Live at 1 P.M. ET: We’re Winning! Climate Alarmism Is Losing Its Grip

The Heartland Institute

Is the media’s nonstop climate panic finally losing steam?

Major outlets are scaling back climate coverage. The Washington Post fired 13 Climate Desk reporters, NPR disbanded its climate desk, Politico is folding E&E News into its main operation, and the latest UN climate negotiations in Germany saw the fewest journalists in attendance in more than a decade.

Are these signs that climate realism is winning the debate, or just a temporary lull before the alarmists regroup?

On Episode #206 of The Climate Realism Show, The Heartland Institute’s Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, H. Sterling Burnett, and Jim Lakely welcome Anika Sweetland of the CO2 Coalition to discuss the latest signs of momentum for climate realism.

We’ll also cover the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including:

A UN plan to tax global shipping and aviation over greenhouse gas emissions
Claims that climate change is ruining our sleep
How China is exploiting the global climate agenda for economic warfare
And more

It falls under the “look grasshoppers” phenomenon.

And Stonehenge was closed because of the heat.
Serves them right for never putting the roof on. Typical UK infrastructure fail.

A new dangerous infringement on basic civil liberties under the pretext of “climate”.
Similarly, France just banned drinking in public and sales of alcohol after 18h because of the risk you may drink too much and end up in hospital.

Since Pres. Macaroon has close thousands of hospital beds and dozens of hospitals the staff may be inundated if any event means more demand on services.

Europe just promised to BORROW another 90BN euros to give to the coke addicts in Keeeeev but can’t provide basic health care to their own populations.

My wife is Ukrainian and I absolutely object to your disparagement propaganda.

If you are a Putin activist, of course you will claim it is true.
But that claim is false.

Stone Henge was very well designed. Windows are open at night to aid cooling. It’s build in the shape of a giant fan. High thermal inertia ensures excellent thermal stability.

Mind you I don’t know how much CO2 all those pagans must have exhaled during the effort of cutting and displacing all that granite.

https://reneweconomy.com.au/its-now-a-no-brainer-fortescue-says-trump-has-done-more-for-renewables-than-anyone-in-100-years/

“What we’ve seen in the Strait of Hormuz, and I can’t believe I’m going to be saying these words, but Trump’s done more to progress the climate agenda in three months than anybody has in the last 100 years.

“This is not just a morality cause for climate change, it is economic, profitable, and a no-brainer,” he said.”I think there’s been a lot of talk, and we’ve been behind a lot of it over the last five years, but the world is now starting to open.”

Twiggy Forrest of Fortescue is brain-washed with the climate mantra.

His attempts to implement “climate agenda” crap such as hydrogen, have FAILED monumentally.

He has caused a lot of economic damage to Fortescue’s share price.

He should stick to mining iron ore and stop wasting shareholder’s money.

It doesn’t really look as though you’ve gone through the report in detail, or perhaps some of the nuances didn’t come across clearly.

Europeans continue to take climate change seriously
This part mostly reflects people giving socially acceptable answers rather than deeply held views. When you ask the public to rank “global problems”, they tend to choose broad, high‑profile issues, and climate change is the safest, least controversial option. The results say more about media exposure and virtual signalling than about concrete policy preferences.

Strong support for climate action and the clean transition
Support appears high largely because the questions are framed in warm, positive language – “clean”, “neutral”, “innovation”. There’s no mention of costs, trade‑offs, or lifestyle changes, so it’s easy for respondents to agree in principle without committing to anything. Endorsing climate neutrality is painless when no one asks whether you’d accept higher bills or restrictions.

Climate change feels personal
The idea that people “feel personally exposed” relies entirely on self‑reported impressions, not actual measured risk. Extreme weather is a constant media theme, so it’s unsurprising that people say they’re affected. The holiday‑planning statistic is particularly flimsy – people often mention weather when choosing destinations, but that doesn’t mean climate change is the driving factor.

Europeans see benefits in the transition
These findings mostly reflect optimistic assumptions and leading questions. Broad statements like “climate action improves public health” or “reducing fossil fuel imports increases security” are easy to agree with. The survey doesn’t test whether respondents understand the economic or technical complexities behind those claims.

Most Europeans say they’re making climate‑friendly choices
Self‑reported behaviour is unreliable at the best of times. People tend to overstate recycling, waste reduction, and other “good citizen” habits. The survey doesn’t check whether these actions are meaningful or sustained, and it focuses on the simplest, lowest‑effort behaviours rather than anything that would indicate real commitment.

The way the questions are written makes the “approved” response the easiest one to choose. Everything is framed in positive, cost‑free terms – clean energy, innovation, better health, more security – so most people will naturally agree. There’s no mention of higher bills, lifestyle changes, or trade‑offs, which means respondents can support the idea without thinking about the reality. Add in the fact that climate concern is seen as the socially respectable answer, and you end up with results that look like strong public backing even though the wording quietly steers people in that direction.

You really need to read the guff you post before posting.

Fail.

It’s much too soon to claim victory. There are still fanatic holdouts at the Tombstone on the Hudson. UNFCCC COP 31 is still going ahead this year in Turkey in December. There is still a mountain of CC research being produced by academia around the world. The MET Office in Exeter UK is still cranking out huge amounts of global warming propaganda. The Climate Research Institute of University of East Anglia is still a bastion of holdouts. What has happened among the major media is only a good start.

Climate change still has strong advocates within various socialist parties around the world. The Democrats in the US have not given up, and sooner or later they will be elected to office.

This is far from over. When they are down, keep kicking. They will only stop when they feel it’s personally humiliating for them to carry on with this farce.

I am not as optimistic. The CAGW / CCC crowd is lying relatively low until the Democrats or Democratic Socialists take vontrol of the House and Senate in the next election, and replace all the cancelled regulations and such with clear, definitive legislation.

The jig is up for the whole Climate/Ruinables scam, and deep down they know it, even if they still cling desperately to it. We get it. It’s extremely difficult to admit you’ve been lied to, and fell for the biggest scam in history, making it a part of you. As for the scamsters themselves, like Mann, Gore, Hansen, and countless others, they know who they are, and what they did and may they burn in Hell for the harm they have done.
