Today I made a sort of “comic”:
http://oi53.tinypic.com/2yulrw7.jpg
I’m sorry that I post multiple versions here and there, but on my own I cannot sit down and think, “Is this not good enough?” It is only fear that the actually *released* version of a graphic is not perfect that motivates me to improve it, so what survives in the wild isn’t just a hack.
Such is life.

wonder if Lynas’ reaction to that would be a temperature increase of more than six degrees ?

Despite the ever increasing evidence that not only was CAGW a wrong idea to begin with, but that we may be in for a spell of cooling, even dangerous cooling,, I expect that none of this will effect the warmists at all, and they will, in fact, dig in. In fact, I expect that if too many people start to disbelieve them, they may resort to far more drastic measures, crackdown on the press and internet, labelling denialists “terrorists” and dealing with them that way, even to harsh measures. They have so much influence and infitration of our current governments now that they can use any of the traditional methods that governments have used and are using to crack down on their opposition.
Some of the current actions taken by the US government point in that direction http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/world/51992858-68/agents-fbi-search-bureau.html.csp Washington • The Federal Bureau of Investigation is giving significant new powers to its roughly 14,000 agents — allowing them more leeway to search databases, go through household trash or use surveillance teams to scrutinize the lives of people who have attracted their attention.
http://www.infowars.com/tsa-security-exercise-covers-3-states-5000-miles/ If you’re still living under the delusion that the TSA is just restricted to airports then think again. A joint VIPR “security exercise” involving military personnel has Transportation Security Administration workers covering 5,000 miles and three states, illustrating once again how the TSA is turning into a literal occupying army for domestic repression in America.
The exercise seems to be about little more than a show of force by the TSA in light of a massive resistance against their agenda, particularly in Texas where a recent bill that would have banned invasive TSA grope downs almost passed and is set to be up for debate again.
Michael Cleveland, federal security director for TSA operations in West Virginia admitted as much when he said the event was about letting, “people know we’re out here.”
Simply put, the warmists have invested too heavily in warming to back down, they must dig in and fight, or die. The consequences of losing are now too great, and the prize, absolute power, to great, to back down now. And if it starts to get really cold, well, there is only one thing to do, put the Ministry Of Truth on the problem.
Pile up those sandbags, your going to need them.

We might want to take notice that Judith Curry is showing a lot of sympathy for Lynas. As for myself, Lynas is a hero because he has chosen to stand for scientific method and scientific integrity against a propaganda machine that would have sent chills down the spine of Joe Stalin. I wonder what Joe Stalin would have done with Joe Romm?

Love the Google ad that comes up right below the post asking if I would like to make 42% returns in the worlds next trillion $ market by investing in carbon credits! 😀

DC? What’s your stance on this one?

I don’t actually at first glance understand Josh’s latest, above.
Is there wit in it?
Are those multiple arms, or sand bags?
Is that a pair of binocular or an octopus?
And who on God’s Green Earth is “Marc Lynas”?
I like homework, but this be bollocks.

I think it says that Lynas has discovered who his friends are (and maybe that he has to put his life on the line for scientific integrity) and that his false friends are using the heavy artillery in an all out effort to destroy him.
I too had not heard of Lynas. Apparently, he was popular among the Warmista.
Your art is a bit more NYC. I like it.

===============
No… it would have sent a thrill up his leg, since he would be entirely in charge and all of the opposition would be camping in those lovely Siberian gulags. Romm wold have a cushy job as his Minister of Climate Propaganda, or similar job. I think that’s pretty much the fantasy of many in the green crowd.

Serves those clowns right for building stuff millimeters above sea level. Breaking news though is that glacial isostatic rebound could save them from their albeit shallow watery grave.

I second that comment above. Absolute WORLD power is the prize.
Then a quick and cheap population reduction measure is required.
Starvation through lack of energy for transportation fits nicely.
The coming cold is actually a bonus. Will expedite the reduction.

pyromancer76,
Here in Aus we have first hand experience at combatting a government and it’s advisers which are unfazed by facts. The latest from prime adviser Will Steffen completely ignores PDOs AMOs solar minimums or any natural system relating once again the guff from AR4. The seas are rising faster than ever, the worlds temperature continues to rise as iin the projections. Will became flustered when a radio “shock Jock” put him to the torch and questioned his findings in light of recent data; not long enough for a trend apparently. These people are beyond redemption and would rather pedal lies and deceipt that face the possibility they are wrong or at the very least fallible.

I took it to mean that Lynas is complaining about the fire he’s getting, but in reality he’s not the one taking most of the bullets. The sandbags are absorbing most of the fire in trench warfare, not the troops (unless you’re losing).

“And who on God’s Green Earth is “Marc Lynas”?”
An alarmist writer who helped the Maldives government stir up a media panic about being inundated RSN.
Now that he realized that the “Gold Standard” science of the IPCC is a little Greenpeace-hued, he finds himself in warmist crossfire and receives book offers and other helpful recommendations from skeptics… which slightly surprises him.

Hey, cut Lynas some slack. He went to Copenhagen and realised that things were not exactly as the IPCC and his erstwhile compatriots were saying. He is now trying to address that. Wish him luck on his journey.

“Mark Lynas? Not the same eco activist Mark Lynas who once threw a custard pie in Bjorn Lomborg’s face and was responsible for advising the Maldives cabinet to pose for that nauseatingly disingenuous publicity shot where they’re all under water (because, like, the Maldives are being drowned due to global warming: except, of course they’re not)? Yep, that one.”
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100092809/greenpeace-and-the-ipcc-time-surely-for-a-climate-masada/
I completely forgot the Lomborg stunt. (Well we can now say, that was warmist vs. warmist – back then Lomborg sounded skeptical with his Skeptical Environmentalist but turned out warmist with Cool It.)
Maybe now that Lynas turns skeptical Lomborg can use the opportunity for satisfaction.

I suspect Lynas wouldn’t appreciate this. From what I understand and have read, he’s more-or-less using the old line that goes something like “this scandal doesn’t undermine the basic science behind the CAGW hypothesis, which is robust, blah blah blah.”
