ClimateTV – Live at 1PM ET – Biden, Montana, Maui – ‘Climate Emergency’ Madness Continues

With special Guest: Dr. Judith Curry

Climate Change Roundtable #76

It has been a crazy week in the climo-sphere. Fires in Maui were blamed on “climate change” by the media, only for them to find out that this wasn’t the case at all!

President Joe Biden, after having a disastrous week of optics sitting on the beach while Maui burned, decided to fly there Monday. With the perfect setting for “disaster porn” from the burned city of Lahaina, he may finally declare an “official” global climate emergency next week.

The Biden White House loves their optics!

Also, a bunch of kids in Montana (well, actually their handlers) filed a climate lawsuit against the state citing the Montana constitution provision for a clean environment. They just won, arguing with exaggerations and cherry-picked data. Special guest, Climatologist Dr. Judith Curry will discuss her role in defending that lawsuit and her observations.

Tune in LIVE for Climate Change Roundtable at noon CT on Friday, August 18 to find out. And be sure to leave your questions for host Anthony Watts, weekly panelists H. Sterling Burnett and Linnea Lueken, and special guest Dr. Judith Curry.

So climate change causes the air to hold more moisture leading to larger hurricanes but also causes the air to hold less moisture leading to fires in Hawaii.

Once again, if your scientific theory causes both A and not A then it is a religion, not a science.

This is what is called double-think in Orwell’s Nineteen-Eighty-Four.

Doublethink is a process of indoctrination in which subjects are expected to simultaneously accept two conflicting beliefs as truth…..

Much the same as believing that CO2 is both an evil climate-altering pollutant and also a necessary and beneficial component of the Earth’s atmosphere for the sustenance of life.

“The Party” in Orwell’s novel has its own double-think motto:

“War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength”

I was a teacher’s aide in the mid 70’s in an inner-city public school. This was a lesson in a 7th and 8th grade remedial reading workbook, the best I remember it:

“There are two things I like about my little brother Billy and two things I don’t like.
The two things I like are that he’s easy to please and he’s fun to play with.
The two things I don’t like are that he screams and cries a lot and he breaks everything I let him play with. Just yesterday he broke my favorite model airplane.
Questions:
What are the two things he likes?
What are the two things he doesn’t like?”

That lesson stuck with me. The scrabbling of the eggs was going on long before common core.

In a world that is warming (even rapidly) one would expect that many places would be warming. Even a place like Stockholm in Sweden. One would also expect that warmer days a nights during summer would increase. In Stockholm a “tropical night” is defined as a night when the temperature does not go below 20C.

This is the graph of number of “tropical nights” in Stockholm since 1941. I tried to get the graph starting at 1800 but nah…

(2018 was exactly as extreme as indicated btw.)
