UK PACT supports coffee producing communities in Veracruz, Mexico with projects to mitigate the effects of climate change.

UK PACT implements a project in Mexico to help coffee producing communities in the state of Veracruz to mitigate the effects of climate change, seeking to improve their quality of life through planting tree species that favour the conservation of the biodiversity of their ecosystems and that have a wider benefit for these communities.
The project consists in developing a methodology for the selection and agro-ecological management of species with high potential for carbon sequestration, as well as an effort to conserve the native tree species of the Veracruz mountain range. The project also aims to benefit the small coffee producers by planting trees that contribute to a higher quality of life for the communities, taking into account the possible utilities and cultural aspects of each species.
Before commencing activities, the implementing partners of the project received training on gender equality and social inclusion. During three days of participative workshops, two gender experts – from Mexico’s National University (UNAM) and the FCDO – led sessions around gender, the role of masculinities and about effective communication with a gender perspective.

A key objective of the workshops was to raise awareness about the provisions established in British law, that oblige all international cooperation programmes to account for a gender equality and social inclusion perspective. As such, this project is expected to implement with the care of acknowledging the realities and perspectives of women and other vulnerable groups that participate in the cultivation of coffee. This has the purpose of making sure that the benefits obtained from this programme contribute to closing gender gaps and promoting an authentic inclusive economic growth.

Locals usually learn pretty quickly how to take advantage of the green neo-colonialists who are not really there to help, but to just tell them what to do. They are there because this helps assuage their guilt complexes for being white and, more importantly, being stupid and useless.

In the days when I knew people who were involved in trying to produce improved strains of coffee in Mexico and Colombia the priorities were increasing the returns to farmers through better resistance to frost and blight and better yields and better flavours that sold for premium prices. The research effort was widely welcomed by cafeteros.

seeing as instant is grown roasted and then made into coffee, as we would do with home brewed BUT then dehydrated and bottled etc I seriously doubt that it IS in any way less carbon intensive.

How about taking the whole office out for lessons on “How to skydive without a parachute.” There’s nothing like shared terror to boost team spirit amongst the survivors.

Something better to spend our money on could include £1million pounds for a scheme to improve weather forecasting in Kenya by getting meteorologists to team up with traditional tribal witch doctors/rain makers. Alternatively how about spending £117,000 a year to have 2 people standing at the entrance to a hospital “educating” people about mask wearing, even though there are now no mandates in the UK making mask wearing compulsory.
Sadly neither of these examples are made up, and are just the first 2 that I remember reading about. I’m sure a small amount of research could come up with many more examples of money wasting.

I spent time in Mexico and acquired a taste for their coffee. In those days their drug business was rather smaller, and mainly confined to mescal and shrooms and tequila. Better to have them grow coffee, at least than the first two. If you fancy Marguerita then it’s one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor!

Nah, none of the above. Top of the priority list for the Foreign Office, and at our expense, is an urgent plan to offer counselling to Afghan tribesmen to help them get in touch with their feminine side. No, really.
This madcap scheme, backed by Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, aims to address “gender issues” by having psychologists working with Afghan men who have trouble discussing their emotional problems.
“The patriarchal Afghan society does not encourage men to acknowledge or talk through difficult issues,” says a report filled with the kind of NuLabour speak you only find in the innermost pages of the Guardian or in cafes frequented by black, one-legged, bicycling lesbians. “This can mean they repress their problems and deal with them in inappropriate or anti-social ways.” (Apologies for the poor grammar.) We may be onto something here.

It ain’t my tax money. The government is borrowing like crazy. It is my grandchildren’s and unborn great-grandchildren’s tax money. (The largesse of the unborn is truly touching. You would think they would have spending priorities of their own when the time comes. But we somehow know they want to spend it on us instead. I’m so proud of their selflessness.)
I didn’t want to believe it but the reckless ruination of our successors lives by wild spending can only be to completely wreck our existing monetary system and society in general to achieve The Great Reset or something even more insidious.

Now there’s an energy crisis that’s reverberating around the world. It took a global conflict from 1939 to 1945 for food rationing to be introduced into the UK. Yet an insignificant, corrupt, broke nation in the middle of Europe grinds the European and American continents to a standstill.

While there are no doubt some good aid workers on the ground, the majority of the aid industry are woke leftie scum who through their stupidity usually make things worse. And that’s before we get to the luvvie wankerati like Geldof and Bonio.

Gender studies: sex-correlated attributes (e.g. sexual orientation).
Social studies: normalization and functional evolution of men, women, and “our Posterity”. Clothing choices are selected with the intent of promoting a favorable juxtaposition of the sexes.
To be a little more forgiving, efforts to help small coffee growers by teaching the growing coffee bushes as undergrowth in appropriate mixes of other trees is a good thing.
My wife and I helped with a project in the Dominican Republic that included planting of mixed productive forestry — with coffee as lower layer, under trees that were grown for wood, fruits and structure for fruiting vines. annual vegetables were grown as the lowest level, all tended by people who llived within walking distance. The results were highly productive forests that produced foodstuffs and cash crops for the local residents.
Governments mandating DIE and Gender Issues be taiught and enforced by humanitarian aid efforts are making a mockery of themselves.
I am sure the coffee growers will accept the wholesale slaughter of their language.

In my time in Mexico I didn’t really get the impression that they had difficulties answering the question what a woman or man was.
So what is this British Goverment ‘project’ all about and why is the UK getting involved in someone else’s business in a foreign country ?!
I would guess that as with all these foreign aid projects very little money changes hands except what goes into the pockets of those sent over to educate the ‘natives’ and to pay their expenses.
