Social Good Summit turns to hatefest – Al Gore likens skeptics to racists, homophobes and violent alcoholics

The “Social Good” summit in NYC going on today bills itself as:

A three-day conference where big ideas meet new media to create innovative solutions.

The Social Good Summit is a three-day conference where big ideas meet new media to create innovative solutions. Held during UN Week from September 22-24, the Social Good Summit unites a dynamic community of global leaders to discuss a big idea: the power of innovative thinking and

technology to solve our greatest challenges. The most innovative technologists, influential minds and passionate activists will come together with one shared goal: to unlock the potential of new media and technology to make the world a better place, and then to translate that potential into action.

But it seems that thanks to warmists Al Gore and former Senator Tim Wirth (the guy who turned off the air conditioning and opened the windows at Hansen’s global warming hearing in June 1988) it has become a hatefest against climate skeptics.

Video follows:

Then Tim Wirth had this to say during the live video feed:

“Skeptics are ‘truly evil people”

Wow, I wonder if these guys realize how unhinged they sound in the current dynamic?

The ‘War on Skeptics’ has now officially been declared. Prepare for the worst.

Is what Algore touted in that video considered nonsense, idiocy, or lunacy?

Janice,
Amen. I am expecting that the gay-promotion will eventually get around to compulsion…and I am NOT going to play.

@Cross Patch, I didn’t watch (ugh) the latest video by the gore, but, I’m sure you are correct from all the other junk the Fantasy Science Cult puts out: shore up the base. We scoff and wonder, “What in the world?….”
Al: Support me or be like… “them” (that’s us truth-in-science people).
Cult Members: Oooo, we don’t want to be like thaaaaat. Weeee will join you, almighty Al.”

I learned a long time ago that the quickest way to make someone really really angry is to be right. Like all rules like this, there are exceptions. But whenever you see someone have a meltdown like this, it means they were exposed and do not want to admit they are right.

As Roger would say. “A difficult question for the climate science community is, how is it that this broad community of researchers — full of bright and thoughtful people — allowed intolerant activists who make false claims to certainty to become the public face of the field?” – Roger Pielke, Jr

I agree with your post and would like to add to it, if I may?
Many here on WUWT? and other skeptical blogs knew that the vitriol would ramp up the further the alarmists got from reality. We are seeing this now. What comes next is the general publics’ BS-o-meter starts to go off. The more the alarmists testiculate (clearly I am not a homophobe), the more the average person is turned off. My sandwich board says “the end is nigh”, and what I mean is the end of the GW scam is nearly upon us.
Lot’s of snow in the Rockies (quite early). I realize weather is not climate, but snow does mean skiing!!! At least my kids will know what snow is.

Talking of violence didn’t Al Gore FIGHT in the Vietnam War? Oh, I forgot, he took snaps and scribbled notes. What a guy.

Al Gore said he invented the internet. Al Gore said he won a presidential election. Al Gore said it was millions of degrees at the Earth’s core. Does anyone trust Al Gore? This is a man who would be POOR today if it was not for fossil fuels and tobacco.

So Mr. Gore and Mr. Wirth are not only rent seeking alarmists, they are hateful deceitfulrent seeking alarmists.
But we knew this already.

I didn’t know there were any “World Leaders”/ I thought they all died in the attempt: Mao, Lenin, Stalin, Napolean, Hitler.

Civil war is what they are trying to brew. Dr. Serge Galam explained it well in his book in French “Les Scientifiques ont perdu le Nord”. I do not know if this has been translated in English but the discourse is prescient. Al Gore will never do the dirty work himself but zombie militants will.

Why is it that some of the most comfortably well off people in the world want the rest of us unwashed to live more simpler lives? Could it be that they want to have even more, while you have less?
References:
Al Gore, Hollywood Fools, Presidents, Kings and Queens like Charlie Boy with many fossil fuel powered estates and so on. It makes me sick, the hypocrisy. Did I hear Redrand Pachauri the former oil executive and railway engineer? Is he comfortable? You betcha! PS He started a fossil fuel big oil residual extraction company called Glorioil. I think based in Texas but name now changed.

Unfortunately capitol security back in 1988 isn’t what it is today. Wirth and Hansen would have received the business end of tazers for mucking with the windows and A/C. If only.

Having lost the scientific basis for catastrophic anthropogenic global warming, Gore, Wirth et al. now descend to the ad hominem and other logical fallacies detailed by Aristotle.
Legal Advice: Pound the Facts, Pound the Law, Pound the Table

“If you have a case where the law is clearly on your side, but the facts and justice seem to be against you,” said an old lawyer to his son, who was about to begin the practice of the law, “urge upon the jury the vast importance of sustaining the law. On the other hand, if the law is against you, or doubtful, and the facts show that your case is founded in justice, insist that justice be done though the heavens fall.” “But,” said the young man, “how shall I manage a case where both the law and the facts are dead against me?” “In that case,” replied the old lawyer, “talk around it,” and “the worse it is, the harder you pound the table,” adds a modern commentator.

On a serious note now: There are many very poor people around the world without access to electricity, potable water, enough food etc. Their last concern is about the trace rise of the trace gas co2 (which has been greening the planet over the last several decades). I’ll be damned if I am going to watch bastard hypocrites like Al Gore, Prince Charles, climate scientists, the Hollywood eco-hypocrites etc. not suffer but want the rest of the dirty poor to suffer. This is one of the reasons why I come to WUWT. To do my little bit to fight this bullshit.

“Sceptics are truly evil people”
Hooray! I wasn’t sure whether I was just marginally evil or truly evil. Now I know. I shall replace my tabby with a white Persian, practice my evil laugh, and get to work on my dastardly schemes.
I already have a cultured English accent.

Course, if I had transmitted it first, I would have used the correct syntax “if it were not” instead of “if it was not”.
(subjective case gets us every time….)
Go Jimbo (typos and syntax matter little in these final days….)

Al Gore slams Big Oil and tobacco. Yet he got rich off of Big Oil and tobacco. Even in the co2 discussion world he still got rich indirectly by attacking fossil fuels. What is it about Al Gore that he can’t make money in some other field? Fossil fuels and tobacco is his game. The jig is almost over and he is in a panic because $100,000,000 is not enough. Not enough, while there are families who struggle to get on good meal a day in the developing world. I am so angry.
