Pre-order the Cartoons by Josh Calendar 2023

Josh writes:

I am letting everyone who ordered last year’s calendar know that you can now pre-order the Cartoons by Josh Calendar 2023.

Go to https://cartoonsbyjosh.co.uk/calendar-2023 and pick the right dropdown for UK, EU or World postage.

I am still using Paypal but, given recent events, you might want to order direct. If so then do email me back and we can sort out an order using BACS.

I will set up an alternative to Paypal when I have the time to work out the best solution – hopefully soon!

I just emailed Josh and will pay (in UK) by BACS. No more Paypal for me.

Drawbacks of Paypal.

It is a Popular Target for Phishing & Other Scams.
Customer Service is poor and slow.
Seller Protection Policy Doesn’t Cover Digital Goods.
There is a Potential for Frozen or Delayed Funds.
It has Confusing Transaction Fees.
It has Considerable Chargeback Fees.
It has few POS Features & Benefits.
It is expensive for International Payments.

Boris did such a great job as PM in the UK that I now read he is going to sort out COP27. Pity it is a bit late for Josh to find him a spot in his 2023 calendar but I am sure Josh will have tons of material from COP27 for WUWT readers.

How about getting a P.O. box. We send the money and a return address or in my case, I could send a stick on label with the check. I never used one but you could do money orders as well.

Money orders cost about $5.

I don’t write bad checks but unfortunately some people do and have given checks a bad name. Some banks charge a fee for handling bad checks and I wouldn’t want Josh to get stuck with those. I had my PayPal account for years to handle that however with recent changes, I joined those sending a message. We are now back to an earlier time in my life where few can handle credit cards with cash and checks becoming kings.

While I love many of Josh’s cartoons, many are meaningless to me, because I don’t know the background to what he is mocking. I wish cartoon creators would publish books that give some commentary about what each cartoon is about. And if publishing online, perhaps a link to their commentary. That way it isn’t only the insiders, who already know all the jokes, can understand them.

Unfortunately that is true of most humor. If your news feed is limited, if you live in another country, you might miss the point of the humor. If you’re new to the site, you will accumulate much of the background over time as this site isn’t strictly limited to the science of climate. History and events are intertwined and to make wise decisions, the more you know the better.
