We’ve seen instances of this before – wishing disaster upon humanity so that it can be used for climate propaganda. However, this tweet from Greg Blanchette sent to the attention of Michael Mann and “get a vasectomy to save the planet” guy Eric Holthaus is particularly galling.

( From: https://twitter.com/gregvlee/status/501936826995994624 )
Predictably, neither Mann nor Holthaus have said anything in their feeds against this inanity, suggesting they agree. Reading Mann’s Twitter feed is like a trip into some sort of alternate universe, where Mann’s ego is a black hole, with its gravity pulling in all rational thought and disintegrating it at the event horizon.
What does it say about climate scientists when they agree that death and destruction are a means of elevating climate communication and their cause? To me it says they are anti-human people.

“Don’t look now, but Dr. Spencer points out a model at his blog that predicts a possible hurricane landfall next week at New Orleans.”
Here’s hoping for a mid sized low wind tropical storm to pass over Florida. We could use the rain as this week a high pressure center has moved over us bringing little chance of daily rain for several more days.
They get nasty when they don’t get their way.
“Hurricanes are weather, not climate”
But airplanes get destroyed by “climate conditions” (google: crash avion mauvaises conditions climatiques), like the recent MD-83 crash in Mali. Or so they said on TV.
Weather is not climate, but BAD weather is.

I’ll stop there.

Stickler alert: The Farmer’s Almanac is from Maine, the much better Old Farmer’s Almanac is from New Hampshire.
I am personally familiar with Greg and his views/antics.
He lives in Tofino when he can find housing that meets his criteria…
Unfortunately for him, during the summer he is out competed by servers, surf instructors, baristas, and dishwashers for accommodations available.
He recently Tweeted,
“I’ve been living in Ontario for the summer ’cause i can’t find or afford housing in Tofino. See you in the fall, though.”
I must say, I do miss his arm-waving and hand-wringing about just about everything.
It’s special characters like him that make Tofino such an entertaining place to be part of the BIG EVIL CORPORATE CONSPIRACY MACHINE!

In my opinion, the reason both have earned what respect they have is because they base their forecast on what conditions have happened in the past and what followed being likely to repeat, with or without CO2 or any other Mann-made influence. Just like our best weather forecasters.
“Predictably, neither Mann nor Holthaus have said anything in their feeds against this inanity, suggesting they agree.”
==================
It suggests no such thing.
A non-reply to an inanity can save a decent employee his job.
It only happens once though, usually the silence following the inanity is enough.
And they want Nuremberg-style tribunals and the death penalty for “deniers”…
Ask not for whom that bell tolls, Greg ol’ bean…
Not that I’m suggesting such, but the assassination of Al Gore, the top leadership of Greenpeace, the ICCC (or whatever those supermodels are), and the rest would cause a large drop in the carbon footprint.
Climate conference should ban air-travel as a means of getting to them (and really, hasn’t everyone heard of Skype?).
Perhaps something lesser. Slash the tires on the evil carbon burning vehicles. Call in terrorist threats (destroying the planet by emitting carbon, you see) so the airports are shutdown.
And again, the elephant (as in the GOP won’t notice) in the room is the carbon footprint of our military. Now in Ferguson MO. The EPA should fine the police for releasing toxic substances.

Oops, sorry! When I saw it in moderation I thought you would just snip the offending word. Unless it was the sentiment?
It’s people like this that remind me of ISIS!
It reminds me of Dr. Phil Jones’ climategate email, in which he said “I hope this lack of warming does not continue”. The Chicken Littles evidently did not see much to be alarmed about in his email. I, however, wondered:
1. What lack of warming, Phil?
2. Why are you wishing warming on us? Isn’t warming supposed to be bad, Phil?
Sickening. Putting their vested interest in their pet theory above humanity. Congratulations.
john robertson, What strike me funny how little they are willing to finance the issues they support, it has dawn on me lately we should have a two tiered tax system based on you political views if you believe in big government helping and directing everyone regardless of need or public healt risk (IE if a lot will kill you we most remove all regardless of the law of diminishing returns of in the case of a poison it the dose that counts.) You should pay a large tax and if you believe in limit government doing the minimal so that we do take care of the basic problem based on need and public health you should pay a different tax rate, how much do you want to bet to the most part if we had such a tax system, there would be few Progressive or Democrats.
How’s the slow start in the Atlantic treating ya….You got lucky in the Eastern Pacific…..Anyway someone tell the moron who tweeted this crap hurricane activity is cyclical just like everything else in climate…..hurricanes is usually a 10-20 year cycles…..seems to me 1995-2012 is roughly 20 years with tons of activity…..outside of occasional spikes the next 20 is going to be a dud it goes with the AMO…….idiots and I didn’t go to school for this lmao
Thanatism (n, neologism from Gr. thanatos, “death”; cf: Kaligarchy): Not nihilism but a
(typically Malthusian) Luddite sociopathology, an existential “phobia of Being.” Derogating
post-Enlightenment industrial-scientific-technological civilization as antithetical to “natural world” environmental integrity (as if any human artifact could be “unnatural”), kaligarchic Thanatists advocate exterminating 95% of human populations by holodomic famine and disease.
Actually hoping for a hurricane or 3 tropical storms to make landfall between Galveston and Corpus Chrisiti, TX, to break the extreme drought. Doesn’t look it will happen because the hurricane forecast is wrong again.
REPLY: Don’t you think wishing for a hurricane/TS and all the death and destruction it brings is wildly wrongheaded? I do. – Anthony
I lived in Houston for 6 years and lived in Texas for almost 40 years. I have been through numerous tropical storms and one/two hurricanes (can’t really remember). Additionally, I have been in a typhoon while visiting family in Taiwan. Anthony, I think you are over exaggerating the cost. What is the cost if the extreme drought continues in TX? The Highland lakes weren’t filled by normal rainfall patterns. I think you are wrong on this issue. I did not ask for North America to get its ass by the hurricane season. Hurricanes are a natural phenomenon. While they cannot be mitigated, the cost of their effects can. I am not a warmist.
Even the overpopulation meme is groundless. The Low Fertility Band of the UN Population Survey has the only record of accuracy, and projects peak 8bn before mid-century, and then steady decline. Under-population and collapsing work forces will be the real issue. We’ll need billions of androids.
