve causal relationships that are too uncertain, conjectural, remote, and convoluted by intervening and confounding factors to fit within the terms “cause,” “contribute,” and “reasonably be anticipated to endanger” as used in CAA section 111(b)(1)(A).””
And my conclusion,
“The honest conclusion must be, in this writers view, that none of the time-step-iterated models produces, or has ever produced, any reliable policy-actionable information relevant to anthropogenic warming from GHGs. In other words, the use of time-step-iterated models as pre-stabilized “ceteris paribus” platforms for introduction of time-scheduled GHG “forcings” for projection of future climate states has been unsound all along, leaving “global climate change concerns” indeed “too uncertain, conjectural, remote, and convoluted…” as EPA has now stated in this supplemental proposal.”
So you can see that EPA is proposing to rescind the earlier Findings on grounds that the scientific claims on which they were based do not meet the statutory threshold for regulation. Good.
Interestingly, EPA is proposing a separate “futility” argument. They did their own internal assessment using simplified modeling to demonstrate the de minimis “climate” mitigation projected to result from the earlier rulings.
“The EPA requests comment on its proposal that the futility of regulating GHG emissions from fossil fuel-fired power plants supports its interpretation that CAA section 111(b)(1)(A) does not authorize such regulation based on global climate change concerns.”
The full EPA document is here, open for comment through November 2nd. It’s a very complicated matter, but necessarily so, as I see it. Lee Zeldin gets great credit for taking on this difficult work.

“When these regulations become law, will the RGGI be disbanded?”
Probably not, as participation in the misguided RGGI is a state matter. One hopes, however, that the federal position will ultimately prevail in the politics of the matter, as it becomes clearer that the RGGI states are just making themselves uncompetitive for industry and for sustaining their own populations.
I informed Roger C. that the RGGI is an illegal alliance and is in violation of Article 1 Section 10 Clause 3 of the US Consitution. He informed me that he informed the NY Republican Party of this and that they should withdraw the state from the RGGI if elected to majority power. What is the chance of Republicans winning majority in the state assembly?
Article 1 Section 10 Clause 3 of the US Constitution states: No state shall, without the consent of the Congress, keep troops or ships of war in peace time or enter into any agreement or compact with another state or foreign power, or engage in war, except when the state is actually invaded or facing imminent danger that cannot wait for federal action.
To me “alliance” seemed a reasonable synonym for “agreement” or for “compact”. I’ll use “illegal agreement” or “illegal compact” in future comments.
There is another reason ending the RGGI. Most all the CO2 emitted from natural sources and all the CO2 emitted by activities of humans is absorbed by the oceans so that one cubic meter of air currently contains only a mere 0.84 grams of CO2. This trace amount of CO2 in the air can have no effect on weather and climate.
BTW: Check out the US Climate Alliance. Is this Alliance in violation of the US Constitution? I think I go to their website and inform them that CO2 does not cause global warming.

nice number is the 0.84gm/m3. Assuming its (15um) 100% thermalised and dispersed into the heat capacity/emissivity weighted average for all matter it then contacts , including itself, and convert it to the 1atm surface (where we live) temperature equivalent. use as many decimals after the zero as you require.

Andy Burnham sets up ‘Ministry of Truth’

Nobody believes that complete and utter bolleaux. We know exactly what it is for – it is entirely for policing domestic thinking and opinion. And as everybody also knows: the process is the punishment.
Burnham states that the new govt unit is primarily focused on fighting the disinformation campaign coming out of Russia.
“Burnham singled out Vladimir Putin’s regime, claiming Russian agencies pump huge resources into information warfare aimed at undermining British democracy and stirring unrest. The government says the new centre will be tasked to “detect, attribute and disrupt” information attacks, including foreign deepfakes and AI-driven campaigns designed to damage UK interests.”
It would not surprise me in the least however if the new govt unit was used against domestic critics of the UK’s government as well. This of course might very well include those who question the climate alarmist narrative which is still is still the basis for the UK’s govt policy on climate and energy as I understand it.
It must be extraordinarily difficult for the UK’s Labour govt to even think about backing away from the climate alarmist narrative and its program of decarbonizing the UK with wind turbines, solar panels, and EVs. Never mind all of the science that debunks the alarmism. Nevertheless, as I have said in the past, Orwellian Big Brother is alive and well on the east side of the North Atlantic–at least when it comes to climate and energy issues.

Unfortunately, Trump’s tariff have reduced the export of lumber to the US market. The tariffs will increase the cost of new US houses. BC supplies ca. 25% of the US lumber market. Before Trump’s new tariffs, the tariff on BC export lumber was 14%. This was due to a Senator from Montana who claimed that BC unfairly subsidized the lumber industry.
There has been some talk of embargoing the export of lumber from Canada in retaliation from Trump’s tariffs and restrictive trade policies.
I’m not sure the maximum will increase immediately. Arctic sea ice will increase over the next decade but it will have build up from the center core of ice outward (top down?). That’s why the biggest changes will show up in the next few months. Then each year will likely build on those increases.
This is how the 60-70 year cycle begins its cool phase and cooling of the Earth will follow.

I doubt that. I think the re-radiation at 4.26 um was continuously just returned to the source and around/
I remember that my mother mentioned that the weather was “sweltering” if it had been hot on a summer’s day and clouds rose late in the afternoon. The heat radiation from the ground then goes up to the clouds and returns again by the back radiation of the clouds, giving you that sweat at the sides of your head… Also. On a completely cloudless day it happens that we reach for our sunglasses in the car while we drive away from the sun. So why is that? That is because, if the air moisture content is high, there can be back radiation from the water vapor in the spectrum of light and the wavelengths where we can ‘see’. Hence, the colors of sunlight in the rain (rainbow) and the colors of a dewdrop. The general physical explanations for this is: refraction. But what if refraction is simply absorption followed by emission?
I was at church today and I was blessed today knowing that Jesus = truth and that Jesus has already won. He destroyed all the lies. So, we have already won. It is just a matter of time. We just have to speak the Word more clearly: the science about CO2 being evil is not correct. I even put the sermon on my website now. ‘Words matter: Speak life!’ There is no negative about the truth. But I agree that we face an enemy who is relentless. To pronounce the gas that gives life as being evil, is probably similar to pronouncing a whole race as evil, like it happened in WW2. Maybe WW3 is in the making…?

The extraodrdinary occurrence of a ‘religion’ of some sort in every single tribe of Homo sapiens must have a Darwinian evolutionary explanation , it must provide a biological survival advantage to the tribe as you suggest .

Is anyone here going to defend the scene that played out in the people’s house over the weekend, where an American president stood with a communist dictator and laughed at and mocked his childish depiction of a past president? A man who has stage four cancer. I say it is one of the saddest days in US political history.

Of course they have, it is what people on opposite sides of political debates do…. but as far as I know, no one before Trump has ever giggled at a past president (dying or otherwise) with a foreign adversary in the White House. Very different things. And let’s not forget, it was Xi who Trump accused of helping Biden cheat in the 2020 election.

Any chance of an update on WUWT’s USCRN monthly data, still featured in the site’s “US Surface Temperature” side panel?
It’s still only showing data up to May, 2026; whereas USCRN has been updated to August already.
The fact that summer (June, July, August) 2026 was the warmest on record for the US, not just for USCRN but also ClimeDiv and UAH, surely hasn’t played a role in this negligence, has it?
