Oh boy, another Mann channel!
You can follow what is sure to be an entertaining series of tweets here.
You’ll know a tipping point has been reached when a quart of strawberries is mentioned.

I seem to be blocked out, alas. Does he have enough photos of himself? Narcissist….
I believe he has distilled his PhD thesis into one tweet.
What a complete mistortion of the facts, but then again it’s what he’s best at.
It’s only an “assault” because he refuses to comply with his LEGAL obligations under FOIA.
Gotta love the Editor’s note to Herzberg’s response to Manne’s intemperate outburst in the Vail Daily ( http://www.vaildaily.com/article/20111005/LETTER/111009946&parentprofile=search ):
“Editor’s note: The “hockey stick” is at the core of debate over comparative global temperatures through time. While most studies support the “hockey stick” pattern, several do not, and so the debate continues on this and other aspects of the global change theories. We’ll remind readers that there’s good reason we’re running these commentaries in the opinion forum, whose function is expression of viewpoints and not purporting to offer definitive answers.”

In other news, Mann’s benefactor George Soros lost his appeal and remains a convicted felon.
So – is the cause of Mann’s recent florid output, that his money flow is drying up?
I laugh daily at the people who tweet using the #climate hashtag. Read the bios and you get a glimpse of the machine and of people who make good livings driving it. It makes the claims of big oil even more ludicrous when you see the constant stream of rubbish from people with a financial stake.
Manns tweets will just be retweeted by that group of money grabbing ideologists.
I have extensively followed the Vatican and the Popes comments.
Three things NEVER mentioned from :”The Chair” of the Vatican…. By ANY Pope.
Man-made climate.
AGW.
Anthropogenic Global Warming.
This leaves only one other Climate Change…,Natural Climate Changes
I challenge Mr Mann – Cathy etc to prove me wrong.
The Pope has spoken from “The Chair” about Good stewardship [ As always ]…the need to help the poor and displaced by [ Natural ] Climate Changes, environmental issues, actions of corporations displacement of people etc.
Even the Vatican has been taken in on Carbon Neutral Schemes
http://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/2010/0420/Carbon-offsets-How-a-Vatican-forest-failed-to-reduce-global-warming
The Solar panels were a gift….as was the installation and maintenance.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26946700/ns/us_news-environment/t/first-solar-panels-installed-vatican-roof/
[ “The solar panels were donated by SolarWorld, based in Bonn, Germany. The company’s CEO gave the panels a Bonn-based company called SolarWorld. The company’s CEO decided to give the solar project as a gift to the German-born pope. ” ]
Even the Church has been infiltrated with IPCC influence. R. Pachauri, hikers and lawyers made a “Working Group” in a recent PAS [ Pontifical Academy of Science ] paper.
[ ” Ajai, L. Bengtsson, D. Breashears, P.J. Crutzen, S. Fuzzi, W. Haeberli, W.W. Immerzeel, G.
Kaser, C. Kennel, A. Kulkarni, R. Pachauri, T. H. Painter, J. Rabassa, V. Ramanathan, A.
Robock, C. Rubbia, L. Russell, M. Sánchez Sorondo, H.J. Schellnhuber, S. Sorooshian, T. F.
Stocker, L.G. Thompson, O.B. Toon, D. Zaelke ” ]
http://catholicclimatecovenant.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Pontifical-Academy-of-Sciences_Glacier_Report_050511_final.pdf
The age old Himalayas argument was used….. [ Note: If this was an honest report – why not call out INDIA to immediately reduce it’s Black Carbon [ soot ] emissions, within this report? ]. It wasn’t like Mr R. Pachauri wasn’t available.
The most important part is the PAS is NOT part of the magistrate…. The official voice [ ” Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, Vatican spokesman, said in a written statement that while the report reflects the findings of the authors and is not “an act of the magisterium of the Church,” ]
Disclaimer: I’m Catholic and blog on Catholic blog. I am VERY much a Climate Realist [ Skeptic, if you must ] and so are many others.
IMO You do your [ our ] cause a disservice when you try to lump people of faith…into people of AGW faith. 🙂
Here in the UK we say
“Many a tweet makes a twat”.
RB , is right, perhaps Mann and his followers should become the twatterati.

