ClimateTV Live at 1PM ET -National Climate Assessment Report #5: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

This week on “Climate Change Roundtable,” host Anthony Watts and panelist H. Sterling Burnett will delve into the big report issued by the Biden Administration – NCA5, or the National Climate Assessment #5. The media went ballistic over this report, with CNN claiming, “No place in the US is safe from the climate crisis, but a new report shows where it’s most severe.”

Similar claims were echoed by other media outlets, yet when you scrutinize the data, these claims are unsupported. Joining us will be James Taylor, president of The Heartland Institute and an expert in policy analysis, as we dissect this lunacy.

Tune into “Climate Change Roundtable #88.” We’ll be discussing National Climate Report #5, addressing The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Additionally, we’ll cover the week’s craziest climate news and answer your questions. “Climate Change Roundtable” goes live every Friday at 12 PM CT/1 PM ET. Join the live show and submit your questions for our panelists. To ensure your question gets addressed, leave it as a super chat, and we’ll guarantee it’s covered.

The Good Thing about ASS#5 is that it is so over the top demonstrably bad that more people will begin to question “the science.”

My brother in law works for a towing company. he says that they even though the number of EVs in his town is low, they are always having to go out and rescue one.

He says that there is a hidden latch in the front door panel that will open the doors when the battery is dead. Sounds like there are a lot of EV owners who never bothered to read the owners manual.

The BBC are masters at miss information. Yesterday they reported temperatures in sweden were -20C and then they had to try and balence this with at temperatue in Spain of 32C from a very dubious roof location.

I just watched a national forecast and they mentioned Tropical Cyclone 22 is forming and could become a tropical storm, but I can’t see it on the GFS nor does the GFS show any sort of cyclone development. Sometimes I feel like I am in an entirely different reality than the NWS, can someone help me out and find this supposed storm on satellite for me?

It was just as invisible then as it is now.

“No place in the US is safe from the climate crisis…”

They get crazier by the day! The monster is coming to eat you!

Spielberg should make a movie about the climate monster. It could be a great satire- but I’m not sure about Spielberg- I think he’s very woke.

Same here in Connecticut. It is like a mass psychosis has possessed so many in the public it is disconcerting. I attribute it to the fact (and as evidence) that this belief “that climate change is going to destroy us” has become a religion to these alarmists. This fills the void they feel inside and their sense of meaninglessness by convincing themselves that “saving the planet” adds their worth and virtue.

They had better start worrying about the Grand Solar Minimum that has just started.

The last time that it happened was about 400 years ago and we got the Little Ice Age with famines and millions of deaths.

It’ll be blamed on climate change due to ff.

It is very seldom mentioned that “Climate” is only about 30 years now. The long-term climate the Earth is in is a 2.56 million-year ice age, We are in an interglacial period that alternates with glacial periods.

About 4.6 million people each year die from cold weather, and 500,000 die from hot weather.

We can’t easily protect our lungs from the cold air in the winter and that causes our blood vessels to constrict causing blood pressure to increase leading to heart attacks and strokes.

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanplh/article/PIIS2542-5196(21)00081-4/fulltext

This study from 2015 says that cold weather kills 20 times as many people as hot weather and that moderately warm or cool weather kills far more people than extreme weather. Increased strokes and heart attacks from cool weather are the main causes of weather-related deaths.

“Climate” has been redefined to be only 30 years now, basically it is now just medium-term weather so it is always changing.

Here is one new 2023 study that says that depending on the surface temperature and solar irradiance datasets that one uses, one can show anything from mostly human-caused warming to mostly natural warming.

ā€˜Challenges in the Detection and Attribution of Northern Hemisphere Surface Temperature Trends Since 1850ā€™
https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1674-4527/acf18e

The datasets are historical so there is not much that can be done about them.

I thought ClimDiv was the official US data now.

ClimDiv matches USCRN very closely (deliberately)

What data is the “climate report” using ??
