On social media, Greg Small, executive director of Climate Solutions, asked his followers:
Ok folks, looking for some ideas. We are starting to plan out the Climate Solutions dinner for next May. This is our big annual event that typically has about 700 or so people attend.
We are thinking about who a great keynote speaker might be. In the past we have had folks like Gina McCarthy, Van Jones, Bill McKibben, Bill Gates, Mindy Lubber, and Jigar Shah.
Who have you seen recently that lights things up and brings energy and excitement to a keynote speech.
Who do you want to hear from? Huge thanks for any ideas that you have. Feel free to pop ideas into the feed or send suggestions over a message.
Small’s list are all Statists now peddling false hopes. Each is at odds with the new political reality of energy affordability first, alleged climate harm last. To correct this, I suggested in a comment:
Alex Epstein on Fossil Future would explain why the anti-CO2 crusade is both failing and anti-human betterment.
Other nominees from Small’s climate crowd were Gavin Newsom (“Cap-and-Trade market … re-branded to Cap-and-Invest b/c he liked WA’s approach”), Katharine Hayhoe, Mary Nichols, Greta Thunberg, and a number of names I had never heard of. Some longed for a new inspiring voice now that past voices (think Gore, Kerry, Podesta) had lost their luster.
So what was the response to my suggestion? Nothing. Not a single like or a criticism–crickets. Yet Alex Epstein would challenge the crowd to understand why the anti-CO2, anti-fossil-fuel crusade was futile and wasteful.
This is not what the crowd wants to hear in their moment of growing crisis. Invested emotional capital (change my mind now?) and jobs (what will I do in the real world?) are controlling.
Open Minds?
But some minds (more will follow) might entertain a rethink, if only to understand their predicament and the reasons behind it. It will be a lonely endeavor, beginning from within. As Milton and Rose Friedman stated in Free to Choose (1980: xii):
The only person who can truly persuade you is yourself. You must turn the issues over in your mind at leisure, consider the many arguments, let them simmer, and after a long time turn your preferences into convictions.

Who Should Your Climate Speaker Be?

GHE theory says that without it Earth becomes 33 C cooler, an average 255 K, -18 C, ball of ice.
Wrong.
Without the GHE Earth would have no water vapor, clouds, snow, ice, oceans or 30% albedo becoming much like the Moon, a barren rock ball 400 K lit side, 100 K dark.
TFK_bams09 heat balance graphic uses the same 63 twice violating GAAP & calculates out of thin air a 396 BB/333 “back”/63 net GHE radiative forcing loop violating LoT 1 & 2.
Wrong.
Likewise, the ubiquitous plethora of clones.
GHE theory requires Earth to radiate “extra” GHE energy as a thermodynamic black body.
Wrong.
A BB requires all the energy leaving the system to do so by radiation. TFK_bams09 shows 60% of the surface energy upwelling by kinetic modes, i.e. conduction, convection, advection and latent there by rendering BB impossible.
GHE is bogus and CAGW a scam so alarmists must resort to fear mongering, lies, lawsuits, censorship and violence.

Having a climate realist give a keynote presentation to such a gathering of cult members would get the same reception as Mick Jagger singing “Sympathy For The Devil” at a Papal mass.

The usual speaker will talk about how it’s a battle between those who believe CO2 to be harmful and those who know better. Yawn. It’s never been about CO2, only its use as a weapon to attack fossil fuels, which are our lifeblood. It’s about our standard of living, and our tendency to reproduce when we are prospering. It’s about population control. At the heart of the climate alarm movement is misanthropy. I had to laugh when I saw Bill Gates as a speaker, not only because he is boring and undeservedly entitled, but because he, his father and his grandfather are eugenicists. The claim made is that that movement went away with the Third Reich. Think again. It merely went underground.
Did it? Perhaps one should look at the many divisive movements in the world today.
I suspect eugenics has merely been repackaged and rebranded with multiple offerings.
Is there a theatrical award for best drama queen?

His wickedly effective droll style won’t threaten the poor dears, but they will completely miss his totally logical conclusion – that they are the joke.
I think these people are so far gone that sending them a ray of sunshine or truth is meaningless. I would suggest the most whacked out CAGW fool we could find. They have been so wrong for so long that even a group like this is going to realize you know what these guys are full of bull crap.