Twitter sure helped get Calgary’s new mayor elected. We have a very young demographic in Calgary.

Twitter helped Obama get elected. Now are we frightened?
What? A Twittering Twit?
Avoid putting too much credence in people (and the words they speak) who sit under metallic hats.
Michael Mann anagrams, anyone?
Lame chin man
China elm man
Then of course there’s
Penn State > State Penn
I keep telling you folks, posts on Twitter are not “tweets”, they’re “twits”, because that’s how useful they are.
Twitter helped the ‘O’ to be president . . . . .
Is Mann taking a sabbatical from PSU in order to position himself as a US presidential candidate? Will he form a third party? The Narcissistic Party? Will former VP ‘eco-lite’ Gore be his prime advisor?
John
Hey what the heck!!!
Anthony censored me for changing Twitterati into Twatteriti…
It’s clear from looking at the photo of Dr Mann that his titanic, ever-expanding brain has pushed his hair out.

“On the plus side, maybe he will pull an “Anthony Weiner” and send out a tweet that was only meant for Team members !!! (not meaning that he would send a lewd photo, but private data)”
Oh you’re good. What a presage! Kudos for calling it first!
I could do without the lewd photo of Mann as well, but anything that works is fine by me. This arrogant SOB being discredited by his own actions would be ironic and satisfying. Make it so, Mike!
———————————–
Look I know it’s only a childish fantasy, but imagine if he got really drunk one night and just tweeted his heart out and spilled his guts, you know, with loads of profane ad-hominems, etc… That would be so cool.
I get the feeling he doesn’t quite know what he’s letting himself in for with the ‘social networking’ stuff.
And the face of the other guy in the photo does look really, well, like he’s looking at a piece of rotting meat with hundreds of maggots crawling through it. Is that photo on his Facebook page? Sorry, but I’m not even going to go there to find out – ‘fraid I’m very cynical about digital ‘social networking’.
i sent him one tweet and was already blocked! typical of the AGW crowd. cowards.
I was following two of the peeps who follow him, it is nice to look into the underbelly of the beast to know the soft spots to strike.

NAS Chair Ralph Cicerone in background (July 27, 2006) — at U.S. House of Representatives.

Thanks for the ID.
My internet search turned up:
“… MIT’s Richard Lindzen harshly rebuked NAS president Cicerone in his Congressional testimony in November 2010. Lindzen testified: “Cicerone [of NAS] is saying that regardless of evidence the answer is predetermined. If government wants carbon control, that is the answer that the Academies will provide.” …” http://www.exposeddeception.com/index.php?action=printpage;topic=225.0
If that statement is true, it is a nice summation of what we are seeing and Brune and Mann exemplify exactly what Dr Lindzen has allegedly stated.

So censorship strikes again. Why does this not surprise me when Mr. Mann is involved.
By the way this poll may be why Mann is on a communication sabbatical and using twitter. (100 million active users) Someone else mentioned that Twitter seems to be full of young people and it is certainly the place to gather a “loyal” following.
University of Arkansas (Yeah, a University again, why don’t they stay OUT of politics)
http://blairrockefellerpoll.uark.edu/5292.php “>Findings from the Blair-Rockefeller Poll: Shifting Support for Democratic Party among American Elderly
“2012 Battlefield
Overall, the results of this survey indicate that the traditional base of support among older voters that Democrats have relied upon since the partisan realignment following the New Deal continues to weaken. While older voters continue to vote in high percentages, compared to younger cohorts, clear support for the Democratic Party is confined largely to African Americans….. If these trends continue, the 2012 presidential election will require the Democratic Party to continue to bring young, and often unreliable, voters to the polls. … the Democratic presidential campaign strategy will be forced to continue building winning coalitions without the assistance of most of the southern states. With growing populations and over one-third of the Electoral College votes needed to win the Electoral College, losing support among the elderly is an important trend that scholars must continue to monitor.”
The issue of “Global Warming” is an important one in the minds of young people and therefore important in the up coming 2012 elections.
