President Joe Biden and the UN are likely to declare an “official” global climate emergency next week. All the signs are there. The chatter, and the behind the scenes maneuvering. The UN’s website now has a climate emergency page. Biden the other day stopped short, but when the new temperature numbers are issued on August 15 by NOAA, that may be all the justification Biden needs. The “melting in Antarctica and the supposed subsequent sea level rise” will be another, and Lahaina in Maui burning to the ground will be cited as yet another.
If Biden declares a climate emergency, will climate lockdowns follow? History suggests “yes.” In a plausible scenario, we could see gas rationing, restrictions on electricity use, and limits on air travel. Enjoy steaks? Well, you can forget those. But what is the truth about Antarctica ice and Maui fires?

Well, look at the success Fauci and Birx had in convincing states and cities (which do have the power the president may not specifically have) in choosing lockdowns to “essential personnel” only for instance.
Sometimes it only takes recommendations to get ‘done’ what the ‘state’ (read that as: FedGov) wants done. The Covid-19 response **is** the model going forward I think, and seems to to be the thinking of not just a few others too.

Dumb, dumber, dumbest. In 2016 Thomas Karl of NOAA led a group of authors to update the historical data in a paper published in (AAAS) Science Express, 4 June 2015. The “corrections” may seem small but in the run up to the publishing if the IPCC AR5 report, it was highly influential and politically times. Karl retired the following year in 2016. The changes made below shown as the delta between the update and the then agreed official data set was very significant and influential, politically speaking to push the climate change narrative. What’s a few tenths of a degree here and there…. well, it’s a lot especially when applied to the established datasets.

This is just conspiracy theory nonsense. The UN cannot declare anything. Or alternatively it can declare anything it likes and nobody would care. It has no army, no police force, no tax raising abilities and indeed nothing of any kind that would make the slightest difference to peoples lives other than perhaps some medical equipment. It is about as useful as the league of nations was.
Moreover at best the UN general assembly could I guess pass a resolution declaring a “climate emergency” but since the general assembly doesn’t meet until the 5th of September it is not going to happen in the next couple of days. And even if the general assembly does pass a resolution it would
still almost certainly be vetoed by either Russia or China who as permanent members of the security council can veto anything (as can the USA). And even if somehow the security council did not veto the resolution the UN would still be powerless to do anything. Just how many UN resolutions are the US and Israel for instance in violation of?
