A few charts on Australian grid batteries. First up, Hornsdale Power Reserve seem to have been suffering declining round trip efficiency again, and is getting less throughput.
Its income has also suffered, without the price gouging opportunities it had previously from FCAS, and difficulty trying to turn a profit from energy arbitrage (charging cheap, selling expensive)
The Victorian Big Battery has also been finding it tough to make money recently. Of course, it gets competition in the FCAS market from coal fired inertia.
