The Guardian has published an open letter from the leadership of the student climate change strikers.
We, the young, are deeply concerned about our future. Humanity is currently causing the sixth mass extinction of species and the global climate system is at the brink of a catastrophic crisis. Its devastating impacts are already felt by millions of people around the globe. Yet we are far from reaching the goals of the Paris agreement.
Young people make up more than half of the global population. Our generation grew up with the climate crisis and we will have to deal with it for the rest of our lives. Despite that fact, most of us are not included in the local and global decision-making process. We are the voiceless future of humanity.
We will no longer accept this injustice. We demand justice for all past, current and future victims of the climate crisis, and so we are rising up. Thousands of us have taken to the streets in the past weeks all around the world. Now we will make our voices heard. On 15 March, we will protest on every continent.
We finally need to treat the climate crisis as a crisis. It is the biggest threat in human history and we will not accept the world’s decision-makers’ inaction that threatens our entire civilisation. We will not accept a life in fear and devastation. We have the right to live our dreams and hopes. Climate change is already happening. People did die, are dying and will die because of it, but we can and will stop this madness.
We, the young, have started to move. We are going to change the fate of humanity, whether you like it or not. United we will rise until we see climate justice. We demand the world’s decision-makers take responsibility and solve this crisis.
You have failed us in the past. If you continue failing us in the future, we, the young people, will make change happen by ourselves. The youth of this world has started to move and we will not rest again.

What do the school strikers plan to do to “make change happen”? I guess if they knew, they wouldn’t still be demanding their parents sort out their lives.

There is a reason that 18 and 19 year olds are the preferred draftees in wars.
They are young and strong enough to carry their weapons, and stupid enough to believe what they are told.
So now we have a new war, and the cannon fodder is pouring out onto the streets.
What could possibly go wrong?

Climate Change is just a ruse to hide the real threat to humanity – Islam.
Their teachers should be prosecuted for child abuse. This is of course merely the left wing teachers using their pupils as a mouthpiece.
And journalists/reporters/media get a pass from you? What groups of professionals do you think have greater affect on youth and their ever-present back pocket phone, teachers or media?
There are two things I would say to parents left, right, middle, and way out there, that probably comes from my own personal bias:
1. Keep home media (tv and computers) out of non-adult bedrooms.
2. Keep cell-phones with Internet privilege for adults only.

We the old are telling you the young: you have been told fairy tales and you believe them. Grow up.
We, the other young at heart, believe in fact checking in place of climate policy crusades and advocacy schemes. We’ve seen enough strawman arguments and taunts against skeptical views to be wary. We, the young at heart, have also seen more than our share of propaganda over the years and are tired of the global warming con jobs.
ok, then you of course study the glacier activity, and the changing altered flow patterns of all of our seas recently? Checked the growing desertification charts, yearly increase of the lethal 2 celcius uptake; and have come to the hideous understanding of just how the growing Earth population will slowly start surviving on the NEW Communist nation’s dog meat trade and its demonic horrors involved? That XXX horror movie spreading now to Africa also? Dogs are so plentiful and cost efficient if “processed” the Chinese style? You have noted the mass extinction of species, including bees we must have to sustain agriculture worldwide? The beyond massive floating piles of waste accumulating in the middle of the pacific? It goes on almost forever, so you spend so much time researching, no? I applaud that you still see nothing to worry about. Oh, yeah, we are also OUT OF ANY PLACE ON EARTH TO PUT OUR HUMAN GARBAGE WASTE. China is cutting off the land dump business I see. The piles everywhere now reach almost to the sky. The Dying Earth is what it is. It is simply DYING. (ps, I’m probably as Right Wing as they get. I also have a brain and it works.)

The madness of what is happening at such an exponentially increasing rate of natural disasters–or. like the good ol Bible calls it, “like birth pangs” closer and closer–will lead to very bad political changes. VERY. Those stuck here with almost NO solutions at present will of course decide only a Socially Just Marxist system will bring about the Utopian changes of the day dreamers. Hey, good luck on that. What faces the Earth is global CHINESE STYLE COMMUNISM, growing every so popular in the USA, crazy as it is, and with that comes the ultimate Chinese food problem solution–the DOG MEAT TRADE. And other horrors. And therein lies the future of the world unless at least 8-1/2 billion begin to fight it with everything they have. But so far only about a few million of the 8 billion ever make a peep. Good luck guys. And I’m to the right of Attila the Hun, btw. The ignorance of how BAD the physical health of the Earth is, and what faces what is left of the poor 4 legs as the planet gets more crowded and HUNGRIER, and how I don’t have any answers at all myself, it just depresses the hell out of me. Oh, wait. Yeah. Even so, would you PLEASE COME QUICKLY, LORD JESUS? PLEASE?
